I generalize based on experience. Seems like cops have more of a tendency to shoot people when they don't comply, regardless of the type of "crime" taking place. And if MM was really "threatening" people, why wasn't he charged with that? And I don't really think this was that big of a deal. I just would have moved on.

I have had a gun pulled out on me and pointed at the back of my head at a standard traffic stop because my friends and I fit some sort of "profile". If MM was "swatted" by some Taco Bell "Karen" file a complaint against the store and corporate, don't get shot or arrested over it. If a cop tells you to take a hike, just do it regardless of what you think of their tactics and reasoning. I am not defending the cops. I would give MM the same advice I would give anyone. Don't give some sh*t in his pants Barney Fife college cop a chance to blow you away in a Taco Bell over some "misunderstanding" etc. There is a time and place to hold your own. 2:30 at night in a Taco Bell parking lot is not it.

I have had a few unpleasant and unwarranted run ins with the cops over the years. That being said, it's not a great idea to not do what the cops tell you to do. Don't make a bad night worse.

Mentioned on fan boards is A LOT different than being mentioned by ADs and donors. CTA just had no proven history to take over an historical good program, let's get real here. Maybe after 5 or so 9+ wins seasons would he be mentioned for a real top notch job.

I don't really believe this was true though. Nobody is scooping up Indiana's coach after a year or two unless they go undefeated in a non covid season. You'd have to be super desperate.

I think this recruitment proves it's not necessarily a tell tale sign if a recruit follows or is followed by Mark Cuban or the ball boy etc.

I think we're already seeing that it's not working like it used to because of NIL. But it's still something to show/tell recruits.

UK's pipeline to the NBA has "produced" big stars in the NBA, IU not so much. Woody has to keep going after these guys regardless. Everyone wants IU to have deep runs and tourney/conference success, so they have to recruit and pull in a few big guns.

Targeting top guys is a good strategy because it sets up IU in the transfer portal. If it doesn't work out for Boogie (and others) at their initial school, IU already has a relationship. We'll just have to live with a decent number of misses.

Sleep is probably more important than anything. Too little, too much, or bad quality greatly impacts people's health. Those who "sleep when they die" die much earlier than people who get the recommended hours sleep. People don't take sleep as seriously as they should.

I think what people question is not the extension, but the buyout. Because of the lack of sustained success by any head coach at IU, a buyout that large seems pretty outrageous for a head coach who had zero head coaching history. I was for the extension, that buyout is nuts. It should be half.
