I know people will focus on the .190 BA....but Kyle Schwarber has .316 OBP and I'd gladly take his 24 on pace for another 45 HR season bat.

.316 OBP isn't very good. The Tigers have the worst offense in baseball and have 4 guys with a higher OBP than that. Luckily he hits home runs or he'd probably be in the minors by now.

  2. Does anyone at ESPN do any research anymore? The Tigers took Max Clark with the third overall pick, and mentioned he was the best player to come out of Indiana since Bryan Bullington, who played for IU. Except, Bullington didn't play for IU, he played for Ball State.

Probably written by someone who was multi-tasking this article and a story about what Wemby will have for breakfast tomorrow.

I have posted this on here previously...

One of the few recruits where I knew a little something. Furst was Bloomington bound....until CAM made the assumption he was wrapped up and stopped paying attention to him. Left the door open, and ol' Pork Chop came in and swept him to W. Lafayette.

It's crazy how badly Archie Miller flubbed that class. He had all the hallmarks of a low-energy recruiter while he was here. He must have had an amazing interview that was totally out of character for him when he applied for the job.

One guy on with two outs is a mini threat

It's a threat when you have the worst offense in MLB and your pitchers are under a ton of pressure to not give up runs. Even though everyone wants to see a no-hitter, winning the game is more important.

Don't understand managers sometimes. The Tigers is no hitting the Blue Jays and the manager took out the starter with two outs in the 7th. He was at only 91 pitches

I know you'd rather see pitchers throw until they drop, but the score was only 2-0, the Blue Jays had a mini-threat going and Manning was starting to labor.

Watching the Spurs, this is crazy. Wemby could literally take a dump on the court and the crowd would ooh and ah like it was the greatest thing they'd ever seen, while Doris Burke waxes poet about how flawlessly he executed said dump.

He's probably going to be great, but geez the hype is off the rails.

I'm shocked (well, not really) at how many articles ESPN has been putting out referring to him as "Wemby." I can't recall any player, in any sport, getting that kind of treatment before even playing a real game.

It would require the person doing the ESPN Power Rankings to let go of any and all bias associated with preseason expectations as well as the belief that some organizations/teams are immune to being bad.

Lmao, 23 again this week. The Pirates are still below them despite sweeping them last time they met and having 5 more wins.

Want to preface this with I like Langford and am always happy he chose IU. I'm not in Indiana and certainly understand how great he was in high school, bit didn't watch it. Didn't see him play, etc.

With that said, as an IU and Celtics fan I've always been fairly underwhelmed with Langford.

I don't mean to knock him and understand averaging 17-18ppg as a freshmen in the Big Ten is no joke whatsoever. But, I just never felt he really contributed to winning that much. He'd have the quietest 17 points you'd ever see.

He couldn't shoot, couldn't go left at all, etc. Archie got blamed for him standing in fhe corner on offense, but I watched 2+ years in Boston and that's all he ever did there too.

I get Boston had Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, etc., bit guys like Semi Ojeleye and Jevonte Green would come in and get involved, while Langford would just stand there and literally run away from the ball.

I've just never seen it with him, and he's never really gotten any better.

I always thought he was a passive player playing for a passive coach. Not a desirable combination.

Got back Sunday night from a 20 day road trip across the country.  As a result, I can comfortably add big rig drivers who are going 65 MPH that decide to pass the truck in front of them that is going 64.9999992484 MPH while on a highway with only two lanes in each direction.  30 miles later down the road, no one has made any progress.

This is probably what I hate most about interstates. Interstates were designed for faster travel. I want to get up to 75 and just hit cruise control. It's so annoying constantly having to brake for trucks that do this.

As a Celtics fan, I would be pissed if Brad Stevens was even wasting a second thinking about whether he should draft a Boston College or UConn kid out of some sort of local loyalty.

Makes no sense at the professional level.

Indiana fans (and Purdue fans, for that matter) have this weird fascination and bond with players who come from Indiana. I've never quite figured out why, or why it seems to be exclusive to this state.
