  1. Whichever one works better for me! Yeah, I was going nicknames. With the Bears so early in the alphabet, I need to make sure I don't do that again lol.
  2. I think everything will depend on Penix. If he doesnt improve a ton, it is going to be a major uphill battle. Coming back from an injury, sometimes the light bulb just clicks and mentally you're back. We really need that. Other than him, not sure how we matchup.
  3. I'm calling it now. At some point in his career, McPherson for the Bengals will make a 65+ yard field goal. Just made a 53 yarder that hit about halfway up the net. Dude has a monster leg. Really don't know why more teams don't spend a late round pick on a stud kicker instead of a guy who has a 5% chance of ever working out.
  4. Attendance last night was 5,000 more than what we averaged all of 2019.
  5. I'll take all of the names that come first alphabetically. Just getting in picks to get on the board. Next week I'll actually give it some thought.
  6. I'm intrigued by Callaway. NO lost some guys which helps, but he made some great plays in preseason. Will be interesting to watch. I'm starting him in my dynasty league today.
  7. Good to get in the win column. Lots of positives from the game. My only issue is that I wish we would have had Penix chucking it around. Some of that was because of the game with short fields and being up big, but I don't think this game helps him a ton. Maybe a little confidence boost and a little more rust knocked off, but 11-16 for only 68 yards isn't much after how bad he looked last week. Would have liked to see more passing and less running in the 1st half. Overall though, we looked pretty solid when the game mattered. Lots of good things to take away from this one.
  8. Ewe are thinking two much about there meaning. As long as yew no how their used in a sentence, your dewing grate.
  9. I'm still in wait and see mode on Sheridan. He's clearly not in DeBoer's league yet (I don't think many are). There were so many disasters happening in the Iowa game, that it's hard to pin point what exactly went wrong (besides everything). I do think his play calling is kind of bland and doesn't do a lot to help the OL. Hiller on the other hand needs to go if there aren't major improvements during the season. He's been here 5 years, and we don't have any good run or pass blocking lineman last year or this year. We returned almost all of our line, have quite a bit of experience, and it was just as bad or worse than last year. Needs to be a major improvement this year.
  10. Never said I didn't understand anybody's point of view. Just stating that you saying vaccinated people were worried might not be the truth for most people.
  11. So you'll be the one running out on the field wearing nothing but an empty case of Busch Light for a helmet?
  12. Most people who are vaccinated aren't worried. The issue is more to do with hospitals and mandates. If everyone were to be vaccinated, there would be little chance of overrunning hospitals, and mask and other mandates wouldn't be necessary nearly as much.
  13. I know a few of those people. I just meant that I hope it doesn't get extra traction among new people. Don't need any more of that going around.
  14. I really worry that this craziness around the Covid vaccine has created a whole new group of parents who don't vaccinate their kids from the things you mentioned.
  15. I did think there was a little more variety with our run game. I saw a stat that last year about 33% of our plays were runs between the tackles. Not sure what most teams are, but that seems like a lot. We did a little more to try to get Carr to the outside. Agreed on Penix. Hopefully it was just first game jitters of coming back, but you could see he had no interest in running. Not just running, but getting out of the pocket in general. Hopefully he just needs time to get comfortable taking hits again and it isn't a conscious effort to avoid running.
  16. Can we use that as a loophole to say we should be disqualified and the score doesn't count?
  17. My issue with the play calling is that it seems like a lot of calls that are great if your team is bigger, stronger, and faster. We don't things differently than what a lot of teams do, but that's my issue. There's just little to no creativity, and our plays are too predictable. You can get away with that if you win 1 on 1 battles, but our OL isn't going to win any of those. Our WR can win some when they have the time to get open, but too often we don't have the time. We need more creativity like we had under DeBoer. He knew we didn't have the horses on the line, but he was great at drawing up quick hitters mixed in with deep plays. He was unpredictable, and kept defenses way more off balance than what we've seen the last 2 years. I don't have the football pedigree to know specifics of what exactly should be called, but I really don't think it's that big of a limb to go out on to say that we're predictable and not creative. Our players today obviously didn't help with that at all, and there were a few times Penix had guys open and missed the read. Just throwing my thoughts out there on why I feel like play calling could be better.
  18. Greg Frey. Not sure if he was responsible or Wilson was responsible, but those lines were awesome. I would love for Penix to be able to throw behind those lines.
  19. It was good to see Evans calm down. He was crapping himself on his first few punts. His last few were really good. You could see the power he has.
  20. PU had a chip shot field goal, got a delay of game, then Brohm got an unsportsmanlike penalty for coming on the field. Went from a 33 go a 53 yard attempt. Really hoping he misses it lol. PU did get hosed on that no pass interference call though. He was mugged.
  21. Another silver lining is that we seemed to make it through the game relatively healthy. Minnesota lost Ibrahim, and Bell for Michigan was carted off, so there have already been some pretty important guys go down this week. I'm sure Purdue will have some 2nd string guy get hurt that will derail their season too. Glad we stayed healthy.
  22. The only silver lining I can come up with is that this was a game that was reasonable to lose. How we lost is obviously a major kick in the junk, but it wasn't like we were upset. The 1 loss doesn't really change much as far as the season goes. A lot of people thought this might be a loss anyways. Obviously how we lost was really bad, but this would have hurt a lot worse for our season if we lost to a team we were favored to beat by 10.
