Dude was tough as nails...heart of a lion. He hated losing.

Oops...sorry...he is NOT in the portal.
He did… that entire team loved them some barley pop, with Jeffries and Leach being about the only exceptions. I can remember many parties with many of the guys from the team back then. TC could do keg stands with the best of them. AJ would get, well it wasn’t pretty back in those days. I’ll never forget going to the Waffle House off of College Ave after a football game and having to get AJ outta the bathroom, because he was passed out leaning against a urinal and stall, barely holding himself up… those were the days!

The last time that Indiana had a red headed shooter, everything turned out to be pretty Goode.

What do they have coming back or in, aside from the kid that grew up there?

The roster makeup can be a combination of many things. That being said, last year’s offseason was a big swing and miss with how it was constructed. Woody landed some really nice pieces, but forgot perhaps the most important ingredient by not bringing in another guard. I expect that this offseason will look different. Just my opinion, but I believe that Hickman is an important piece to land.

Recent rumors he may come back actually. NIL check would be enormous.
That wouldn’t bode well for his NBA dreams in my opinion. He’ll never have a higher ceiling and this draft is amongst the weakest of recent memory.

I wouldn’t be to stressed about him, I think he will just follow Cal to Arkansas
I agree, but you never know.

UConn has the definitive advantage at guard and wing. I believe Edey can insert himself over Clingan, especially if he can get Clingan in foul trouble early. I’d look for UConn to do something that Purdue hasn’t seen and turn the tempo all the way up.

Coworker(PU fan) walks into the office this morning, looking as if he’d seen a ghost. I asked him what was wrong and why the nervous energy? His response was that he dreamt that Purdue got beat by a double digit seed for the fourth consecutive year in a row. I told him that at least they made it to the Final Four this time… he got sick and left early. Part of me wants to see the B1G succeed, but selfishly, if he’s right and they do fall to NC State.. oh man, what a story!

23 points and 5 assists in McD game. Named co-MVP with Dylan Harper
Sweet, we’re going to get to face both of them at least twice next season!

Not trying to joke but I think his biggest issue is the heart attack he had last year.
That certainly could be the case. That being said, his play from what I saw, seemed like he was fine. I honestly have no information one way or the other, but looked to be in good cardiovascular condition when I watched him. Logged a full workload without any issues that I saw anyway.

Bronny James in the Portal
I watched him play a few times this year. He wasn’t terrible. I think his biggest issue will always be the shadow of his dad. People really have unreal expectations of him… what the hell, he would fit right in. 🤦🏻♂️

As a low risk-high reward prospect… I was sold on that volleyball spike/block that bounced 13 feet after smashing the floor. Kidding aside, you never know until you know. What I know is that you always recruit athletes with major upside. Sometimes you end up with an OG Anunnoby or Victor Oladipo, and worst case… a guy that doesn’t crack the rotation and transfers after two years. Either way, sign me up for the potential and sell me on the work.

Ware seemed to be a very likable Hoosier and I’m glad he came here, even if just for one season. He will be missed. Not very often we get true rim protection and he provides that in heaps. Wish him nothing but the best!

Not upset by this… Dusty still has a lot to prove. I hate how we always latch on to guys because they had a big run through the tournament, and especially if they have any ties to Indiana. Dusty could very well go on to have an amazing career at Michigan, but I’m not sure about it. We fell for that with Archie and he was out of his league as soon as he stepped foot in Bloomington. I’m not saying we don’t go young again, but I feel like the next move will be for a seasoned veteran.

This is good news. I know that he had some issues, but nobody was consistently great all season. As great as Ware can be, he disappointed at times too.

I can’t speak for Sparks, but it seemed like CJ and Caleb regressed from their freshman seasons. I think under the right coach and circumstances, they could potentially flourish. It appears that Woodson’s version of IUBB isn’t focused on developing the roster… just the top of the roster.

This is from another boards insider. Take it however you want-I’m not saying it’s true or accurate.

First thing's first, congrats to the IU women on the 4-seed and hosting opportunity. Tough draw, but they call it madness for a reason. Secondly, love you guys and this community, but goodness you're not shy about using the private message feature. Sorry for ghosting many of you but easier to just post publicly.
And, now that I've effectively buried the lead, Woodson is back next year with a couple caveats and interesting details:
- Meeting Tuesday happened as scheduled and talk was future of the basketball program and specifically how Woody fits in that plan
- Though Dolson and BoT disagree about it happening now, consensus was that this isn't the bridge hire they'd hoped for and this is his last year barring some miracle B1G championship or FF run next year that would make for bad optics.
- Woodson was given the opportunity to retire and go out amicably but said no and that he thinks he can use the portal to put us in a better position to transition to another coach after next year.
- Dolson laid out expectations for portal results and win/loss results next season that would result in letting Woody go; just my opinion but it sounds like Buckner, boosters, etc. got him the 4th year but Scotty Dolson has his finger on the eject button and Woodson knows it. Fully expect him to announce a "planned retirement" next year so he can go out on his "own terms"
- For what it's worth, Dolson did put out feelers and got positive feedback on interest from 2 of his top 3 potential replacement candidates; think we can get May with a text message, Pearl has serious interest but wouldn't make a move if his team makes a FF run or wins a natty.
- I think we as a fanbase/board are higher on Dusty than the administration/BoT; sounds like they're only interested in a homerun hire, win now guy if they do move and risking a third straight miss isn't something they're willing to do and just because he has IU ties and made a good tourney run, feeling is May isn't a guarantee at this level.
That's what I've got that I'm able to share comfortably right now. Not what myself or anybody on this board probably wants to hear. Moral is one more year is 95% likely (everyone root for UCONN in the S16, and a miracle!) It's kind of messy internally and they're trying to move on to get IU back to a top tier program while letting Woodson ride into the sunset having left the program in a good place and "stepping aside" for the good of the program. ??
”
I agree about Dusty May. He might very well be one of our own, but that hire would scream Archie to me. Indiana needs someone who has credentials nationally, and who can both recruit high school stars and portal prospects alike. A couple of decent tournament runs at a place that doesn’t demand much won’t cut it… or at least I hope that ship has sailed.
-
Today marks the 12th time in 20 years that Indiana has missed out on the tournament. This isn’t particularly a Woodson knock, but a knock at how bad our coaching and administration have been in general. Give me a guy that will breathe fire into the program and give us consistency from a competitive standpoint.

Purdue feels like a lock for the Elite Eight. Auburn will make a run. Houston and UNC fall early. I feel like Indiana State should’ve made it over MSU, but in retrospect, I think MSU is going to give UNC fits in the round of 32.

This. According to what I was told, he could’ve played late in the season, but ultimately decided the redshirt was the right plan of action.
