  1. Mother Bears rocks. Living in Texas, where pizza is far down the list of good eateries, I miss it.
  2. I was in a Chinese restaurant once years ago, and the proprietor looked at my daughter and wife, then at me, and said to my wife, "what happened, different father?" Lol. My daughter was so cute. I guess I'm not.
  3. There's really something to be said to hearing about your favorite restaurants and bars when you were a college kid, now in your 50s, and they're still there and going. Bloomington going strong, Give me Mother Bears, Little Zagreb's, Runcible Spoon, Nick's English Hut, Cafe Pizzaria, Village Deli....
  4. ^^ And yet, some people are still fighting the idea or rule of mask wearing. Amazes me. Have now twice in the past couple of weeks watch someone deliberately walk into grocery stores (mask wearing mandatory) without a mask. I tend to think these are people looking for a confrontation.
  5. True story: I go to Cafe Express with some colleagues. Table next to us: 3 guys and a blond girl. The blond, with a confused expression, vigorously shakes the pepper shaker over her burger several times. She stops, looks at it, and shakes it again. Nothing happens. The guy next to her, looking bemused, takes it from her, and then, you know, twists the top so the pepper comes out. Everyone at my table bursts out laughing.
  6. Have to say one thing the P's have been very good at over the years, and consistently, is keeping their moves close to the vest. They are good with "smoke and mirrors." People think they know what they're about to do, and are often then surprised.
  7. Thanks, I thought my answer was great too
  8. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/30121649/sources-ty-lue-finalizing-five-year-deal-coach-la-clippers Well that's interesting. This article says Billups is a candidate.
  9. From the story Rico linked above -- this give me a big 'meh' reaction. The P's need to stop being so un-splashy. I'd take Billups in a second over another assistant promotion. Edit, I was referring to Finch. There are good assistants out there, don't know too much about Craig and Quinn. INDIANA PACERS Pelicans’ assistant Chris Finch appears to be the frontrunner here. Mike D’Antoni has been linked to this job before the bubble and long before Nate McMillan was fired, and there are reports he is still in consideration. The Pacers have cast a wide net in this search, reportedly talking to more than 20 people about the job. This week that includes Miami assistants Dan Craig and Chris Quinn. There are conflicting reports about Dave Joerger being in the mix for this job, but he appears to be on the outside looking in at this point.
  10. Good grief. I’m going to start trolling you as a Butler lover. Disagree with me all you want, all kinds of players have talked before about the discord Butler caused in their locker rooms. You’re right you know better than all of them, Butler was a saint who was so egregiously wronged for many years. I mean how long has he been in the league? What a travesty. Give me a break. I am already on record saying SOME of the ridicule thrown his way was wrong, that he showed this season that he can be a real team player but if you honestly believe the many years of his locker room and very public ridiculing of teammates was him being a saint and everyone around him was wrong then you’re being extremely naive. But go ahead, dis me all you want
  11. Good topic and a number of good thoughts in this thread. I'm in my early 50s and am often exhausted, but find like comments above that exercise -- really any exercise -- helps. Endorphins from exercising give you energy, take away exercise and your energy drops fast. One thing I've started doing is minimally a 60-second plank every day, with good form. It's only 60 seconds (though I usually do 2 a day) but man, it helps your core and overall balance and that leads to mood. Also, get sun. Get outside even if for 10-15 minutes a day, walk, jog, play with the dog or whatever, I've found that for me when I am stuck in my office or home office and don't get outside regularly that's also draining on my energy. I don't take supplements, at least yet. But makes sense to look into them along with getting a physical and having your T levels checked out.
  12. Butler was on several teams he wasn't with a bunch of prima donnas except in Chicago, he clashed with players, coaches and ownership every single year consistently until this year. No bum rap, he was a problem. But he matured and he found a good fit with strong leadership -- you don't f with Riley.
  13. OK, Butler was outstanding this year and especially in the bubble/playoffs. But -- he was routinely lambasted basically every year, on every team he played on, until this year in Miami. At some point just liking the shiny new thing needs to consider that shiny new thing isn't so new. Butler found the perfect fit in Miami, for him, including strong -- Riley -- management and complimentary players for his game. And he finally matured as a player. Vic was the perfect fit for the P's, and his game, when he joined the P's, and he and the P's excelled. Then it turned into his extended injury situation and question marks surrounding whether he'd return to that form. Vic fell out of the sky to the P's. But things changed. The P's need at least 2 star-level players. They had that in Vic, at least until his injury situation. Where they go from here is a big question mark.
  14. Unfortunately Reggie had to keep going up against MJ — after the Knicks and when he was in his prime. That series where he out-dueled MJ in Indy but lost in Chicago (I think 98) was fantastic
  15. Logan’s run is awful lol - funny, I had this memory of it being a cool movie, went back and watched it not long ago, and immediately noticed that the inside scenes are in a hotel, I think a holiday inn. Open atrium where the exposed elevators go up and down! Then there’s the bizarre completely random sex scenes (this must be Rico’s appeal 😁).
  16. I'm stopping by tomorrow for dinner. 😁
  17. Calipari to the Pacers! I kid I kid! Still kills me that Artest screwed that season up with the Brawl in the Palace, P's were a championship contender with that team.
  18. Yeah I agree. Other than Durant to GS they built that team beautifuly. And Building around Dirk in Dallas.
  19. Just worth pointing out that these "articles" talk about "rumblings" and "rumors." They may or may not be true. The article does not "state" that VO has been wanting out since January. I may be quibbling. I'm not following this saga closely. I haven't seen an article actually confirming that Vic has asked to be traded (if it's out there ok, haven't seen it), or when. Two guys, Woj and Brian Windhorst, tend to have genuine, confirmed information.
