I don't know, but I did hear a good joke on the subject the other day...and being we have a few lawyers on the board, I'll sincerely apologize in advance...

What happens when you give a lawyer Viagra?

    He gets taller 😉

What do you call 10,000 lawyers chained together at the bottom of the ocean?

    a good start

    Thats some wild stuff.

I think I was in 3rd or 4th grade and me and a cousin were taking turns pitching and hitting. He was a high pitcher at the time. I accidentally beaned him in the ribs.  He got mad about it and drilled me under the left eye with a fastball, I wasnt wearing a helmet either.

    Ow

My hips are starting to bug me a bit while sleeping. I am more concerned about my brain though. My head got knocked around a bit growing up.

The worst was a dirtbike accident in high school.  All I remember was a truck pulling out in front of me and then waking up in a ditch.  I never went to the Hospital for it. I broke my arm the year before and wasnt going to scred up another football season so I refused to go. Could barely walk for a couple weeks after.

You sound like me as a kid. At 16 I went through the windshield of my friends station wagon, doing 50 on the roads around Lake Monroe, as he lost control and went straight into an oak tree in someone's front yard. Both of us went through the windshield. If we'd been wearing seat belts we'd be dead, as the station wagon completely folded in on itself. I woke up in an ambulance on the way to the hospital, ended up with stitches in my scalp but no other injuries (besides the concussion). My friend broke his arm going over the steering wheel -- he told me how the owner of the house was sitting on his porch as we rolled up his lawn....

Also got hit by an IU campus bus when riding my bike as a teenager, broke my ribs. I taped them up myself so I didn't have to miss any hockey. My mom noticed me taping myself up one day....

I wish I could tell you it gets better with age, but I think we all know it doesn't...

I get to undergo this little procedure (cervical disc replacement...two of them between C5-C6 which is ruptured and C6-C7 which is bulging) later this month...

Ugh. My wife had to have back surgery years ago to deal with a ruptured disk, no fun at all but for her it was effective. Hope yours go well.

  5. OK so posting this thread to laugh at annoying health issues and aging.

I'm older, but not old, lol. Early 50's. Have always been active/athletic, now dealing with an annoying injury, aggravated by annoying doc.

Early summer 'tweaked' my right ankle playing pick up basketball. Got worse, can't run, play ball, hurts even walking. Tried a boot I had lying around the house, no help (sorry Crean).

After months of Covid delay, finally got an appointment with a sports orthopedic (doc for Houston Dynamo, had treated my son's soccer-knee injuries). X-rays showed arthritis, from a decades' old injury, leaving little cartilege/room for the bones. Doc says sorry, you're old now, you have arthritis in the ankle.

Told the doc thanks, but that's not it. It has to be tendon or ligament damage, I can't even raise up on my toes, no strength, real pain in the front of the ankle, it's not compression pain like bones hitting.

Had to convince him to let me have an MRI. And what does the MRI show -- three ruptured tendons. Torn, damaged tendons.

Meet again with the ankle guy and what does he say -- so, did you see the arthritis in the ankle in the MRI?

I'm like, uh, yeah, did you see the three torn tendons?

He answers, yes, but did you see the arthritis?

I'm like, what? is this about you're wanting to be right?? What about the torn tendons??

He says, well, since your ankle is arthritic, I'd say do nothing.

I'm like, seriously? What about rehabbing the ankle?

He says, oh, well, I guess we could do that. You think? Lol, getting older is a bitch -- and so is dealing with docs.

Don't forget Jaylen Brown. Averaging 28.0ppg on the season with a 27.89 PER.

In 3 games last week he averaged 32.7ppg on 70% shooting from the field and 52% from 3.

He's actually leading the Celtics in scoring through 7 games.

    OG is better.

    😁😁

I honestly would have never dreamed TB would make it much less become a force.  He had a crazy motor.  Just thought he was too stiff and wouldn't be able to guard.

Pretty sure Dame just called Curry mortal the day before.  Opps.

A great example of a guy who many thought wouldn't make it, who declared and then continued to grow his game. He's a solid outside shooter to go with his inside game, impressive continuing growth as a player.

Quick question. Is Kenpom the stats we don't use because they use last year data? Wasn't sure which service was the best. Here's the most recent Kenpom numbers for Big 10 is why I ask.

    4-Wisconsin 6-Iowa 7-Illinois 10-Michigan 11-Ohio State 20-Rutgers 23-Indiana 34-Minnesota 36-Purdue 45-Maryland 49-Penn Sate 52-Michigan St 54-Northwestern 120-Nebraska

It’s a gradual process with KenPom— his metrics use last year stats, so at the beginning of the season they are next to meaningless, but as the season progresses they reflect the current season strength of schedule, offense and defensive comparative strength etc.

I am just not a fan of VO and his game and when he tries to take the game over it kills the team.  We were up 969-93 and the Knicks are on a 9-0 run and ate up 6 with 21 seconds to go.

What an amazing comeback, after being down 876 points

You think Texas would like to have Barnes and Mack Brown back?  Consistent top-10 teams in both sports and they wear out their welcome.

Always more to the story, but wow.  Hope we get the opportunity to become complacent with top-10 teams in both sports soon!

I'm here in Texas and never understood canning Barnes. He had them in the tourney every year -- as in every single year (I think except 2012). He got them Kevin Durant. At one point he was UT's all-time winningest coach. He had at least 20 wins, usually more, almost every season. They were always competing at the top of the Big 12. But they couldn't beat KU, KU always would win the Big 12, and kind of like Crean Barnes wasn't getting them past the SW16, so the admin got greedy and pushed Barnes out. Not well thought out, Barnes is a very good recruiter and a good long-term proven bball coach in a football state.

  11. Here's a part of what Stephens said:

“I think Romeo is going to be an NBA player for a long time,” Stevens said in a Wednesday video press conference. “I don’t think there’s any question about that. He’s got a great feel. He’s got great athleticism. He knows the game, he works at the game, he’s a very good worker. So, I think about it more in terms of he’s just missing half of his second season, or whatever it is, and I think that that’s hard when you already went through injuries as a rookie.

“You know, he pulled his hamstring a minute into the stint versus Miami (in the Eastern Conference Finals), so like, that’s frustrating. But as far as big-picture, long-term, I would venture to guess that he’s going to have a long career based off who he is, his work ethic, and his ability.”

Boston picked up Romeos 3rd year...not unexpected but good news none the less.

Saw an interview recently with Stephens, saying he sees Romeo as having a long NBA career, that he's an excellent worker, and that he's just had bad breaks with repeated injuries. Stephens is pretty clearly high on Romeo. This is what I've been saying for a while now, Romeo hasn't had the chance to be healthy and really show what he can do for Boston, while surrounded by excellent players who are themselves playing well, but Stephens sees him as a long-term, excellent player in his own right and people should be more patient with his development, he needs to get fully healthy and then, with his work ethic and talent, capitalize on the opportunities Stephens will give him.

For those who don't know, Romeo had surgery on his wrist in September
