Pritchard IMO has already said what he needed to say earlier this week....from his perspective. Said Victor has looked great. Hasn't seen him in better shape,etc....Pritchard is good at what he does for what he's been given. When things like this happen I would lean more towards the enjoy next year with Victor folks because Pritchard is probably going to move on.

I love Victor to death but that's more IU love than Pacers love. Is he really a franchise guy? Seems to me we need 2-3 of him.

I guess I might not be a good fan because once a player leaves IU for the pros I don't make a big effort to follow them. Once Vic came the Pacers then I followed him but if he doesn't want to be Pacer then move on.

Vic and Mike Trout are two different animals.  Trout is a great player, but has never been a 'leader'.  The Angels never make the post-season.  I've never viewed the Angels as 'Trout's Team'.

Vic, on the other hand, stepped up the minute he got traded to the Pacers and inserted himself into the leadership role.  If it is truly an injury setback, then the front office and coaching staff need to step up and confirm that.  Otherwise, this most certainly could hurt Vic's image as the leader of the franchise, both among fans as well as in the locker room.

Actually for me this year I enjoyed watching the Pacers more without Vic.  I thought the Pacers were a better team before he came back and thought Vic was trying to do to much with the ball.

I was at Bankers Life for the last Pacers game before the shutdown and Vic had a huge game against the Celtics.  If he was healthy enough then to play, then I can't see how that can be used as an excuse to sit out now.  Disappointing.

That said, I think the prospects of the NBA actually playing is probably 50/50 at this point.

Normally I would be pissed off about this but this season is not a normal year.

Victor sitting out the rest of this year. My guess is combination of injury and covid concerns. Initial reaction is darn it....but this whole thing is a cluster. Guess it probably makes sense for him to get completely healthy (if that's the primary reason) and be ready for later this year.

Has to be more than the injury since he had already came back before the pandemic.

I understand and respect your fears and worries, but I do not have those. Doesn't make me wrong or you wrong... I am not the one telling you how you should operate your life though. And thats my issue. You want to wear a mask, wear one, do it. Do it forever. That doesnt have anything to do with me.

Looks like starting on July 9th in will be mandatory to wear a mask in Indiana.  Did not hear the whole story on the news but I thought that was what they were saying.  The thing is that you not wearing a mask does effect other people.

I know exactly what the virus can do. It can kill .05% of people that GET the disease.

My family is irrelevant to what I'm talking about. My family and I can decide the best route to take at gatherings and what not.

That is your right just as it is the right of the IHSAA to mandate you wear a mask on the sidelines.  I guess it will be up to you to decide if you really want to coach this year or not.  If we as a society ever want to get things back up to normal then we might have to do somethings that are a little inconvenient for awhile to accomplish this.  Maybe earlier if more people took this stuff more serious and wore mask the we might not still be in this situation.

Why would I visit them? I don't visit old people. I wouldn't now because of the threat, but jesus... again... wayyyy different than coaching football. Way different.

So you don't have any family that is elderly or you don't visit family at all.  I guess we will just have to agree to disagree on this topic.  Being a person that has had this virus and have their elderly parents living with them I have seen what this virus can do to people.

3 p.m. Mountain Time July 2.  Just saw on tv that Texas is mandating face masks in the state.

I don't like wearing mask because it makes it harder to breath especially wearing glasses.  I will not go inside a store without one though because there are way to many people in the store to not to wear one.

Then those people need to stay home. If you're worried, stay home and I'm not saying that lightly or to poke fun. Do you go outside during a hurricane? Or a tornado? Hail storm? Like where do you get to draw the line on my freedom?

How hard is it not to be a criminal, not lie, not cheat, not do a lot of crap? To me none of that is hard.

I will NOT wear a mask unless the IHSAA tells us we have to to coach.

Well to have a season you will probably have to and again it is just not about you  So are you staying totally away from any elderly family because if you don't wear a mask and go around them you are putting them in jeopardy.

I really dont care, Scott. If you're worried.. stay home. I shouldn't HAVE to wear a mask. 95 degree kickoff on turf... with a mask on, REALLY smart.

The average age of officials is probably 45, sure that'll go over well.

To me that attitude is very selfish because it is just not about you but everyone you come in contact with and then who those people come in contact with.  Do you have parents or grand parents who are getting older who you come in contact with because you could be putting them at risk.  How hard is it to wear a mask and help stop the spread of this virus.

In retrospect, probably not...but we don't know what Bates is going to do...you don't and I don't...

And I really don't understand your point...would you rather he commit and possibly attend a school in another conference?

There's no "lose" in him committing to Sparty...not to MSU or the conference...

Nothing wrong with him commiting but that was not what I was answering.  The response was it was good for the big ten even if he does not come.  If he doesn't come then does that really help the big ten.

I want smith to be a Hoosier. We play them during the season. Dudes a stud, winner, and has that I’ll kick your ass attitude that’s not arrogant. Whomever mentioned Coverdale earlier...bingo. Minus the Budweiser 😂

Sounds like your old style IU player who would be a fan favorite.
