Wonderful get for the Pacers. Lavert is a 18-5-5 guy all day. Fits our offense better...more willing passer and a much better 3pt shooter. Sad that we traded him for Thad Young to begin with...so we are finally getting him back. He won’t lock down like Dipo but long run we get two years on a team friendly deal for a border line all star caliber player.

LaVert is a career 33% 3-point shooter currently shooting 35%. He hit 36% last year. Oladipo is a 35% career 3-pt shooter currently shooting 36%

They could win a title or it could be a complete disaster, but as a Celtics fan I'm pretty confident it will be the latter.

They'll go on a run early because its new, but come playoff time I can't see this working.

But Kyrie was so good in Boston!

    😀

Yeah I imagine in will be 'fun' for them at first. I could be wrong, but I just don't see how Irving, Harden and Durant co-exist well. All are ball dominant, and especially Irving and Harden. I didn't think the Harden-Westbrook experiment would work, this actually looks worse to me.

  3. I'm going to walk back a bit my initial thinking on Houston. I've been thinking Houston is a mess. Well, it is -- with Harden.

This may actually end up a win win, for Vic, and the P's. Houston has picks and now without Harden a team that can share the ball better and without the idiotic drama. Interested to see how the Rockets re-shape going forward.

Pretty comparable. Vic is a career 35% 3-point guy and Levert is 34%. Pacers have plenty of shooters.

Vic is a better shooter. Levert is younger, healthier, and probably a better long-term fit, especially considering the talk surrounding Vic's contract and interest in other teams, even if the talk was overblown (I think it was but still)

In your opinion, what is the best defense?   What would you run with this IU team?

Best D? Completely depends on the coaching system and team. I'm fine with CAM's D -- It's a top 15 D. But we have to adjust better to 4 and 5-out spread offenses, we have to learn how to extend the pack line better.

The pack line is supposed to be able to extend out and push the 3 point shooter out off the line to keep that from happening.  Maybe we don't have the athletes or are still learning the system or just have had bad luck when it comes to when it comes to other team shooting against us.

I honestly don't know, since out defense is pretty good in my opinion.

It's not simply three-point shooting. In the Neb game Neb sagged off guys like Galloway and Race, and then, as planned, got out running on the break off the long misses. They also spread out their offense on the other end. Teams are beating the pack line not by just hoisting 3's, but by going 4 or 5-out which spreads out the pack line and opens lanes. Hell I learned that coaching youth basketball, it's a traditional way to play against the pack line, in youth basketball it's touted as positionless ball to help teach all players how to move the ball on offense. This isn't a criticism of the pack line, Bennet, Sean Miller et al run it, it's just that the way the players extend/move within the pack line to adjust to spread offenses is something they have to adjust to.

Last Monday, 6 hours before returning to ASU, my daughter totalled my wifes Toyota Highlander. It was not her fault and no one was hurt. The Toyota was paid for and we anticipated keeping for at least another 5 years as it fit our needs and has always been reliable.  All of a sudden, we needed a plan B.

Since we go to MI many weekends in the summer, we needed something big enough for my German Shepherds crate in the back and the mother in law (she doesn't need a crate anymore :D ). I would have liked an electric but the ones out now (Tesla Y, Mustang Mach E) aren't big enough. There are roughly 25 3rd row SUV models out there so time for some research.  I start with Motor Trend, Car and Driver, US News and World Report reviews. Toyota was generally around 5th or lower with the Honda Pilot close by. At the top were Kia, Mazda, Hyundai, Subaru and VW. Spent a couple evenings last week doing test drives. I liked the Mazda but my wife thought the seats were uncomfortable. I thought the Subaru would be a good combination of safety, technology, winter driving, comfort, resale, etc but she couldn't stand the turbo whine from the 4 cyl.

A week ago I never thought I'd be a Kia owner, but the Kia had the best combination of luxury, safety, driving features, technology, 100k mile warranty, above average reliability?? and my wife like the way they looked. Only issue was they are relatively new and in high demand so hardly any are available and couldn't get our exact choice of preferred options.  Dealer had one coming in the following day so we jumped on it as it was mostly what we wanted.

There is an eco driving mode for the wife and a sport mode for me .

So there I was, last Thursday evening, buying a KIA Telluride during the IU game while following the play by play on espn and trying to keep up on the game thread. We have only had it a few days but we both like it so far. My wife was amazed she gets text messages on her phone if the doors are left unlocked. I had it waxed and a ceramic sealant put on yesterday to protect it from the snow coming tomorrow. The color is kind of cool. Very little metallic in it and depending on lighting can look white, silver or gray.

I'd still put the crate in for the mother in law.

In conference, our split is 3 & 3.  Not sure we have anything to complain about there.  Outside of conference, we had 4 neutral site, and only 1 true road game (FSU).  Other teams, like Michigan and Minnesota DEFINITELY benefitted from a home heavy schedule.  But, with no fans, that's not as meaningful as it would normally be - HOME COOKING aside.  I have to say, we probably are who we are at this point - MAYBE

    Fixed it for you lol

It's a wacky season for sure, whether/to what extent playing almost every game at home, on your own floor, with your recognize sight lines, and as in Wisc with you absurdly prejudicial refs, benefits a team is a question we can all debate for sure, but for me, absolutely believe playing almost all your games at home benefits a team

To be clear I think he will be in the NBA, but Juwan Morgan didn't get drafted at all and has always been a much better perimeter players than TJD is currently.

Of course TJD is better inside than Juwan, but at 6'9 he isn't getting draft just because he can score inside alone.

Agree, though Juwan’s outside shooting numbers weren’t good. TJD has barely shown an outside game (though I think his shooting could be good), definitely needs to

If he is a 4 in the NBA then he has a looooooong way to go.

He’s 6’9, can’t be a five, but of course the League is now mostly small ball. He has to show/develop his shooting and finish over both shoulders. Juwan Morgan is in the League. How many here thought he would be? TJD absolutely can play in the nba, with continuing work, but again whether he’s a first rounder still in question - I think he can get there but we’ll see

What did he do in the 4th when the game was slipping away. That’s the thing...people think he is a really really good player. But if he wants to be one of the elites he needs to raise his game in big moments and when the game/season is on the line. Until he does that he won’t be seen the way he sees himself.

Oh lord bro he has dominated all kinds of 4th quarters, lead the league in shots to win the game. Raise in big moments? No that’s just wrong
