Exactly. He was LSU's top realistic choice from what I've heard. Not saying it works out, but MSU certainly got the job done to keep him. This won't be the last of the coaching salary insanity this off-season.

Agree. Hopefully our new O-line coach will have some connections.

That would be a great game, and even better story. Ratings would be huge. Give me UGA and OK. St. in the 1/4 game, and we have some fresh interest. -

Bama drops to #3. Assuming Buckeyes and Cinci win this week. If OK. St. wins, they move up to 4 or 5 with Cinci in the other spot. This doesn't even bring Notre Dame into the discussion yet. If Georgia beats Bama, Tide is outside looking in. -
Look at MSU for how quickly you can turn a program around with the portal. We have basically every starting position on offense up for grabs next season. Should be attractive to guys that want minutes against great competition. Just need a new OC and system that attracts the type of players we need.
-
Hope the seniors and guys that still give a rip play hard to win. The seniors have had a great career other than this season. It would be nice to finish with a W over little brother.
-
Ha! This season has created vast perspectives on teams worthiness. It's fun to discuss and debate. Don't sleep on OK St. if they win out. Their defense is legit, and they're playing their best ball now. If they beat Oklahoma and finish with 1 loss, tough to keep them out. But then who gets left out?! The committee will have some serious rationalizing to do either way.
-
You could be right, and that's what ESPN has been angling for all year. Cinci has done themselves no favors struggling to beat some bad opponents. Notre Dame has me stumped. 1 loss and it's to an undefeated top 5 team. They've looked dominant at times, and mediocre at others. I just think Bama is playing off years past. They lost to an unranked and mediocre A&M that was struggling at the time. Their best win is Ole Miss. The SEC and Bama aren't what they've been the past decade this season. Hard to convince me a 2 loss team with that resume deserves it. Shockingly, several Bama fans I know agree. Guess we'll see. But in the playoff, Saban is their trump card. He just wins.
-
Is that a 2 loss Bama, or assuming they beat Georgia and each have 1 loss? I'm on board with a 1 loss Bama for sure. 2 losses, in my opinion, would require several more teams to lose, and an epic finish with Bama/UGA.
-
I wonder if they thought by leading, everyone else would follow. In the past that probably was the case. Now the SEC does what ESPN tells them. ESPN swings a bigger stick than the B1G these days, and they know how to promote and protect their product.
-
True. If the other conferences don't force uniformity in scheduling, why not take advantage of it. Just surprised the B1G and OSU let the SEC and ESPN out strategize them.
-
Completely agree SEC and B1G are leagues above everyone else. I just think the extra conference game puts the B1G at a disadvantage in terms rankings, injuries, and upset potential. The extra conference game literally causes half the conference to have 1 additional loss automatically, which effects rankings and bowl eligibility.
-
Do you think it should effect their strength of schedule? Should it be discussed they get basically another bye week in the middle of the their conference schedule, while other conferences are grinding it out? I personally believe Bama should've dropped last week when they played New Mexico State and OSU dominated another conference foe. But then again, I admit my anti-SEC bias openly.

He's a true freshman, has no line, and walk-on running backs. Tough situation to be thrown into your first year. We'll see what he can do with a full off-season to prepare and gain chemistry with backs and receivers.

All of the Bama fans I talked with yesterday feel they have no chance against Georgia. They also think they deserve to be in the playoff with 2 losses and their best win against Ole Miss. Delusional. -
I'd like to fall asleep with my finger on the like button for this!

Love that Sheridan thought of a TE run to Hendershot, but sad we're having to resort to that. -

Can't imagine how bad the drop-off in season tickets sales will be. Better find a Mike Leach protege as OC to stimulate some excitement. -

Don't think Bama is in the same league with UGA and OSU this year. If Georgia is allowed to show what they can do in the SEC title game, we'll all find out. -

Georgia is the only defense that has a prayer of slowing O$U down. -
The optimist in me hopes with a change in offense we could have Deboer level improvement. The pragmatist in me needs to see the necessary changes take place for that to happen. With the transfer portal, you can completely change your identity in one off-season. Hope Dolson and CTA are willing to make those changes.
-
Agree. And he would be a great complimentary point to the others we will have. As long as they can shoot and have good length, having two or even three point guards on the floor could be a huge asset. *Bonus points for working Zapruder into the discussion.

That would be about it, although you might rethink that in July and August!
