  1. Was looking at some NBA stats over lunch, here are some pretty crazy ones at this point

    - Jokic Leads the League in assists/game at 10. Crazy, 6'11 Center w/10 apg?? and Doncic is at 9.5

    - Sabonis leads the League in mpg at 37.8 - workhorse

    - PG and Luke Kennard, teammates both are shooting over 50% on treys

    - Myles Turner leads the League by a wide margin at 4.2 blocks/game (12 games)

    - Andre Drummond is averaging 15 rebounds/game

    Interesting convo about energy.

I think it's always important to remember that no energy source is 100% perfect. All will have their downsides. New energy needs a chance to evolve as technology develops.

I think experimentation and innovation are a good thing. We get caught up in 'what's the best right now', but I think we need to be of the mindset that one or a few of these can developed further and  lead to a better future.

For example, I've mentioned before that I geek out on science podcasts. I gravitate towards those that a 'futurist' in nature. In regards to energy, most scientist believe that we'll eventually be able to harness the sun's energy. When that day comes the entire planet will be powered at no cost. There was a figure that went something like: if we could harness one millionth of ONE sun ray's energy we could power the entire planet for 1,000 years. If technology and investment in solar leads to this then I think it's important to let innovation develop. It's counter-productive and rather obtuse to say solar (or any energy source: wind, nuclear, natural gas, etc.) is not the answer because, at the moment, it's not as powerful, safe, reliable, takes up too much land, kills birds, etc. We are in the infancy of sustainable/clean energy, there's no telling where any of these industries will go or what they can lead to. The cream will eventually rise to the top.

Japan, China and Asia in general have been moving ahead of the game in solar. The worlds largest floating solar plants, and India is getting into it now. China and Japan are 1 and 2 in overall installed solar capacity, and now you're getting floating solar linked to  hydroelectric plants. Since the 2015 Paris Agreement solar farm building has surged worldwide, and Germany at times has met 50% of its daily energy useage through solar. The technology, PV and CSP, has been around but think it's pretty clear now it, along with other clean, renewable energy, is taking off.

Japan’s Yamakura plant is made up of almost 60,000 solar panels

I think the Clips are the best team on paper and may win it all , but until to unseat the King still an uphill battle but I think the Champ comes out of the West again.

Lakers and LBJ/Unibrow are the 100lb gorilla in the room. Also think the champ will come out of the West and at this point really can't say whether I think the Clips will be good enough to unseat the Lakers, who got better over the offseason, but if they stay healthy I think they can. Kawhi is no longer missing back to backs, he's fully healthy again, the full team is playing regularly, they also got better (imo) despite losing Harrell, and PG is clearly on a mission after falling apart and being ridiculed last season, he's playing at least now, at the top of his game.

I dont feel bad at all. I hope they implode and will enjoy watching it.

The only thing that could possibly make me pull for them is if they do get to the Finals. As a Celtics fan, I can't have the Lakers getting title #18.

I think the Clips will present a bigger challenge this season in the West. They're coming together and Lue has set up their offense better. Gotta throw in my PG love (lol) - last night 17, 12 assists, 7 boards, 2 blocks, another highly efficient game, leads the team in FG% at 51.4%, and he's shooting 50.5% from the arc (on 109 shots). Clips are, imo, turning into a very good team. Ibaka and Batum's solid veteran play and Kennard's and Reggie Jackson's offense makes them deeper than they were, and they are playing in sync and with chemistry

    Can the Mavs/pacers game be a 2 on 2 with Sabonis/Brogdon vs Luka/KP?

I assume Levert, Warren, and Turner are out.

The Mavs are made up of their G-League guys, KP, Luka and few of their secondary bench guys.  Maybe Hardaway will play with his injured groin and shoot 0 for 12. I expect that DFS, Maxi, Richardson and Powell won't play though richardson may have a shot to return.

Saw that 0-12 the other day didn't know about his groin pull, ouch.

Dale Davis career highlights...all dunks lol...remind you of someone ha! Inappropriate music so mute....

Edit....Mark Jackson could seriously pass the ball!

I so miss the Davis brothers (not real brothers of course that’s just how we referred to them). They were seriously imposing.

