Would have been harder to believe if we hadn't already watched the Pacers blow a 19 point lead against the Bucks and nearly blow a 23 point lead to the Knicks.

Got to settle down. Rushing everything right now.

It really sucks when you look forward to a highly-rated prospect coming in to try and turn your team around after years of being terrible, only for said prospect to be a bust. Spencer Torkelson, the #1 pick in the 2020 draft, was benched today after five straight hitless games. He had been moved all the way down to seventh in the batting order and was hitting a robust .207 with a meager .609 OPS. For his career he's not even batting his body weight.
With a #1 pick in any sport, there's always going to be some level of excitement that you could be getting a franchise-altering talent, perhaps even a generational talent. But I suppose there are always athletes who, for whatever reason, just never launch. It's such a buzzkill.

It always astounds me how many people can't read or understand maps. Saw a post yesterday about hurricane season approaching with a picture of the Atlantic Ocean and more than one person from Kansas thought it was a map about tornadoes.
Saw another post saying Hurricane Katrina "wasn't that bad of a storm" and it occurred to me that 2005 was so long ago that there can now be adults posting about it who weren't alive when it happened.

Sounds like the Tigers...5-13 since May 1st.
Spencer Torkelson has been so bad they've had to move him all the way down to 7th in the batting order. Guy was a #1 draft pick.

To keep this in line though with IUWBB. I have no clue why Grace Berger isn't seeing the floor. That seemed to be a general consensus of those around us at game that know the WNBA game far better than us.
The way the Fever operate, it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Grace playing for a different team next season. Not saying it will happen, but the Fever give up on players very quickly if they aren't producing. It would be great for Indiana if the Fever became relevant again and an IU alum was part of it, but the post-Tamika Catchings era has just killed that organization. The last seven years have been nothing but losing, wasted draft picks and coaching changes. At least people are going to games again. I hope they don't get frustrated and give up.

Saw the score was 2-2. Checked back a few minutes later and it was 12-0. Probably a good indicator of how this series will go.

I see that Minnesota suddenly rediscovered the meaning of homecourt advantage last night with a garden-variety 45-point win in Game 6.
Nothing unusual about this series at all.

In the last 12 games, the Tigers have held their opponent to 3 runs or less 7 times.
They're 1-6 in those games.

Is there another sport where the swings in scoring/play can differ so much at home vs road or even inside of 48 hours?
Besides what the Pacers/Knicks are doing...look at the Timberwolves. Totally dominate the first 2 games and poof.....disappeared.
If there was ever a year to believe these games are staged, it's this year. Not saying I do, but it's been weird.

Funny - sounds like you are describing Tyrese Halliburton to a tee. Good one!
I think we already know the answer, but will you be around when IU has games next season, or did you only make this account to sh*tpost?

Whatever the Pacers did in Game 4 obviously didn't make it to New York.
-
Carlisle must have gone to the Tom Crean school of subbing yourself out of a lead.

Loving this stuff. No clue on how severe some of the injury excuse stuff is from Midtown but if the Knicks are hurting let's just wrap it up on Friday.
In the postgame Brunson will whine about all the times he got fouled today and will shoot 20+ free throws Tuesday night. We all know how this stuff works.

Brunson's performance so far is what happens when you're more worried about getting calls instead of making shots.

Convenient editing. Watch the full play where you see Nembhard hit his arm. He only shot the ball because he felt contact. If you can’t appreciate Brunson for how good he is, I don’t want to bother with this.
If you think that's a foul then you should just go watch golf or tennis.

"Brunson thought he got fouled"
Poor guy. Must have felt the 3 Pacers watching his shot go up were staring at him and making him uncomfortable.

I gave up on the NBA providing a fair whistle years ago. And, as a result, I simply do not watch. The NBA will always cater to the big markets first and named players second. A small market TEAM is at a distinct disadvantage, especially in the playoffs.
My son, however, is absolutely apoplectic about the officiating in the Pacers/Knocks series. If the story above is to be considered remotely accurate, this might be one of the biggest fixes of all time. There used to be a time where an investigative reporter would deep dive into this kind of story and the league would have genuine concerns that something truly criminal would be found. Unfortunately, in today's environment, the league owns the press as well and, while allowing for surface stories such as this one, you can believe they are already shutting the doors on anything substantial coming out of this.
I've never been a big "pro sports are fixed" kind of guy, but I think the NBA badly wants New York and Boston in the next round so at least one of them will be in the finals. The other six teams are small markets that just don't move the needle.

Really don't see the Pacers winning this series. Absolutely embarrassing to score 73 in the first half and be losing by the start of the fourth.
-
Pacers are going to lose this if they keep giving up offensive rebounds.

Tigers lose 2-1 for the third time in less than a week. Seriously sick of watching this team try to hit.

7 blown saves and Hendricks. Honestly even if we give a couple back the Cubs should be 23-9 before today's gas can approach from the pen once again. Instead of 14 over and dominating the Central to start....we'll sit at 5 over and everything is fine approach from the front office.
Jed "Theo's Coattails" Hoyer please do something.
If it makes you feel any better, the Tigers dropped a pair of 2-1 games this week in which they were up 1-0 going into the 9th. Held the Yankees to 2 hits through 8 innings in their little league stadium last night only for one guy to screw it up. Baseball is dumb sometimes.

Still early, but the AL Central is the only division with 4 teams above .500. This division has been regularly crapped on by media and fans for years now. Maybe it's starting to come around.

Wasn't referring to the outcome. The Pacers were up 19 on the Bucks in Game 3 and fell behind in the fourth. They were up 52-30 on the Knicks in Game 7 and it got to be 73-67 later on. This team has had trouble holding on to big leads.
