  1. To me even if VO gets back to his old self you are looking at a 3 or 4 seed at best in the East. As long as you are picking somewhere between 16-20 every year the chances of hitting a homerun goes down. Yes the Pacers got lucky with getting Granger and PG and Reggie after the top 10 but it is harder to do. As for Philly they got top 3 picks like 4 or 5 years in a row and got some difference makers where the Pacers will never have that high of picks. I still think they need to trade Turner so we can bring in some more talent because I don't think him and Sobonis will be able to play together on the defensive end. I have never been a big fan of Turners because I don't like my 7'ft center only hanging out at the 3 point line. He is a good shot blocker but I would not call him a good defensive player.
  2. As a Pacers fan it seems like they are just caught in the middle. They are to good to totally tank and get a high draft pick but not good enough to really compete for a championship. To me the Pacers are in the worst place in sports and that is pretty much in the middle of the pack. In football you still have a chance but in the NBA you really have no way of really improving your team enough to win a championship. You won't get an elite pick in the draft so it is hard to build just through the draft. Being in a small market you will never be able to attract the top free agents so you have to hope you hit a jackpot and find a few mid tier free agents to come and play well together.
  3. I agree with you but I just was stating why he probably did not play
  4. I don't think we would want Goga going against Drummond because even our veterans can't stop him.
  5. Goga played in the second game and turned his ankle
  6. I thought they would get off to a really good start because he easy the schedule looked early on. You play Detroit 3 times and Cleveland twice in your first 10 games you think you should get off to a good start. it seemed like in the pre season that they were working pretty well together but they don't look fluid right now.
  7. They started to play better in the second half last night and seemed to be playing better together. it took a lucky turnaround 3 point shot by Kennard to keep the Pistons in the game last night. The Pacers were up 94-90 with 1:30 left in the game when the shot clock was running out when Kennard made that shot. I still don't think in th elong run that the Pacers can keep Turner and Sabonis playing big minutes together.
  8. Pacers are embarrassing themselves at Cleveland tonight down 22 with 9 minutes left in the 3rd. I said from the start that Turner and Sabonis can't play on the floor together because it will hurt the defense which it is already doing. I have never been a fan of Turner because he is so soft and plays way to passive. When he plays against big's who plays with heart and plays hard he just does nothing. Drummond totally killed us on offensive rebounds and hustle plays and tonight Thompson with the Cavs is doing the same.
  9. I think McDermott was 2 for 3 from 3 but just don't get enough shots
  10. I was disappointed in the Pacers last night but like many have said it is just 1 of 82 games and they are putting a lot of new players together. What I am worried about is their lack of depth especially up front because I don't see leaf getting better and they did not play Goga at all.
  11. Saw a list of schools with the most players on a opening day roster and IU is 10th with 8 players.
  12. There are some football players who do sit out a bowl game so they can get ready for the draft.
  13. Both of those were top 10 picks who showed great potential. I am just saying the Pacers have better players in the spots they would take so why would I want them over what we already have.
  14. That is very good for both and I am happy we were able to sign Sabonis instead of trading him.
  15. As a pacers fan I want who will make the team the best and don't care where the players come from. Just because they went to IU does nothing for me when it comes to the Pacers roster and I just don't think either one would make the Pacers better than they already are. thank goodness Donnie Walsh did not listen to IU fans who wanted Alford to be picked instead of Reggie.
  16. The Pacers are 3 deep at the point with Brogdon, Holiday and McConnell who played really well in the pre season.
  17. I wouldn't because I want the guy who can shoot from deep and move with out the ball.
  18. Looking at the Pacers roster I don't see a need for Troy. These will be the guys playing the 2 or 3 once VO gets back that I can think of off the top of my head. VO Lamb Warren J. Holiday McDermott
  19. I think he is asking for more money than Turner makes and the Pacers probably are not willing to give him that much.
  20. t looks like the Pacers are having trouble get an extension sign with Sabonis and have engaged in trade talks for him. I would hate to see him go and they would have to get a lot for him fo rme to be happy with a trade. They would need to get a young PF who is athletic and can rebound.
  21. Sorry bout that but I loved the Lakers show time
  22. Growing up I hated the Celtics especially McHale and Ainge because they seemed like such whiners. Even though I thought McHale had some of the best post moves ever, I just could not stand him.
  23. I was a Lakers fan as well and hated Bird when he played for the Celtics. I was a Magic fan and was actually rooting for MSU and ISU in the finals. He was the only player in my lifetime that I rooted for an individual and became a fan of that team.
  24. Pacers won their first pre season game in OT 132-131 Warren 30pts, 5 rebs Sabonis 21pts, 12 rebs. Turner 11pts, 13 rebs. Brogdon 15 pts, 6 rebs, 14 ast Lamb 20 pts