Kyrie played without the ball quite a bit with Lebron...he has played more a sg position quite a bit. Obviously ego will be huge. Durant is pretty dang unselfish....not sure about the other two...I’m sure if things go well it will work ok but Kyrie and Harden probably will have words if they start losing.

Harden is not LeBron. Like I said I could be wrong, but Harden and Kyrie are ball dominant dudes and Kyrie is a head case. Then there’s Kyrie’s awful experience in Boston, not to mention his bizarre behavior so far this year. But for sure the talent is unquestionable, so we’ll see.

  8. Vic picking right up with the Rockets, 13-23 for 32 points, 9 assists, 5 boards (did have 7 TO's).

Kind of cool to see him playing with EJ -- Gordon back, went 9-17 for 21. Two all time IU greats on the floor together.

Rockets are missing a piece, but not far off from being a pretty good squad given time.

KD doesn’t mind playing without the ball honestly. Harden Irving will be interesting though. I mean Harden played with Chris Paul so it can work.

Agree, but CP3 and Kyrie are 2 very different players. Will be interesting for sure

This Brooklyn Milwaulkie game has been really good.

I’m really interested to see if this Harden - Kyrie - KD experiment works or flops.  I thought the Harden - Westbrook experiment would fail, there’s only 1 basketball. I think this experiment will fail too because I don’t see how Kyrie and Harden’s games can mesh well. Ball dominant, and KD is as well. But I do think, like tonight, that Harden and KD are dangerous, and I kind of think the 3 will do well early on, on the energy, but I think it goes South. But I could be wrong, interested to watch it play out

I'm 53 and what bugs me the most is needing reading glasses. I don't need them all the time but if the lighting is dim and or the print too small, I'm reaching for a flashlight and or my cheaters. Reminds me of my father, lol. The other thing I have just started getting in the last year or so is plantars fasciitis. Mine is not too bad and I can put on a sleeve and it goes away.

Oh yeah, relatively all of the sudden, I started having trouble reading very small print, like a medicine label or fine print directions. CVS reading glasses do the trick ...

  12. I seem to attract weird car issues out of left field.

So my Jeep (4 inch lifted unlimited sport), which is basically what I think of as a real car/vehicle — stock, like an engine and dials not a computer with wheels), started doing what my shop called the “death whobble.”

Turns out this is a thing. You can Google jeep death whobble. The steering wheel starts to shake like crazy and you have to quickly slow down sometimes to almost a complete stop for it to go away. Keeping it simple, usually it’s loose suspension components / track bar).

Take it to the shop, some parts replaced, drive away and bam, death whobble jumps up a few miles down the road. Take it back, they put it back up and can’t find anything wrong — except my front tires (Nito Trail Grapplers 35 inch), are seriously worn. A couple new tires later, the death whobble is gone, it was just the tires, lol

Yet I’m not sure we will beat either one of those teams...so what does that say about us? I’m sick of hearing Archie carry on and on about our defense. Sure we can play better sometimes on defense...but let’s be real...if you struggle to score 70pts a game it doesn’t matter how good your defense is you aren’t going to win enough games to be successful at IU. Maybe drop the defense crap and just have a week focused on offensive execution and shooting. He has this defense engrained in their brain no doubt...how about we improve what we suck at.

It’s like as an institution IU overcompensated, from all O and little D, CTC, to all D and little O CAM. Lol, I’m exaggerating... but maybe not much. It’s really how we underemphasize the arc and how the shooting is imbalanced right now. Having AF return and immediately take 15 shots for 14 points while guys like Hunter and Leal, both coming on strong coming into the game, get taken mostly out of the offense (Hunter had only 3 shots until late - and that despite that he was 2-3 from deep) really limits our O and once again the team struggled to score. What I see is not players failing to execute but a limited offensive game plan focusing heavily on pushing the ball inside to TJD and not balancing 3-point shooting. Meanwhile PU lights us up from the arc

WTH? No way. What is the session comprised of? I hate to be one of those people, but you can probably YouTube most of the exercises and buy the annoying little wobbly thing that all PTs seem to use.

I have no idea. They called me and told me it would be $660 a session. So I got the prescription to find my own rehab. Crazy. Wobbly thing haha
