Ugly game so far. Both defenses have looked really good, but also some sloppy play by the offenses.

Mertz will be the most interesting thing for me to watch this game. I've heard so many people just dismissing his troubles last year because he got Covid. I'm not buying it. I think he'll still have times when he struggles this year.

That's combined over the first 2 games. Game 1 was right around 400 yards, so in game 2 he threw for around 350.

I'm really thinking we found somebody special in Hoover. I saw another angle of his pass down the sideline. Threw it close to 55 yards like it was nothing, and hit him right in stride. Putting up huge numbers against terrific competition.

Couldn't find full stats, but I saw on Twitter that he threw for 4 more touchdowns. His team was up by 18 in the 4th quarter against one of the top teams in the country. Not sure how they lost it.

I wonder if it is televised anywhere (tv or online). That's a pretty big national matchup.

There's part of me that thinks we have the deepest and most talented team of my life and we'll win, and there's another part of me that is worried we'll come out flat and lose. I think we're the more talented team in this matchup, I just hope that translates to the field. So much nervous excitement!

I saw on Twitter this is the first home sellout that didn't involve OSU or UM since PU in 2007 (the Austin Starr game winner).

I think that was a new rule this year. OSU gets no false start penalties, and only one pass interference per game. Any more have to be approved by the B1G office before being called.* *rules are subject to change if another team has a chance of reaching the CFP.

Things could go south quickly here for Minnesota. Morgan is lucky he hasn't thrown a few picks already, and he'll need to throw a lot more to get back in this.

I do think Fleck is at least a decent (but overrated) coach. The other two are just completely in over their heads.

I can't bring myself to root for Minnesota. Fleck is just such a tool. Not really rooting for OSU either, just rooting against Minnesota.

I think I could write a book about all the ways schools are failing kids. There was a thread from a few years ago. Maybe time to revive it.

My grandma is taking me and my parents out to eat this weekend at a nice steakhouse. I told them we had to do it Friday because the game will still be going on Saturday. Wouldn't miss watching this game for anything.
