apparently you can’t have a conversation without personal attacks.

You are minimalizing the whole situation. It wasn’t 1 phone call. It was 100’s. On top of failed academics. With drug dealers and actual pimps (rumored).

If someone ever cheats you, I hope it’s only a little bit 100’s of times. Maybe just HJ’s. Cuz that’s not as bad. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No personal attacks. Sorry if you felt that way…not my intention.

There’s a lot about those Sampson years that people think they know, especially us fans, of how it played out. As Sampson continues to win and we see former IUBB players like Stemler, Gordon and White cheer him on - I hope it causes some pause the way us fans think happened, because it isn’t so necessarily black and white….and I think that has begun.

Will Wade, Sean Miller and  2011-2015 Rick Pitino and Louisville says hi including the 2013 championship that was vacated

Self reported phone calls reported by self-righteous individuals don’t compare to actual criminal behavior investigated by the FBI which is what these schools and coaches were doing.

didn't he get smacked with a 5 year show clause from the NCAA? I dont see how IU could have retained him.

We self reported. You don’t self report, there is no show clause. In light of all that’s happened with other big time schools sticking by their coaches and their cheating scandals…this was a “nothing burger.” The trajectory of the program changed forever 14 years ago. No question, we would’ve won a title or two. Whether you like it or not, Kelvin Sampson is a HOF coach.

I get it. We have an uphill battle to make the tournament. Nobody is happy with where we’re sitting.

Just hope our guys are motivated and ready to make something happen, because there’s no other option.

I don’t care where the game is at. We’ve beat them once, we can do it again.

A win tomorrow completely flips the direction of where our season is headed. Get it done.. and POTFB.

While this is true…nothing in our recent history suggests we will win this game. Though the optimist will think, “law of averages says we have to win one of these games at some point, this has to be the game.”

    Hope springs eternal.

Kopp playing 34 minutes in a must win game, tells me pretty much everything I need to know about Woody.

Geronimo had 6 and 2 in 9 minutes...

I defended Archie until the end, even though I could see the issue's.  I won't do the same thing again... not that my opinion means anything!

For better or for worse…let’s hope for the the better. Woodson isn’t going anywhere. Woodson will leave when he wants to leave.

  6. All you need to know about our administration is we self-reported minor violations and it was treated  like the ultimate sin, while we’ve seen other programs, very successful ones at that, do far worse since. Complete over reaction. It has set back our program years. The trajectory of our program forever changed. We could’ve easily had a couple Final Fours or a 6th banner. We chose not to go that route and now we continue to see a program like Houston make Final Fours while we are begging just to make the tournament because we haven’t been invited for the better part of a decade.

It's not going to be easy for MW - telling guys like Leal, Lander, etc. that they need to move on, but it's either that or continue to flounder with a talent disadvantage.

Don’t think Leal leaves. He’s a Bloomingnton native. Kid could stay as a preferred walk-on i suppose. Agree about Lander, he needs to go. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out with him and I think if he could do it all again, he wouldn’t re-classify.

We need a major upgrade at the wings. Stewart and Kopp have both been a disappointment this year…and while I love TJD, and really hope he stays, he shouldn’t be the focal point in our offense next year— bball is now dominated by perimeter play. I Expect major minutes from JHS next year. We also need high major transfers this summer…we need a talent upgrade, and one quickly.

Need to figure out what is wrong with the program. Since RMK left we are on our 6th coach, 4 AD's, 4 presidents so it is hard to keep blaming our failures on these positions.

There’s a disconnect between the university and fan base. Sadly, IU basketball will never be what it once was, or even close to it…I don’t think the University will allow it

  9. This is not a knock on our current coaching staff but more of an observation of what we've seen for the better part of 20 years with this program, in fact this has been brought up a few times by the media and it's a great question. Why is it so hard for IUBB to jumpstart? We see Mick Cronin in 1 year take UCLA to the Final Four, we see Tommy Lloyd take Arizona back to the top 10 in his first year after 3 very mediocre years, Sampson win 20 games after 1 year at Houston after decades of being a terrible program, Pitino take Iona to the Big Dance in year 1 and the list goes on.

    What's the answer?
