THANK YOU GOD!!!! HE IS TALKING ABOUT SHOOTING THE 3 BALL!!!!

If you are open, let it fly baby. Play "good" AAU ball. That's all it is. Move it, move it, move it and flick it. Cut and screen for each other, it isn't the most complicated thing in the world.

I see Leal getting a lot of playing time since he has the most potential as a 3 point shooter.

I’m not going to presume to tell anyone else how to feel.  However, I suspect most people are in the same camp as me, which is to say he was not my first choice.  But, I don’t want to be in a position where I’m negative on the team.  So, I’m going to support him and hope our play skyrockets.  Hopefully we see immediate results in terms of keeping our current players, getting an incredible staff, recruiting, and winning big.  Let’s get the frustrations behind us and win big.

    Very good post 👍

You say not everyone but there are plenty and it's pretty easy to figure out who they are when you see the same names over and over just ripping into IU. If you're criticizing a new coach when the ink isn't dry on their contract and they haven't held their introduction yet, let alone not having coached game one, then I think loser is the most accurate label. If that touches a nerve, so be it. It may be time for self-reflection.

We talk about IU needing to change. Maybe the fanbase needs to change. Maybe we don't need those who never have anything good to say about IU basketball and those who appear to be rooting against the program. If it looks like he can't get it done as we go through the season, there's time to criticize. But right now is not that time. Mike Woodson will rise or fall based on his performance but for today he's earned the right to have full fan support.

With all the anger you have, i think you might be the one that needs self-reflection. Constantly calling people losers just screams someone with issues.

Also it just seems hard for you to understand that not every one disliking this hire is rooting against IU, they just don't like this hire. I will be cheering for IU every game and hoping for Coach Woodson to get us back on top.

Agree about fit. I think part of Archies failure at IU was just this...he didn't seem to ever be comfortable as head coach in Bloomington. That and my belief that he was stubborn to change what was clearly not working. I do think some of the other coaches would have been better choices for the job, but it's done now...so just hoping for the best.

I don't know if it's just me but Archie just never seemed to be excited about coaching IU. That is one of the positives about Coach Woodson, he does seem to be excited about it.

What's ridiculous is the collection of those who bash IU at every turn. It wouldn't matter who they hired. There are some who's only goal is to criticize IU and you can see the same names pop up in every topic to do nothing more than rip the program. They are not fans.

Not everyone that is dissatisfied with this hire bashes IU with every post. You used a pretty broad stroke in your post. Using the insult losers quite often.

The whining and complaining is endless for some. No matter what IU does they are upset. Maybe it is time to start with a clean slate and remove the trolls.

The same losers complaining Woodson is too old at 63 would be thrilled with Dana Altman at 62 or John Beilein at 68. They are not interested in giving Woodson a chance to show what he can do as a coach and recruiter. If you think it is that bad I'm sure most of us would welcome your resignation from this forum. It would truly be addition by subtraction if some of you were no longer participating as Indiana fans.

The same losers should take this opportunity to spend all their time following the Celtics and waiting for the day Brad Stevens decides he wants to coach at IU. Probably going to be a long wait. Good luck to you.

This is a ridiculous post. So just because we are not happy with the hire we should be removed from this board. Last I looked this is a free country and not everyone has to agree about everything.

While I am not overly enthused about this hire I will still support Coach Woodson and IU.

If we are in this position 5 years from now then i will just have to except the fact that maybe iu basketball has come and gone..i hope not...we have the right type of AD,coach and staff to get this turned around.

Well it actually remains to be seen if we have the right AD coach and staff to get this turned around.

Anyone know the actual terms of the contract? I just saw reported as a 6yr deal.  I will live and accept the Woodson hire as long as we 1) didn't overpay and 2) didn't leave ourselves with an easy out.  For someone who has been begging for this job for years we shouldn't be paying a modest annual salary and have a cheap/no buyout in case this turns into a mistake in 4yrs.

I don't think the money details have been released yet.

Everyone keeps forgetting the two big donors.  One to buyout, one to pay the new coach. I would bet my house, the only options were Stevens or an IU guy. I think they got the coach who fell into their requirements

Unfortunately I think this is right. Dolson was probably told by the donors its either Stevens or an IU guy, which is pretty short sighted in my opinion. But its not my money so my opinion on this doesn't matter lol.

Woodson is our coach now though, so hopefully he hits it out of the park and that we are not in this same situation in 4 or 5 years.

The fact that, so far, only 4 people have liked this post so far tells me that some of you are determined to hate this hire regardless of the facts.

Well the facts are, even if the players loved him he was still an average NBA coach. And the facts are that we have no clue if he can coach college basketball or recruit college basketball. Most of these coaches can coach, Archie Miller can coach, but not all of them can coach at a high level in college or the pros.

Oh well if he is our coach we need to support him and hope for the best.

Just got texts from several Big Ten contacts. Most are lambasting the Woodson hire. One summed it up pretty well: “So a 63 yr old who’s never coached in college or recruited is the guy to rebuild that program? They could have done so much better. Indiana gonna Indiana.” #iubb

While I dislike this hire immensely, I don't really give a crap what other programs think of it lol

From some of the things i've been told Vic went from being my fav. hoosier to below Bracy Wright and Kelvin Sampson.

I was always a big fan of Vics but it seems like he has changed once he got some success at the NBA level. If the rumors are true of him talking to Heat players about being traded there during a game, then that is not a good look.
