  1. I think this is a team (barring injuries) that will get better each game. They have a ton of new players. But I agree, they have to get the running game going early.
  2. What we really needed was some/any push and a way quicker handoff and violence by Henderson. If not, a bootleg. I agree though that Turner might have been a better choice. But the OL got zero push.
  3. Here's what I saw. 1st half: A nervous FR QB over throwing wide open guys. A defense that got burnt by the fastest WRs they will see all year. 2nd half: A more relaxed QB making some big plays. An OL that still needs work in the run game. A defense that's pretty legit. A good offensive game plan. A QB who is still a bit slow executing the game plan, including the 4th down stuff. He needs to get out of the snap much faster and Henderson has to be way more decisive and violent. OL got blown off the line immediately. Wasting TOs because you have a FR QB. Overall, this team looks decent and I think they have the weapons on both sides to get better each week. Why worry about anything else at this point.
  4. Ryder Anderson made the Giants practice squad.Tegray Scales made the Bengals practice squad.Coy Cronk made the Jags practice squad.Raheem Layne made the Chargers practice squadCaleb Jones made the Packers practice squadM. McCarey-Ball made the 49ers practice squad. Tiawan Mullen signed to Eagles practice squad
  5. Eight former Hoosiers are on NFL rosters after the cuts, including: – OL Dan Feeney, Chicago Bears (7th season, 2017, 3rd-round draft pick) – TE Peyton Hendershot, Dallas Cowboys (2nd season, 2022, undrafted) – TE Ian Thomas, Carolina Panthers (6th season, 2018, 4th-round draft pick) – WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Tennessee Titans (4th season, 2020, undrafted) – OL Caleb Jones, Green Bay Packers (2nd season, 2022, undrafted) – LB Micah McFadden, New York Giants (2nd season, 2022, 5th-round draft pick) – S Raheem Layne, Los Angeles Chargers (2nd season, 2022, undrafted) – LB Cam Jones, Kansas City Chiefs (Rookie, 2023, undrafted)
  6. The key to having any sort of real shot, just like any games against the better teams is getting on the board early, and getting some stops on defense. My god, would it be nice to get some stops on defense. Any time IU has a decent defense, they have a shot. You have to be able to make some plays on defense to beat anyone.
  7. You gotta pay the troll toll to get into this boy's "hole". You gotta pay the troll toll to get in. You want this baby boy's hole, you gotta pay the troll toll.
  8. I understand that. But I assumed the there aren't enough of us that feel that way without more success on the field would be those on these boards. I personally rather talk about an IUFB game against OSU that's a week away than talk about whether an IUBB 2025 recruit has scheduled a visit or not. This first game of any season of any team is always a bit of an unknown regardless of the track record. Let's see if CTA (and the team) can pull some "magic" out of their a**. And by magic, I really just mean some inspired and competitive play.
  9. Seems like what happens every year the past few seasons, our best players get hurt earlier in the season making it almost impossible to compete later in the season. For IU, it would almost be better to play the non conference schedule at the end of the season. All "kidding" aside, I am usual optimistic the first few games unless we get utterly destroyed, which could happen in this game. But I have ZERO expectations for the OSU game, as a result I am excited to see what happens. It could be more of what we have seen the past couple, but for some reason I think we'll compete. I say this based on the transfers being older and probably hungrier to prove something to themselves and the rest of the team. Staying in this game (and staying healthy) could really, really bolster the team's confidence. Seems early games have a lot more fluky plays in regards to TOs and special teams too.
  10. I understand. But I'd rather the first game be OSU than ISU. Let's see what we've got right off the bat. Staying competitive with a top 5 team might help with confidence and be better preparation for success later in the season. The goal (for us fans) should be to compete and stay healthy. I am anxious to see what we've got.
  11. Seems pretty quiet around here considering IUFB starts in less than two weeks. I know people are pessimistic, but if there's any time to have some hope it's before the season starts. Go Hoosiers
  12. I think this season will show whether CTA really can be the lead guy at a Power 5 school. Zero expectations.
  13. I just don't see them paying CTA $20M to walk away. So I don't think he gets canned this year unless they lose every game or win two and are not competitive.
  14. Right now I think the over is actually 3.5. If we somehow beat Louisville, the season gets a bit more interesting.
  15. I really think this off season has had a different vibe and I like it. Not a bunch of hyperbole, focused on the basics. I am going to take the over.
  16. I would be super leery of the Verizon home internet. I am sure it's fine most of the time, but relying on cell service for the internet would concern me, at least speed wise. But this just based on a little research I have done. I work from home a lot, so I just wouldn't trust it to be a consistently good connection, especially for stuff like video streaming. That being said, I don't know anyone who has it.

Just a bit less than our OC. https://footballscoop.com/news/the-highest-paid-offensive-line-coaches-in-college-football-2023-edition

  19. I just remember back in the day, a few posters were not kind to Wilson. Seems like a lot of things had been covered up then once the player complaints started to trickle out, that was the end of him.
  20. Curious to see what others think about this? https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/urban-meyer-on-why-iu-forced-kevin-wilson-to-resign-that-was-all-crap/ I was super disappointed when they got rid of him, but also heard the stories about him being a total lush. Urban Meyer doesn't seem like a guy who would "do all his homework" based on the past few years.
  21. I check the score throughout. It's really mostly dependent if I have other things to do or not ie Saturday/Sunday games.
