Purdue and UConn in the final. UConn has guards that put tremendous pressure on the opponent's plus their center should be able to neutralize Edey somewhat. I picked UConn to win it all, but it will be a battle. Purdue is a complete team, but UConn is a little better and just as deep as the Boiler's.

A great season for them though and absolutely nothing to hang your heads on. Hopefully Indiana gets close to the level of those teams in the 20 years or so.

Not sure how I could be upset with a bunch of players nobody valued including Purdue fans.

they stuck together after last year and didn’t take the money and run

Everyone is beatable. I just think UConn offense is and ability to score 1-5 with their size is only team able to give Purdue problems…at least left in the tourney.

Tennessee is really good on defense with pressure & denying 3’s

    Should be quite a battle

Phenomenal news. Glad the kid and those around him see the bigger picture. Leave early and spend time on the G league circuit....or come back and play your way into 1st round $.

For IU though with Malik, MM, BT, TG....and find 4-5 more bodies this is a quick fix.

    Could not agree more….

Why not enjoy college instead of ride a bus to grand forks…,especially if the money is even close

He obviously trusts the coaches and likes it at IU…,plus he showed solid improvement all year

For any Purdue fan under 43 it's currently a none in a lifetime experience 🙂

Just remember when they blow it, and they will, suppress the carnival going on inside of you 😉

I was just reminded that my father didn’t take us to MSA in 1980 because he was drunk as usual 🫠

IU “blew it” vs Syracuse but that doesn’t change how great that team was

If you don’t appreciate them it’s your choice

Amazing that the greatest Purdue run ever is 3-3 vs IU with Woodson.

The amazing part is getting a 1 seed with 2 freshman + Morton Jenkins Newman in the backcourt

IU took 2 NBA players with a bunch of 5 year starters to…..a sweep of Purdue as CMW said an “elite season”

I honestly fear the day you get rid of CMW…..sleeping giant 🥱

From the videos i have seen, he doesn't look better than liam.  But that is just me.  I am going to agree with btown in that he doesn't look like a starter, but more of a 15-20min guy off the bench.  Liam was a day 1 starter level talent though.  I honestly don't think this kid is a 5* level talent from the little i have seen.  But i know nothing about anything so take for what its worth.

Liam was 95% shooting & offense

This kid looks to have quite a few tools in his bag…might be able to defend & rebound as a freshman

Ryan Nembhard will likely be back next year. He's at best a late second round pick. Can't see Gonzaga offering Braden Smith $1M when they'll have Nembhard.

It was last summer or earlier

Nemhard committed to Zags last April 22

    You could be right

Any guesses on who the player who was approached from Purdue with a 1 mil offer?  Edey is the only person I could think of worth that, but curious if I'm missing something here?

    Braden?

Heard earlier it was Gonzaga…they were in contact when he committed

Is that the reason the family didn’t want the school mentioned?

I have to unzip my lips on this, having lived my whole life with a name widely regarded as a woman’s name (it’s a Scandinavian men’s name) this is just another case of ignorance being justified by relying on our own culture. Maybe I should have taken a clue from Johnny Cash?

    Shoot a man in Reno?

He was the top assistant for Izzo (one of the best ever) for like a dozen years. I'd say thats pretty good.

I’m convinced everyone knows basketball at a B+ level that coaches

    But do they:

    work hard….like live the job

    get along/forge relationships

get players to buy into their dream

get players to fit the scheme

I wasn’t sure which emoji to choose, like or sad, but I liked your comment because while it’s difficult to read (as an IU fan), it’s hard to argue against it.  Sad state of affairs at IU; I know there’s optimism within the players, portal, etc, but the overall trajectory that’s been discussed at length is just not a good one. I’d take Matt Painter in a heartbeat right now, along with Josh Schertz, and Micah Shrewsberry. I would take the coach at Indiana Wesleyan and I don’t even know who he is, but I know they’re doing well. I’m rambling and need more coffee, lol, but hopefully you get my point.

Flagship University in THE basketball state & conference

PS. Could you imagine if CMW lost to FDU?  “Not my fault Braden had 7 turnovers….i didn’t shoot 21% on WIDE open 3’s….i gotta take a nap 😴

  12. When was the last time you heard of CMW or assistants hosting or going to a basketball clinic?

Does any opponent ever say IU is tough to prepare for or they run great stuff?

After watching darn near 100 games of men’s & women’s basketball the last 10 days it’s apparent there are some great coaches out there (Indiana HS too)

Utah State ran a bunch of 4/5 pick n roll to get open 3’s against Edey

IU had two bigs who shot 3’s at a high level…
