I expected TJD and RT to be improved shooters. Both are worse shooters than last year. I expected XJ to be a better decision maker when he was anointed the starting PG from the get-go. I could prob go on. It doesn’t matter what I thought at the beginning of the year. What matters is that we’ve shown signs of being really good (1st half @ Wiscy, OSU) but we’re not replicating those times consistently. We SHOULD absolutely be better than we have the past two games bc we’ve seen it already. Turnovers and FT are areas that can be improved regardless of talent and those two things have cost us dearly. You don’t agree FTs and turnovers are fixable regardless of talent level? Or do you just think the times we’ve limited our turnovers and made our FTs were us playing above our abilities?

Yeah, I’m very competitive and always looking for perfection. I’m certainly guilty of not being able to enjoy positives as much as I should bc I’m noticing the negatives more. Like I said earlier, I just need to be complacent with our guard play and try to enjoy the positives, knowing we are limited.

Sure did. Doesn’t mean he had a good game bc of those two positives. Also had 5 turnovers, and that alone doesn’t mean he had a poor game to be fair. It’s fine if you think he’s a good PG. I don’t, and don’t think we have a chance to go far bc of it.

Just stop man. I feel sorry for anybody that can’t handle reality, or a different opinion. A win is a win, and I’ll take it, but it doesn’t change the fact we’re an average basketball team and have looked like it the last two games. Just worry about yourself. If I choose to be frustrated by, what is my perceived lack of improvement from this team, then that’s my choice.

Didn’t think we played well at all, but a win is a win. I’ll take it. Hope we find a way to get better bc we’ve been consistently average lately.

Doesn’t matter how the other PG is playing. Play your game and be smart. The refs sucked, oh well.

Life isn’t fair. I think I said that in my initial response. Part of being mentally tough, having basketball IQ.

He’s the PG. He’s got to be smart enough to keep his cool and understand the nature of playing on the road, whether it’s fair or not.

XJ just can’t handle playing under control and not putting his hands on players while playing D.

Defense is poor. Fouling too much and not guarding the perimeter.

GA’s football team celebrated their title today, so I’m guessing nobody in GA knows the basketball team stinks YET.

Along with Nebraska, we are the only two teams in the conference without an overall road win. 👌

No offense, but I think you’re nuts to think we can win at MD, NW, or Minny. Nebraska might be the last shot IMO, and that’s a stretch.

I think you’re right, but is XJ a PG? I know he’s supposed to be, but he was horrible last night. He has NO understanding of when to speed up and slow down. He was a big part of that momentum change to start the second half. Very disappointed in his growth (making the same mistakes over and over) and his basketball IQ. We can not win without a decent PG. Can JHS come early? Unrelated, random comment. We frickin lost the second half by 16 points. Complete lack of mental toughness and intelligence to have that type of half against a team we are better than. Please nobody say we aren’t better than Iowa (just like we aren’t better than Syracuse and PSU). I’ll give you Wiscy at this point given what they’ve done, even though we crapped that game away too.

I don’t know why I’m mad when this outcome is a given / what I expect. I don’t expect us to win at Nebraska either. Just too mentally weak all around. I’ll say the same thing I said in the game thread, CMW should run these guys tomorrow until every single one of them pukes. And then dare them to shoot 50% from the FT line and turn it over 23 times again.

These guys should run their d&cks off tomorrow. Absolutely ZERO excuse for going 12-19 from the FT line with 22 turnovers. I’d try to make guys quit tomorrow.

Just don’t say this is a bad loss. Not allowed to say that for a road game. Not sure why I’m mad. I knew what was going to happen.
