  1. And now many open looks both Galloway and X turn down. They just bull rush into the clogged lane. MM stinks on defense, but at least he's taking open threes. If/when he starts hitting them it will be a huge boost to the offense. In the meantime, he can't really play the last ten minutes of the game because he's completely lost on defense.
  2. Yet, so IUFB it's crazy. I just feel bad for the players.
  3. So you're saying Army has a better defense than UConn. I like it. I like it a lot.
  4. I am not basing it on that. I am basing it on the eye test and what others at practice have witnessed and reported, he's our best shooter. Why not slide him over to the four whenever Ware or Reneau are out? This guy is not Perea or Hollowell, that much is obvious even in the little I have witness. I believe what @DC2345 said, he's still in the doghouse which makes more sense.
  5. And rebounding, and defending the three...
  6. He needs to play though. Why is he starting if he's just going to ride the bench the rest of the game? Woody needs to figure stuff out. Right now there doesn't seem to be much thought into who's playing when. The only thing apparent is he doesn't seem to trust anyone besides Cupps and the other starters. That's not going to work. Mbako needs to play.
  7. Gotcha. Whether they said it or not, probably did, if they are projected first round picks, they will leave.
  8. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10090255-2024-nba-mock-draft-top-60-prospect-projections MM 14, Ware 20. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10095458-2024-nba-mock-draft-full-predictions-as-college-basketball-tips-off Another one with Ware 22, MM 28. Most mocks have both in the first round. https://nbadraftroom.com/p/2024-nba-mock-draft/
  9. It would be very entertaining if someone brought this up on "X". Just sit back and watch him blather on and on. "Now that Coach Knight has passed, are you willing to admit it was you that sent CNN the Neil Reed tape? My "sources" confirm it was..."
  10. From what I recall, CNN/SI was investigating why multiple big recruits/players (Reed, Recker etc) were leaving the program (back then it was not common, ha! even though guys left IU quite a bit). I think they then spoke to Reed who brought up the choking incident? So then they started snooping around looking for proof because multiple coaches and players etc. denied the incident ever happened, but I think CNN/SI were aware that IU video tapped all of their practices. Then an unnamed source mailed them the tape. People thought it was Ron Felling, he says he did not, but knows what happened wasn't right. So I don't think anyone knows who actually sank Knight with the tape. Without that, the story is a blurb similarly to the rumor that Knight punched Alford.
  11. Doesn't really matter if it was a choke or grabbing to be honest. He shouldn't be grabbing players by the neck. I consider myself pretty tough when it comes "corporal" punishment and if a coach grabbed me by the neck, I wouldn't be too thrilled to say the least. Would I "tell on" the coach? Probably not, but I sure as hell would say, you do that again... Reed may have been sensitive, but things/society changes (for good and bad) and Knight did not. Part of being a leader is also understanding the people you are leading. Knight's reluctance to every apologize for anything to anyone was one of if not his biggest flaw. Reed basically died as a result of this if you ask me. Knight could have easily said "I was wrong. Leave that kid alone".
  12. There's a lot of people who think they are unique because they have some sort of political or ideological opinion when in reality, they're a dime a dozen in the trollverse. What made DD unique and provided him a career is that he played and coached basketball under CBK at Indiana. Most people don't really care about his non basketball societal "hot takes". He might, and that's great for him I guess, but in today's world I think most people are looking for an escape from the political and ideological hellgate that 24 hour "media" has become. But a lot of these blowhards are bored or isolated more than ever (ironically) so they search for and find comfort from those that seemingly think and talk as they do. IMHO it's just a way to stay miserable and find the worst in everything. You'll notice very little of what he says is positive. Much like a lot of pseudo celebrities, they become their media persona full time and it's both phony and exhausting.
  13. I think you're right. I used to like him.
  14. I agree with all this but at the same time he's just a provocateur/troll. It's how he makes his living just like a lot of windbags these days. It's only about getting attention and sh*t stirring. I really don't get why any IU fan would give him the time of day the way he's ironically trashed IU. Without IU he wouldn't have a coaching or "media" career. Imagine if every IU fan ignored him? He'd have zero audience.
  15. No disrespect to him etc, but I would say choking/neck grabbing Neil Reed tainted his legacy. Then blaming everyone but himself after the fact. Lots of finger pointing and grudges, not a lot of self reflection. I know people love to bash IU's administration and rightfully so (for some things), but there wasn't much else they could do in that situation. It was RMK's Woody Hayes moment and it tarnished a lot of what he had accomplished and sucked for bad IU fans. It was sad. I'm glad he came back but it's was a shame it didn't happen much, much, sooner. #RIPGeneral.
  16. Being in Central Time Zone, I am normally still working at 5:30. Then I have to walk the dog, so needless to say, I don't like these start times either.
  17. If we go 6-6 after what's happened, I will give CTA a lot of credit. That would be a pretty big accomplishment. I was fairly optimistic to start the season and 100% lost it after the MD and Rutgers games. So I remain very, very cautious regardless of our perceived chances. The most nerve racking thing is you know all of these games are going down to the wire, or we get drilled. It would be nice to kick ILL's a** to get some really good momentum for the MSU game. Get beat by ILL and I could see us imploding the last couple of games. So once again, ILL is pretty much a must win game. As much as I have complained about CTA, win out and I will be super impressed. In reality, win 2 of the last 3, and the season isn't the dumpster fire it looked like a few weeks ago. But lose two or all of them, and he's in huge trouble. That being said, I will be watching. Go Hoosiers!
  18. Imagine what his record would be if he could coach and/or replace coordinators with good ones?
  19. How are we flush with money and when did the athletic department give the geology dept $26M?
  20. He's definitely been hit or miss with some recruiting info, but his info for stuff like this seems more dialed in. I recall he was the first to talk about Woody and Fife not getting along.
  21. According to TOS it seems things might already be in motion to some degree, FWIW.
  22. Pun intended, this ship has sailed. The captain could not right the ship and he's been given 2-3 seasons to show that he was up to the job. I gave him the benefit of the doubt in 2021. But these past two seasons show he isn't capable of turning it around. If you watch this IU team, they don't have an identity. Not good on offense, defense or specials teams. Rutgers just ran the ball down their throat. It was like Rutgers was 2005 Wisconsin. Allen is a D guy and he lets a bottom tier Big Ten team do that. Not acceptable. They are getting man handled by the worst teams in the league. I'm not sure what happen after 2020, but there's no more letting CTA figure it out. Good man does not equal a good head football coach.
