So I just realized something and thought I would put it out there.  The last week to receive the extra $600 pandemic unemployment insurance will be for the week ending July 25th.

It ends on July 31st which is a Friday so they wont pay on claims filed after that under the current rules.

Saw that so I have put some money back in my savings every week so I will have money when 600 runs out.

Based on location of recruit at time of announcement.

On a little more serious hearing said recruit does not live in Indiana

If it is an out of state player then I would think it would be Miller and I think Memphis is in the central time zone.  Also could be Muhammad which would be in the central time zone as well.

I just pass along what I hear.  No idea how accurate unless it's right then I want credit if not then it's a bad source 😀

A 2021 committment is coming soon according to 2 people that contact me the last few days. Not getting a name . I have been wrong before so if nothing happens soon no big deal but I just want to share and to see if anyone else getting any info as well

I confess I am reclassifying to the class of 2021 from the 1989 class.  Seriously hope it is true and it Kaufman or Miller.

Dont waste the PTO. Your wife can get unemployment.  Will take 2-3 weeks. But I got it for the week I was off. Employers dont want employees taking unemployment and actively discourage it. But the way it's set up right now if she is being forced to quarantine then it is all but guaranteed.  I got $846 after tax for the week I claimed.

Right now I am getting 778 after taxes but the $600 might not be there much longer.  Also if you have any kind vacation or PTO you will have to use that before unemployment kicks in.  I had 64 hours of vacation coming to me and got that in one lump sum.  Since I received that payment I did not get the first 3 weeks I put claims in for.

  5. This virus is not going away right away so we either have to start living with it or just isolate ourselves forever.  If we wait until this whole thing is over then we will be waiting for a long time to start opening things.  Are we just going to just have all the sports from May to October and close everything for the winter.

  6. I have seen where they have said that the regular flue season there are more deaths than what we have seen with this virus  My question is why have we not shut down before in the winter because it is the flue season.  My question is that is all deaths today pretty much being reported as covid deaths.  If something happens to me now and I die will it be reported as a covid death even though I have recovered from it.

    #1 ranked in IN

    Top 100 overall

Kid can flat out play, he had a HUGE tournament last year.

Don't follow baseball recruiting but how many of these top recruits is expected to get drafted high.  So how many of these recruits will actually make it to campus and play at IU.

  8. I went back to the doctor today because I am still having some problems with breathing.  When I now the yard I am really having problems with being out of breath.  Today they did a EKG and some blood work and both came back alright.  I am going to get echo cardiogram and a stress test scheduled in the next couple of days.

Might need a new fathom. Kids don't reclass to hang for 3 years. We have Lander for next year and probably the following. After that he would be on the Painter program where it takes elite level recruits 3-4 years to get to the NBA. Ain't happening.

Probably right but Derrick Thornton reclassified to go to Duke.  He was a 5 star player and actually stayed in school 5 years but went to 3 schools.

I’d rather have both. Thornton is more day 1 ready as far as body and skill but Smith could give us valuable minutes even as a freshman. I do not want to be in that situation where we only have one primary ball handler on the roster ever again. It’s been so frustrating watching us when Rob leaves the floor...I don’t ever want to go back to that. I sense there is definitely room for two pgs on this roster and with Lander and Rob both gone by 22...absolutely needed. Could even see Smith red shirt to continue to give him time to mature physically and space out the two.

I would take both but would two PG from the same class both want to come here.

I said this in the Lander thread after reclassifying. Lander will be here this year and more than likely 1 more. Braden will be our 22 PG or earning very strong minutes off the bench. That's how confident I am in this one.....and I don't know a thing. Just whispers from the North Side.

Would you rather have him over the Thornton kid from Georgia.

The other thing to keep in mind is that the most vulnerable have already been impacted.  In Indiana, more than 50 percent of deaths are people over 80.

Also a lot of deaths are in nursing homes.  My aunt is in a nursing home in Greenfield and they have had over 25 deaths due to the virus.  My Aunt was the only one in her wing who did not have the virus so they moved everyone but her to a different location.

  13. I went to our church service today and you had to sign up before hand to let them know you wee going to be there.  They limited how many people could come in and they had the chairs 3 or 4 together with a big distance between each set of chairs.

Another way of looking at it is all the guys who weren't healthy (a good number of the Clippers etc.) have now had months to get healthy. In shape? Nope. But they have time to get there and maybe we'll get to see teams at full strength.

Also, though I'm not particularly an LBJ fan, imagine being him at 35 and after playing extremely well, as he did this year, losing the year and having to wait until he's 36 to try to get that playoff run. Then there's the Clips etc. who've fought all year long to be in the position they're in. It wouldn't be fair to the players to just call it a day on their season.

I am looking at it how it will effect next season. For the teams who makes a deep run in the playoffs they will only have 6 weeks until the next season starts.  Take Lebron he will take more rest days next year if they make a long run.  Also only having a few weeks for the draft and free agency will really be difficult to build your roster.

I mean, you can be negative about every aspect of it or you can be excited for sports to be back and excited for a league that is actually being creative about solutions for their season. Excited to see some of the changes and how they play out. Excited to get to see these guys playing in a setting that is completely new and different. Excited to see what it's like to potentially be able to hear these guys talking to each other on the court. Excited to see who comes back with a vengence and who comes back ala Shawn Kemp from the 1999 lockout.

It might be terrible, it might be awesome, but I don't understand why anyone wouldn't be excited to find out. There's a lot of fun involved in seeing how this plays out.

Never said you shouldn't be excited but to me why ruin a second season when you could just cancelled one season.

I love college basketball and the tournament but couldn't see them coming back 4 months.lster to start the tournament.
