They didn't hire his coach. Other schools could have a chance but UC could very well land him because of their hire of Drew Adams. That said IU feels like they have a chance and they want to take a shot at it.
Is Drew Adams not the coach? It looks like I got some things mixed up.

That's a pretty odd take. I would argue UC and the city of Cincinnati has 10x more to offer to a college kid than Bloomington Indiana. Cincys population is north of 300,000, Bloomington is around 85k. And IU may not think about UC much, but I assure you, we don't think about IU at all-neither program has won anything in what seems like forever-but hey, keep trying in football!
Except for when you need a new assistant coach or a transfer point guard. Or a place to recruit. But other than that, never.

Would UC be involved at all if they hadn’t hired his coach?

These WR need to make plays. Too many drops.
They are brutal. -

Did you hear what happened?
Were there injuries throughout the week?

Looks like Camper and Matthews are out per Twitter.
Time for Simmons, Barner, Cooper, Holt-Bennet, Coby, and McCulley to step up.- 1

I think Henderson should be lead back. Seems to have better vision than shivers
I’m probably not football smart enough to see the small details, but I agree.
I thought Jaylin Lucas looked good in the touches he’s had. The most frustrating thing to me with the offense is how they seem to have some really good pieces they don’t utilize.

I think all 5 of those games are winnable as well, it's long season. There is a lot left to play for.

I’m on board with this. When the team plays well they look good.
Eliminating the dumb penalties and bad stretches is the key.
This is the mindset that makes games like this hurt.

I really wish the team would show up for 4 quarters. Bombing the first half before outplaying the other team the 2nd half doesn’t really work.

Sweating 17.5
Not happy about 16.5.
The offense could have tried to string together some quick hits but they decided to hold the ball looking for long shots.

I’m watching UVA vs Cuse and a player got called for targeting on the QB. Anyone see this and can explain it compared to the one that was picked up on where WKU hit Bazelak as he slid?
They don’t really show replays in the stadium and I’m really curious what the difference is.

Some news from the West. Illinois has rolled everyone they’ve played except 1 team. Was that win better than we initially thought?

probably not against Idaho.

IU plays OSU, UM, and PSU every year. The QB and RB played in the SEC. I’m sure the the WKU linebackers are going to intimidate everyone.

I stayed up and watched the entire game. I came away with two observations that sort of stood out to me.
- I was impressed with Purdue's passing game and receivers vs. a Penn St. defense.
- I was unimpressed with Penn St.'s overall play.
Purdue looked to be the better team the majority of the game and controlled the clock until it was most important.
Penn St. looked sluggish, uncomfortable and played catch up the entire game.
I agree. I’d add that Purdue’s tackling was pretty bad.
I though Clifford came out pretty rusty then got a little more comfortable in the second quarter. After the injury he was pretty bad until the last drive.

Worth noting that FanDuel has a passing line available for Bazelak.
They don’t have anything out there for IU rushing.

Today is the first day of football in too long.
I see 3 games of interest. My pick is bolded.
Northwestern-Nebraska
Frost’s seat is hot and will only get hotter with each loss.
Illinois-Wyoming
Week 1 opponent.
Western Kentucky-Austin Peay
Week 3 opponent.

Any updates on James? I’m curious to see where he ends up. You’d think he would have picked a school with the season starting up soon.
-
I’ve decided we’re doing grilled chicken parm sliders and mojo pork sliders.
It looks like now Illinois is only -10.5 against Wyoming and +3.5 against IU next week. It will be interesting to see if that moves.
If IU runs any no huddle offense will we be accused of cheating?

My brother came down a few weeks ago and parked in a garage at Fee and 10th. It wasn’t too bad of a walk and I don’t think it was too expensive.
