  1. Good to hear about some of the special teams play.
  2. I feel like this chart is misleading. The bottom one looks way more impressive.
  3. Getting into college with a GED isn't too much of an issue. Almost all colleges allow students with a GED to get in. I'm sure the OSU admissions department will look over his application with a fine tooth comb. Testing out of classes depends on the school. Mine doesn't, but some do. A little donation by OSU to his high school, and I'm sure they will offer them too!
  4. Also, we'd really only need Penix to run maybe 20 times during the season. No need to in the easy games, and about 2 times in the important games. He'd be able to slide or go out of bounds on a lot of those, so there wouldn't need to be that many hits taken.
  5. 100% agree. I remember we used to do a read with Lagow at QB, and it didn't fool Stevie Wonder (and that's only partially because he can actually see!). Everybody knew he wasn't keeping it. We can't let Penix get to that point. He has to keep it every once in a while to keep the defense somewhat honest.
  6. That's one reason I like our chances against Iowa. Petros doesn't scare me at all.
  7. Penix is by far the leader of that group going into the season. This has to be one of the worst QB classes in the B1G in a while. Penix would be on top a lot of years, but there's a huge gap between 1 and 2. Some guys on the list with potential, but Mertz is #2, and he was brutal the last 5 games last season. Averaged 172 yards and had 2 TDs and 5 interceptions. I know Wisconsin's game isn't to air the ball out, but Mertz at 2 shows how far the B1G group of QBs has to go.
  8. It is cool they do that. I think last year there was one from Mark Wahlberg.
  9. Man, you Colts fans are spoiled after having Manning and Luck back to back haha. I'm sure you could have Trubisky for cheap. Maybe Jay Cutler wants to come out of retirement. The Bears would probably trade you the Red Rocket for a 7th round pick.
  10. Haha. It was just meant to get a shot in at Russia cheating, but you're not wrong! In fairness though, the list of Purdue excuses is pretty long, so it is tough not to use one of them!
  11. I'm still counting it as gold for women's gymnastics. Russia never should have been invited back after 2014.
  12. Just from reading the tea leaves from here and other places, it looks like Curry really likes IU and would love to go here, but he is balancing that with the allure of being a defensive linemen for one of the best schools in the country for defensive linemen. I really hope we can start getting some high draft picks. I think that would go a long ways towards making decisions like this better for us. Much tougher to envision that at IU since it's been almost 30 years since we've had a 1st round pick.
  13. I haven't seen anywhere that he's decommited. Just wishful thinking and trying to guess that he might not be eligible at ASU. I'm thinking it depends on his timeline. I think we might have been the only other school he was really interested in the last month. If he plans on flipping anywhere soon, it would be really surprising if it wasn't us. If he decommits and waits a while, who knows.
  14. And he's 3/3 from 50+ yards. Not only that, I bet 10 of those makes were dead center. He's unbelievably good. I don't get why more NFL teams don't draft kickers. A stud kicker in the 6th round is way better than taking a gamble on some random position (just ask the Bears how important a kicker is!). I would guess if Vinatieri proves himself more, that PWO might turn into a full offer. Love our emphasis on special teams.
  15. You're at least halfway there. Not sure how fast you are though lol.
  16. I would still like to see some more dynamic kickoff returns, but everything else is so much better the last couple years.
  17. The kick Campbell made 2 years ago against PU showed why you need to recruit great kickers. That dude is money, and will be the best kicker in IU history when he's done (sorry old timers who think Stoyanovich was better). I wonder if Vinatieri is looking to be a kicker or punter in college.
  18. I don't know if you get how it works. You don't have to stab yourself.
  19. Going back a few years, the #20 spot is usually around 230-245 points. We'd still have a few spots left if we get all 3 of them, so I'd think we could get to 250 if we get close to 20 commits. Even if we don't get Curry and Ramsey, I think we'll still have a decent shot to be a top 20 class.
  20. I watched his highlights from his game against Elder last year, and he looked really good. A good combination of speed and power. I think he's going to be really, really good.
  21. Around the time of his only healthy game last fall, he was ranked around 160th overall.
