Pearl won't.
Some at IU may tell Pearl no thanks.
Pearl wants IU. The question is, does IU (BOTs) want Pearl.
we'll find out how much they care about winning

I will be happy when this is no longer the most popular thread on the site, regardless of the actual outcome of whatever decision is made.
i can't wait either because it will mean he was fired. ain't no way the result is us keeping him, next year making us all happy and this thread going away. i'm not sure anyone would bet on that outcome.

i think it is pretty clear that @IU Scott needs to start directing all emails to Buckner.

That Trilly guy saying it was Buckner who hired Archie too. Wasn't Fred's choice. He was overruled.😢
Buckner has to go immediately.

I’d expect some boos starting up at the next home game and the BTT.
this is what i think could get crazy. as much as i want Woodson gone like today, i don't like us reigning down boos on our home court. i mean i like the message to the higher ups, but not the kids playing the game. i would think the last two wins have fooled a few and calmed the storm enough to quell the boos right? i mean i guess if we get beat by a large margin at MN then get off to a bad start vs MSU? still seems like both will have to be bad losses and a bad showing in the first round of the BTT to really get total outrage right? i am curious what all @DC2345 is speaking of when saying not just the crappy on court product? why would Buckner be okay with both? he honestly doesn't care how the program does as long as Woodson is the coach? that just doesn't make any sense to me. surely he doesn't think he's the guy to turn it around? ugh.

If it ends up going this way, I could see students and fans protesting, sort of like picketing..... That could get real ugly.
possibly pitch forks?

Exactly. Have to have a long term solution or recruiting becomes even harder.
If he is coming back you almost have to extend him. Anyone arguing he should be extended?

If Woodson is back, there will be a lot of crow being eaten.
what do you mean by this? like he'll prove us wrong?

Saying we have a young team is one thing and I don't necessarily disagree with that statement but it doesn't excuse being a barely Top 100 team this season. I expect more improvement over the course of the season. Which, maybe we are finally seeing that now but barring a miracle BTT run it is far too late.
that's the thing. all programs have bad years, but it's far too accepted at IU these days. also how bad the bad years are. there are a lot of programs with their bad years looking pretty darn good to me right now.
-
what's tough to accept is how few people really believe that next year will be any better than this year, but still want to give him that year? just wait another year before we even start trying to fix this thing?

You have a point. Maybe rename it Woodson on Hot Seat. He won’t be fired this year, but next year looks really dicey. Will be a lot of hot seat discussion in off season
we can't and won't give up that easily! he very well could lose the last 3 still.

what stinks is this isn't a bad MN team right? they've won 5 straight home games.

XJ 6 years
Galloway 4 years
Leal 4 years
Walker 4 years
Ware 2 years
Reneau 2 years
Gunn 2 years
MM 1 year
Cupps 1 year
These are the players who played today and to me that is a lot of experience
agreed. with the new college game of NIL and transfer portal roster turnover is gonna dictate a lot of new faces every year. young team just can't be an excuse any more.

IU basketball has such low expectations. We are no longer a blue blood.
you don't think "not terrible" is a good standard?

You think we’re good all of a sudden? 😂😂😂 God bless your heart. Maybe some are just trying to be optimistic and not negative after a win. You realize the game thread was four pages long and this one isn’t pass two pages more than two hours after the game? 😂😂😂 Your head is stuck in the “blue skies” for sure. But carry on trying to instigate.
it never ceases to amaze me that some people think we're terrible after one loss and great after one win. it's the whole body of work. it's who we play and where. i'm glad we won, but it doesn't suddenly make me think all is good.

Just listened to Woody's presser after the game. Body language was horrible. He looked like we lost by 15.
Kept saying how X is the difference in this team, and if we'd had X all season we'd be a better team. Well....news flash....you're not going to have X next year, so should we expect more slo-mo offense? And all the other issues we've suffered thru all year?
i struggle with the fact that has played in 15 games. what is our record in those games?

how is that not a f1 on Reece. Elbow to head and neck area is auto f1
X and gunn have had much less called against them. Total BS
Great effort
X playing under control makes this team much better. Say what you want but he does make a difference when he plays under control
without a doubt, but how many times has he done that this season? let's not forget he has played in 15 games this season.

We play both of them and if we best them we would have the tie breakers if we tie with them. Also NW also has been hit hard by the injury bug and lost another starter lady night. Do I think it will happen know because I think winning at Minnesota will be tough
of course i think we'll lose both, but you never know i guess. maybe we win both and all of the right teams lose. we end up 4th. win the BTT and get into the Big Dance! i am actually hearing One Shining Moment in my head right now.

so there are no quotes from anyone. nothing from Dolson or anyone saying Woodson is our guy. i'm holding out hope. obviously if they are having to make an announcement that he is returning they are acknowledging how bad things are getting.
