I agree fundamentally, but it does lead to excitement at the end of games and for the most part the team hacking/behind doesn't win.

Bitch about Woody, fine. But posting a poll or saying a player should be suspended or kicked off the team for some rough play (yes maybe even dirty) on social media is ridiculous. IU fans tend to be too righteous and it doesn't do the program any good. Addition: He got booted from the game. IU lost. I'm not sure why IU fans would want him to miss more games. Potentially throw away any chance IU has left this season. Some IU fans have failed to realize there has been a sea change in college sports. In the player empowerment era, it is not a good idea to take the extreme hard line every time a player messes up. Why handcuff yourself even more? All the hardliners have zero clue what was overlooked back in the day because information/news wasn't as easily accessible/available, the coaches were buddies with the beat writers or had a relationship with the local law enforcement. Now every time some kid messes up the whole world hears about and if there is a play ie X's bird check or whatever the video is played online over and over and over and over purely to incite more clicks, more outrage, and more opinions.

The problem with basketball boards is unless they win every game, it's just constant gloom and doom. I am a bigger IUBB basketball fan than an IUFB fan (if I had to rank that is) but the negativity is unbearable and quite frankly takes away from both the fun of the boards and the games. I am not speaking for anyone but myself, but I wanted to chime in on the subject since I rarely check the basketball threads these days unless it's about recruiting.

I think these guys will bring leadership and be quality depth pieces. I don't think every JMU transfer will be starting. Most of these guys have one year of eligibility. This is a smart way to ensure you have a solid base. He's trying to win in year one. It's much more of a risk to bring in guys he doesn't know.

Both him and Banks need to slow down and let the game to them a bit more. Take shots in the flow of the offense.

I just posted something similar on btbanners: I think it's weird that some people don't like this type of attitude. It's exactly what IUFB needs. We've been the doormat in both B1G & CFB forever, like literally. It's time we got a coach who acts, talks, and thinks he's the best, and doesn't back down to anyone. To be the good, you have to believe you are good. He's got me believing. Can you imagine this guy's team going 3-24 in the conference? I can't.

I love all of this. I'm not as old as some of you geezers, but I am old enough and TJD is one of my favorite IU players ever. Went through some lean(er) years and caught a lot of flak but never gave up, got better, and loves IU. I wish he had been surrounded by better players because he deserved a good tourney run as a swan song.
