I like the idea of letting them turn into a dumpster fire and then say “Nope, we are not going to help you validate!”

I'd rather see them turn into a dumpster fire with a new coach while Woodson has us humming along and we kick their asses for a few years. I grew up in the Mike Davis era watching us lose to them every year and dreamed of a time when we'd finally start smacking them around. Maybe it'll finally happen.

Usually I'm aware of most teams and what's going on but honestly I didn't really know how bad things were in the STL. Won't be a long funeral but seriously what is going on there? Only the Royals and A's have worse records?

When I was looking at that I also noticed Pirates leading the NL Central with a negative run differential. Besides the shortened 2020 season it's only happened a few times.

That division could be a sitting duck if the Cardinals get hot in August again. They're 17-18 since starting 10-24 and have actually gained a game on first place in that span. The Brewers and Pirates wouldn't be playoff teams in the other two divisions. Maybe the Reds end up taking it?

I get that…but what happens when you can’t watch us play? I can barely even find IU games on tv unless it’s against the big premier teams. We aren’t playing on Fox against Northwestern…that is going to air on some random streaming app like Big+ or Fox+ etc…the only reason we have any prime time games is when we play those teams.

Are you still watching on a TV with rabbit ears on top? I don't think I've ever not been able to find an IU game when it was against a Big Ten team.

Maybe I’m strange but beating Duke/equivalent in a bowl game to me falls somewhere between beating Rutgers and beating Purdue. It is no where close to beating Ohio St/Michigan/Penn St. To me those are program definining victories. I don’t look at bowl games with any weight unless it’s in the context of winning a championship. I know i may sound strange but im sure im not the only one who looks at it in this context.

I just can't wrap my mind around why you think the hardest schedule possible is going to benefit this program in any way.

Back in 2010/2011 when Nebraska was getting ready to join the league, there were discussions on our old scout.com board about what the divisions might look like. Someone proposed a division that had us in with OSU, Michigan and PSU (quite prophetic, actually). One of the site's most prominent posters felt that if that ever happened, it would be a death knell for this program, because there was very little chance we could compete with that year in and year out.

We're going into our 10th and (thankfully) final season of being in the Big Ten East. In that time frame, we have zero wins against OSU, one against Michigan and one against PSU, and those two both occurred in the same year when everything got weird. Is our program better now than it was a decade ago? We just had zero players drafted and we're bringing in the worst recruiting class in the conference. Maybe playing those three teams got you excited and held your interest more than playing Minnesota or Illinois would have, but I think there's a lot more evidence suggesting this annual schedule stuffed our program in a trash can and left us wondering if it can ever be fixed.

Guess everyone got their wish not to play Ohio St, Michigan, and Penn St annually….that’s a pretty depressing schedule if you ask me. Only reason to watch IU football is to see those games….who cares about playing Northerstern, Minnesota, Maryland etc. oh well

You have a very strange take on this.

You guys in the Hoosier State or elsewhere closing your windows because of the Canadian fires and impacting air quality?? Wasn't sure how serious we should be taking it. Thought we were in clear but apparently some front is giving it to us for another 2 days.

I've never experienced air this dry in the summer. The humidity has been around 20-30% for the past week or so. We need rain in the worst way.

The Detroit "who needs offense, anyway?" Tigers have 1 run in their last 21 innings and lost to the White Sox today on a walk-off wild pitch.

And today, the "who needs offense, anyway?" Tigers erupted for a couple runs, lost on a walk-off grand slam and got swept.

Meijer in New Albany has self-checkout lanes on both sides of the store.  I tend to do most of my shopping there on the non-grocery side of the store.

They've always closed the self-checkout on that side later in the evening, like after 9:00.  Used to that, expect that, no big deal.

Recently, when I've stopped in there after work, it's been hit and miss if the lanes are open.  That irritates me quite a bit.  The doors on that side of the store are open.  You've got a greater there, but I have to walk all the way to the other side to check out and then I have to walk all the way back to where my car is parked.

Today takes the cake.  2 o'clock on a Saturday afternoon.  The store is packed, and those lanes are closed.  How hard is it to staff a pod of self-checkout lanes?  I need someone there more than I need the greeter.

If I had to guess, the greeter probably isn't trained or skilled enough to manage the checkout lanes. I had that happen once, where I couldn't get an item to scan, so I asked the greeter if she could help, but she didn't have a clue how to fix the issue.

Unfortunately, I've worked in a place where we had less talented/skilled people in more visible places due to staff availability or other issues at the time, so I've seen this before.

That’s fair but I think adding Colvin, Jones, and Heide should be a significant upgrade over losing Newman and Jenkins. Adds some much-needed athleticism to the roster that wasn’t there last year.

Are any of those three even going to start? You're probably like a lot of fans when their team adds new players, not really knowing what they will give you, but just assuming they'll all provide something you didn't have before or meaningfully contribute in some way. I'd say it's far more likely that at least one of them won't be seeing the court much by the start of January, possibly even more than one.
