  1. They moved up in ESPN's power rankings last week after going 1-5.
  2. If you draft a guy #1 and he barely hits .200 as a rookie and is then hitting .224 the next year, is it anything to worry about? Asking for a friend.
  3. I'd rather see them turn into a dumpster fire with a new coach while Woodson has us humming along and we kick their asses for a few years. I grew up in the Mike Davis era watching us lose to them every year and dreamed of a time when we'd finally start smacking them around. Maybe it'll finally happen.
  4. I could have sworn I heard awhile back this was going to resume in the '24-'25 season. Can't help but wonder if Calipari said '25-'26 because he's not planning to be there for it.
  5. The McDonald's in my community has long been an example of how to not be successful, but this is a new low even for them.
  6. Finally got a real thunderstorm for the first time in a month and the wind damaged my milkweed garden. Another air quality alert in effect tomorrow and no rain predicted all week. This summer sucks.
  7. What is the point of a "silent" commitment? Never understood that.
  8. I know construction is important, but holy sh*t, Indy and the surrounding area are a mess right now.
  9. That division could be a sitting duck if the Cardinals get hot in August again. They're 17-18 since starting 10-24 and have actually gained a game on first place in that span. The Brewers and Pirates wouldn't be playoff teams in the other two divisions. Maybe the Reds end up taking it?
  10. The Tigers have to be leading MLB in interleague games postponed.
  11. Are you still watching on a TV with rabbit ears on top? I don't think I've ever not been able to find an IU game when it was against a Big Ten team.
  12. I just can't wrap my mind around why you think the hardest schedule possible is going to benefit this program in any way. Back in 2010/2011 when Nebraska was getting ready to join the league, there were discussions on our old scout.com board about what the divisions might look like. Someone proposed a division that had us in with OSU, Michigan and PSU (quite prophetic, actually). One of the site's most prominent posters felt that if that ever happened, it would be a death knell for this program, because there was very little chance we could compete with that year in and year out. We're going into our 10th and (thankfully) final season of being in the Big Ten East. In that time frame, we have zero wins against OSU, one against Michigan and one against PSU, and those two both occurred in the same year when everything got weird. Is our program better now than it was a decade ago? We just had zero players drafted and we're bringing in the worst recruiting class in the conference. Maybe playing those three teams got you excited and held your interest more than playing Minnesota or Illinois would have, but I think there's a lot more evidence suggesting this annual schedule stuffed our program in a trash can and left us wondering if it can ever be fixed.
  13. Apparently Craig Teagle resigned from New Albany less than 2 months after taking the job and is now heading to Bluffton to replace Adam Gray...who also resigned less than 2 months after being hired. 🤔
  14. The weather group I follow loves roasting the crazy people who complain all the time and I'm here for it:
  15. Thought the Tigers might get their first win of the month today, but they gave up 4 runs in the top of the 9th and lost 7-5. 22 runs in the last 10 games. Who needs offense, anyway?
  16. You have a very strange take on this.
  17. Not a single team from northeast Indiana made the state finals for baseball or softball this year.
  18. Looks like the NL Central was just what the doctor ordered for the A's...now 16-50 after winning 4 of their last 5 against the Pirates and Brewers.
  19. I've never experienced air this dry in the summer. The humidity has been around 20-30% for the past week or so. We need rain in the worst way.
  20. And today, the "who needs offense, anyway?" Tigers erupted for a couple runs, lost on a walk-off grand slam and got swept.
  21. I think they'll be a 2 seed and lose in the second weekend.
  22. The Detroit "who needs offense, anyway?" Tigers have 1 run in their last 21 innings and lost to the White Sox today on a walk-off wild pitch.
  23. The Eagle has landed: a brief thunderstorm moved through this afternoon. First rain in 15 days and first thunder in 22 days. No rain predicted for another week at least.
  24. If I had to guess, the greeter probably isn't trained or skilled enough to manage the checkout lanes. I had that happen once, where I couldn't get an item to scan, so I asked the greeter if she could help, but she didn't have a clue how to fix the issue. Unfortunately, I've worked in a place where we had less talented/skilled people in more visible places due to staff availability or other issues at the time, so I've seen this before.
  25. Are any of those three even going to start? You're probably like a lot of fans when their team adds new players, not really knowing what they will give you, but just assuming they'll all provide something you didn't have before or meaningfully contribute in some way. I'd say it's far more likely that at least one of them won't be seeing the court much by the start of January, possibly even more than one.
