yeah! maybe we can still look forward to Cupps, Gunn, Mtaco, Banks, and Reneau lineup?
Stop! Lol…Gunn and Banks.

On the flip side, if he's making inroads towards bringing back guys that had fallen out of the rotation, that does not really help much.
0 chance. This would be coaching malpractice. Gunn, Banks are assuredly gone and that’s whether they transfer on their own or are nudged out. I suppose Sparks can stay if he’s OK with being 12th man and never seeing the floor.

The key to securing players that were wavering is which ones. #1 needs to be Mgbako. He was showing flashes of what he could be at the end of the season. I preface that with saying that assumes Ware is NBA bound. Otherwise, Ware would be THE guy to bring back.

Yup. Assuming Ware goes pro, MgBako has to be the #1 guy to bring back.

Houston lighting Kansas up...
They have a HOF coach and a lot of talent. Definitely could see them hanging a banner. Gotta give Sampson tremendous credit for turning that program around. Houston of all programs…smh. What could’ve been.

The question is, what's happened in recruiting? If the money is there, and you've sent two guys to the NBA last season why are you struggling? What's IU lacking in the process?
For one thing, it would help remembering names of recruits on visits. How this even happens is beyond comprehension.

Are we surprised Sleepy Mike doesn’t know a recruits name? I’m not. What a disaster.

so an avg. of 20-11 is now pretty good. That record will get you in the NIT every year or a 15 seed in a down year. not sure how Woodson is going to sleep at night next year without XJ.
18 wins is the standard at IU.

I mean, is anyone shocked that this is where we are at w/ Woodson? I’m not…I was dearly hoping this wouldn’t come to this despite the multiple red flags the first couple of years. You could see this coming a mile away. He inherited an older group…once they left, poof! We’re a shell of what we should be.

Sadly the administration might be even more incompetent than Woody. We'll find out over the next 10 days or so.
If you’re hoping the administration reverses course on retaining Woodson…don’t. We’re stuck with Sleepy Mike for at least another 12 months.

It’s ultimately conjecture unless we hear exactly why later, but it’s been said that Woodson didn’t prioritize McNeeley after he signed.
- He’s your only recruit! There is nobody else to split time with.- Make your recruits believe they will be utilized! They are players who want to play. Why prematurely jeopardize that??
- Liam listened to Self (or whoever gets him) simply because he’s not getting the adequate attention from CMW.
- And if that inattentiveness was months-long, shame on CMW.
To your last point. Nothing about Sleepy Woodson screams attentiveness.

Oh yeah, agree on the point the decision wasn't made in the last 24 hours. Completely agree.
I think it was more Sleepy Mike fumbling the bag though, as opposed to anything $ Bill did. Self just took advantage of another coach completely dropping the ball.
Some reports are Mcneeley’s camp was waiting for the Woodson announcement because if he was fired it would’ve been an easier excuse to decommit…but since Woodson was retained, why wait any longer? Which is why he made the announcement.
This has everything to do with our style of play. In what world does a kid with his talent/skillset want to play for this system? You would think something like this would wake sleepy Woodson up, but it won’t. He will keep doing the same thing- 1

Just a few days ago, the Hysterics said out loud they needed to actively harm the program to make it good again. No fucking way they get to throw stones at the fans now.
Ward (the other half) sounds like he is over the Sleepy Woodson experiment.

Wish I could find the tweet, someone shared it in a postgame thread a couple of weeks ago, but when I hear this news I think back to that Woodson quote last year when he said, "it's not my job to get Miller Kopp shots."
As a shooter seeing a team struggle to shoot last season and hear the coach say that about the one good shooter, I would be terrified to play there.
Thoughts on why he announced 24 hours after the university announced that Woodson was their guy?
-
Its not the fans…it’s becoming clearer that that’s the way the family spun it. According to Rabjohns there were whispers coming out of his camp months ago.

Hoosier Hysterics saying it was the fan base that made Mcneeley flip. Too toxic of an environment. They’re sharing on their Space
