Not surprised. Our starting lineup with Cupps is also a really efficient lineup.

I think what that graphic really shows is how important Ware is. Surround Ware with smart, steady guys that play hard and you're going to be in games typically.

Even last night, once he went out OSU took control of the game. When he came back in the 2nd half IU got back in it.

Has Leal given any indication on whether he intends to play his additional season next year? It seems like he has a great mind for business and already has his career started. I'd love to have another year with him in whatever role the team needs.

Not sure. I don't think we've heard anything definitive on either Leal or Galloway.

I'd love to have them both back, though there would definitely need to be other backcourt/wing changes around them.

Team needs to find a way to get to 20 wins in the regular season, then probably win a couple in the BTT to have a good shot. If they do that, the numbers should work themselves into a bubble case.

And probably need at least one of those wins to be at Purdue or vs Wisconsin. We're going to need a signature win to be taken seriously.

Trey finally shows the kind of senior leadership we need... Both on the road and at home...

And I think having Anthony, who's building up even more cred with his younger teammates by not only talking the talk, but walking the walk, out there makes Galloway a better player... The chemistry is definitely there...

I know this game will be downplayed, and no one is stamping it as a signature win, but any road victory in this league is valuable, especially coming from 18 back... Even the most virulent critic has to acknowledge that these kids fought and didn't give up...

Yeah, you could almost see Galloway realizing in real time during that 2nd half that he needed to be the one to lead this group.

Really good to see him step up and have a good game on the road.

Hopefully his leadership becomes a constant.

  5. I think an interesting note with Leal playing more is that in the Iowa game Leal and Galloway combined for 14 rebounds and last night they combined for 12.

In both games we outrebounded our opponents. It takes so much pressure off both the defense and offense when you hold teams to just 1 shot.

Something to keep watching as Leal most likely continues to play more.

Damn this makes me happy. You can tell how much it means to him. He has been awesome with the extended opportunities. Just solid. Knows his role.

Yup, and some of what IU has been missing. We need some guys in the rotation that get what Indiana is supposed to be about.

I think his rebounding has been a big impact too. The defense looks better when you're not giving up 2nd chance opportunities.

I'll admit I was wrong on Leal. I had said in the offseason that I couldn't see him ever really being in the rotation.

Galloway is extremely limited but he works harder than anyone on the court. He willed this team tonight

I wouldn't call him "extremely limited". He's a really good player. He's not the best shooter, but he's solid to really good at most other aspecs of the game.
