  1. Love that his mom is recruiting for us on Twitter. Really excited about his athleticism and competitiveness.
  2. Need 1 this week and we should get in. 1 win this week and 1 in the B1G tourney and we're in for sure. Can't believe losing a Cov game and the Northwestern suspensions should cost us.
  3. And he shot many of those from DEEP. With ease. Has a solid step back and can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. With his size, shooting, and two more years to develop, there is much to like with him.
  4. That was a great comparison. Texas football is another good example. They have a country club culture where players seem to think getting a scholarship and jersey hands them the keys to the club with all the trappings.
  5. Sounds good to me. As long as we have one in the McFadden mold!
  6. Why do I get the feeling Kaiden Turner could possibly turn into a Micah McFadden type of player? Tough guys with a nose for the ball just seem to perform. McFadden had a ridiculous closing burst, and obviously proved himself to have been way underrated as a recruit. Not sure how Turner will transition to the B1G, but I like his potential. Here's to hoping CTA found another linebacker gem.
  7. Good article. One and done worked for UK when they were the alpha dog. As soon as Coach K wanted to play the game, again, Duke became 1a and UK was relegated to 1b. Not enough top 10 talent to go around. They had to feed a bunch of kids and their parents that they were one and done lottery picks when they clearly were not close to that level.(Keion)
  8. All great points. It's the Saban effect. Auburn usually has to take risks with talented players that sometimes have questionable backgrounds. They have also been quick on the trigger with some coaches that have had success. Cam Newton and Nick Marshall were hired guns that had great success, but also lead to rapid declines after they were gone. And I say all this as someone that cheers for Auburn over Bama, and has a brother in law that played baseball at Auburn.
  9. Most of the Auburn alumni I know were shocked and very disappointed in his hire. Not sure he has been a good culture fit. Then you have the big money donors that want to call the shots and get "their guy". Marital infidelity provides a very convenient excuse. Just not sure who they plan on hiring. Think LSU making a move, and Auburn's rivals Bama and UGA mega success, just adds to their sense of urgency.
  10. We would turn ourselves in to do the "right thing".
  11. Let's hope that's the case. Put everyone on a level playing field and see who the best team is when competing on an apples to apples basis. As a wise observer said above, no more Furmans before a rivalry game.
  12. If the alliance, whose teams already play one power 5 non-conference game, add 2 more, they will guarantee 2 or 3 SEC teams make the 4 team playoff every year. In spite of substantially stronger schedules, ESPN will pump up the SEC and protect their product. The SEC will continue to play 1 power 5 game, and 3 gimmes. They'll also laugh their heads off that the other conferences are so inept. Hope the B1G is smarter than that.
  13. At least the B1G realizes they're handicapping themselves by playing 9 conference games when the SEC only plays 8. Half the conference gets 1 additional loss instead of playing a total trash team like Furman. It's not the best thing for season ticket holders, but helps the conference win more games and stay competitive.
  14. Yeah, seeing him in different situations would be nice. Highlights are highlights for a reason. I like his tools, and it's great to know he's competed well against strong competition in Texas. It will be fun to see how it translates to college, and how he develops.
  15. At a conference all weekend and just now seeing this. After watching his video, I can see a bigger Trace McSorley skillset. Sorsby's ability to throw on the run is solid for a high school qb. With his size, he can really give defenses problems because it's 50/50 whether he'll run or pass when he rolls out. Like the pick up. What are your overall thoughts?
  16. Had. 1-AA years ago. Not sure what year they folded the football program. Went there on a recruiting visit in winter. It was cold and took 5 hours from Fort Wayne due to weather. Only time I was ever on campus.
  17. Replace Kopp with Galloway. Still feel like unless both PS and Kopp are hot from three, they shouldn't play together. They're the same player and both lack lateral quickness on defense. This is even more true if Galloway can hit from deep at a decent rate.
  18. This is a good point on TJD. When he goes up strong, he follows through and generally finishes. When he goes up looking for contact and simply floats the ball at the basket, he usually misses. This is probably his last crack at little brother at home, so I would hope he goes beast mode. CMW should have the boys fired-up in a way Archie never understood.
  19. It remains to be seen what the market will be for our basketball NIL. You're talking about IU football that just face planted after having huge momentum and record season tickets sales. That's on Allen, and he literally paid for it. IU basketball is an engraved brand that we all grew up with. When we went on a run in 2002, you couldn't find a DVD of Hoosiers anywhere. If/when we start winning big in basketball, the money will be there.
  20. Yes. And their product should be a road suit for the head coach that guarantees victory away from Assembly!
  21. It's within the rules now with the NIL. Agree it gives an opportunity for a long suffering traditional power to capitalize. I heard a discussion about Nick Saban sounding scared of the effects of the NIL. The Bama announcers claimed it would give them an even bigger advantage. I highly disagree. The Kentuckys, Dukes, Bamas, Clemson, O$Us can't pay more to elevate their recruiting rankings; they're already at the top of both. Not all boosters are comfortable with the steps it takes to buy a Zion, Anthony Davis, Fab 5, Cam Newton. Now they can do it completely legally and compliant with the NCAA. Deion Sanders just proved my point. And it should be easier to do in basketball based purely on numbers. If only we could get Cuban to sell the Mavs and make our Hoosiers his top sports investment😅
  22. This is a great question. I'm actually surprised the biggest personal injury firms aren't battling for that market. Car dealerships have taken a hit, so that typical market may not be there for now. It's only a matter of time, and once you have a few early adopters, I think we'll see the flood gates open. The problem is the how you gauge ROI and set market value. A&M boosters went big. Instead of buying one 5 star left tackle that could flop, the A&M people became the ones that bought an entire line. That's a nice reputation to have!
  23. Good size. Let's see how he develops with a college strength and nutrition program.
  24. It's just my opinion, but those are two huge losses. One on each side of the ball. It's not just the loss of the player, but the attention and focus they command. Do you think they're easily replaced? And is AOC as productive without Bell?
