  1. This is a good point on TJD. When he goes up strong, he follows through and generally finishes. When he goes up looking for contact and simply floats the ball at the basket, he usually misses. This is probably his last crack at little brother at home, so I would hope he goes beast mode. CMW should have the boys fired-up in a way Archie never understood.
  2. It remains to be seen what the market will be for our basketball NIL. You're talking about IU football that just face planted after having huge momentum and record season tickets sales. That's on Allen, and he literally paid for it. IU basketball is an engraved brand that we all grew up with. When we went on a run in 2002, you couldn't find a DVD of Hoosiers anywhere. If/when we start winning big in basketball, the money will be there.
  3. Yes. And their product should be a road suit for the head coach that guarantees victory away from Assembly!
  4. It's within the rules now with the NIL. Agree it gives an opportunity for a long suffering traditional power to capitalize. I heard a discussion about Nick Saban sounding scared of the effects of the NIL. The Bama announcers claimed it would give them an even bigger advantage. I highly disagree. The Kentuckys, Dukes, Bamas, Clemson, O$Us can't pay more to elevate their recruiting rankings; they're already at the top of both. Not all boosters are comfortable with the steps it takes to buy a Zion, Anthony Davis, Fab 5, Cam Newton. Now they can do it completely legally and compliant with the NCAA. Deion Sanders just proved my point. And it should be easier to do in basketball based purely on numbers. If only we could get Cuban to sell the Mavs and make our Hoosiers his top sports investment😅
  5. This is a great question. I'm actually surprised the biggest personal injury firms aren't battling for that market. Car dealerships have taken a hit, so that typical market may not be there for now. It's only a matter of time, and once you have a few early adopters, I think we'll see the flood gates open. The problem is the how you gauge ROI and set market value. A&M boosters went big. Instead of buying one 5 star left tackle that could flop, the A&M people became the ones that bought an entire line. That's a nice reputation to have!
  6. Good size. Let's see how he develops with a college strength and nutrition program.
  7. It's just my opinion, but those are two huge losses. One on each side of the ball. It's not just the loss of the player, but the attention and focus they command. Do you think they're easily replaced? And is AOC as productive without Bell?
  8. With the transfer portal, it's so hard to predict. Teams can do a 180 in one year now. Look at MSU. I don't think we'll be as good as 2020, but not as bad as 2021 because of injuries. The only absolutely not winnable game is OSU. Cinci, MSU, Michigan, and little brother take a step back. Maryland and Rutgers move up. PSU is usually about the same, which is very good, but we have a shot. Nebraska on the road is tough but winnable. Anything from 5-8 wins wouldn't shock me. Hopefully depth helps in the closing stretch.
  9. All my Bama and Georgia friends that went to the game loved the Indy experience. Great sports and entertainment, and it's an easy flight or drive. Way to represent Hoosiers!
  10. True. Just saying Penix never played a complete season while at IU. Unfortunately extremely injury prone.
  11. As much as I liked Penix, him being gone should help with the health of the qb room. He was hurt every year.
  12. Must have been the entrancing food that kept you there so long!
  13. Now you're talking. My wife and I once opened and closed a BW3's in December because we played UConn in hoops 2pm, and UK played UNC at 11AM. There was more football in the afternoon, then conference football championships in the evening. We filled in spare time with Golden Tee and trivia. Went through 4 servers. Good times.
  14. Oh, I absolutely agree with you. Have an entire day of coverage and analysis. It would be a great Saturday event.
  15. Fair enough. But the championship is still a Monday night.
  16. Television ratings and ad spend. Prime time weeknight. Same reason NC game in basketball is on a Monday night. Screw the fans that travel and work.
  17. That always concerned me with Warren. Same with Sheridan. Hopefully the knew DC has a proven track record, and familiarity with our defensive system and philosophies.
  18. They've solidly positioned themselves in the second tier of the east after Georgia. UK, UT, and Florida if they can ever get their act together. Stoops has the exact blueprint UK needs to succeed; recruit Ohio, Georgia, Florida, and Nashville, along with Kentucky's best. Staff continuity is also huge. Hope Allen can get us there consistently as well, although the B1G East and SEC east are MUCH different levels currently.
  19. Unfortunately probably true. Assuming his injury is minimal, I think it shows NFL teams Corral is tough and dedicated to his team. I like those qualities in my team leader. You're going to get hurt in the NFL, it's how you respond that separates some guys.
  20. The announcers have been unanimously promoting the players that are playing instead of sitting out. Seems ESPN doesn't appreciate people hurting their ratings and product. Hope Corral's injury doesn't encourage more to sit out. There have been some great bowl games this year.
  21. If Georgia applies strong pressure the entire game and dominates Bama, it might raise some questions about Georgia's motivation in Atlanta.
  22. As long as they keep the pressure up on defense, they should be successful. They inexplicably stopped pressuring Young after the first quarter, even though it was very effective.
  23. Would've been great to see OSU's offense vs. Georgia's defense. Still think those are the two best teams this season.
  24. Very cool. As a former qb that ran mostly I-formation, I love play action. I talked my coach into letting us run the run-n-shoot one game, and instead of passing for a ton of yards like I thought, he kept running qb draws that were wide open. Probably had double the yards rushing as passing. You take what the defense gives you. Love your passing efficiency, btw. Very impressive numbers.
