  1. The wife just showed me pics on social media, where Tom Izzo was in to see Trent and family recently. I don't have inside info, but I do have a nephew who has coached both cross-country and track at Heritage Hills for many years. They now say they aren't too sure about IU being one of the top schools. Have things cooled with the coaching staff??
  2. While I am not a Houston fan, I do agree with your post. Actually, it stands true for just about any MLB team, with some exceptions. Yankees have a terrible history of struggling against weaker teams...
  3. Talked to my daughter, who is in the Warrick Co. school corp. She says this kid is a transfer from E. Memorial HS. That's why I haven't heard about him.
  4. Hmmm... Don't know the kid. My grandson plays baseball for Castle. Wonder what year he graduated from HS? Congrats to him
  5. Stand corrected, you are right. Don't remember seeing either Gina Davis or Madonna in Field of Dreams.... ๐Ÿคช
  6. I also remember seeing Mark "The Bird" Fidrych pitch there as well as Jimmy Leyland manage the team. We're showing our age, LOL!! BTW, The street in front of Bosse Field was renamed Don Mattingly Way
  7. I didn't know where to place this, so I thought I would do it here rather than start a new thread. Down here in Evansville, we have a semi-pro team, the Evansville Otters. They play in the Frontier League. This year, they will be playing for the 2023 Championship! They will be playing the Quebec Capitales. The series starts tonight in Quebec with Game 3 tomorrow night. The series then shifts to historic Bosse Field, where the movie, A League of Their Own was filmed (for you movie lovers). The series is a best of 5. Go Otters!!
  8. It was a bummer of a day yesterday, sports wise for me. First the Colts lose to the Jags. Then the Yanks were not hit for 10 innings against the Brewers. However, they did manage to win 4-3 in 13 innings thanks to a walk-off base hit. It was truly a pitchers duel between Garrett Cole and the Brewers Corbin Burnes. At least they managed to salvage something. Then to top things off, more bad news for the Yankees as the new player called up just 8 games ago, Jasson Dominguez was diagnosed with a UCL injury!! This will keep him out of baseball until at least mid-season next year!!! I'm hoping that at 20 years pld, he will heal quickly. I tell ya, if the Yanks didn't have bad news, they wouldn't have any news at all...
  9. Maybe the Yankee and Reds players will be playing golf in October?? ๐Ÿ™„
  10. Irish looked pretty good today against NC State on the road......
  11. Unfortunately, I think it's a culture of losing there. Plus the type of kids the school is getting. A lot of gang activity and a combination of things. Both of my kids graduated from Harrison in the late '90's. It is so different today. Even the feeder schools have gone down. The middle school my kids went to had a very good reputation. Professional people sent their kids there instead of private schools. Sadly, it's not that way anymore.....
  12. Well being above .500 was nice while it lasted, just not long enough. Carlos Rodon has been absolutely trash this year, got hammered last night and has an era of almost 6!!! All of Yankee nation has egg on their faces, (me too).... Sorry Cubs and Reds fans, I thought the Yanks might help your causes as well as the Yanks, but looks like it's not happening tonight. Down 7-2 top of the 8th with runners on 1st and 3ed, 1 out. YIKES!!
  13. Just my 2 pennies for what they're worth.... I think mom and dad Sisley would like to follow their son's basketball after HS. Bloomington is a heck of a lot closer from Heritage Hills than South Bend. Again, JMO....
  14. Now you went and done it, I need to get a blizzard, lol.... ๐Ÿ˜‰
  15. I know it's a long shot, but the Yankees are trying to creep back in the playoff picture, Just sayin'....
  16. Until they played the Yankees, just sayin' BTW, Yanks have now won 6 out of the last 7 games after last night's 5-1 win against the Detroit Tigers....
  17. Is this the same player that couldn't stay healthy while he was at IU??
  18. I can hear ol' blue eyes singing New York New York!! The Yanks and the Baby Bombers have swept the Ass-Stroles spanking them 6-1!! The new kid, 20 year old Jasson Dominguez hit another 2 run homer, he is the youngest player in MLB since 1900, to hit a home run in 2 of his first 3 career game (per ESPN). And Judge hit his 31st homer as well. Man that AL West is going to be wild.... While the Yanks are out of the playoff hunt, they may have a say who does make it. How sweet it is......
  19. Believe me when I say there are a lot of frustrated Yankee fans, me included. But with the recent youth movement, I'm feeling somewhat optimistic.
  20. Might have broken his own record?? ๐Ÿ˜‰
  21. Not to take anything away from what Schwarber has done, but Judge is on pace to hit 40. Even after missing almost 2 months to injury. Imagine what he could have done if he stayed healthy?? ๐Ÿคจ
  22. The futuer is looking bright as the Bronx Bombers beat the Asstroles 5-4 thanks to the Baby Bombers all contributing in the win. And Judge hit his 31st homer as well!! Nice to get a series win against Houston....
