  1. With the transfer portal, it's so hard to predict. Teams can do a 180 in one year now. Look at MSU. I don't think we'll be as good as 2020, but not as bad as 2021 because of injuries. The only absolutely not winnable game is OSU. Cinci, MSU, Michigan, and little brother take a step back. Maryland and Rutgers move up. PSU is usually about the same, which is very good, but we have a shot. Nebraska on the road is tough but winnable. Anything from 5-8 wins wouldn't shock me. Hopefully depth helps in the closing stretch.
  2. All my Bama and Georgia friends that went to the game loved the Indy experience. Great sports and entertainment, and it's an easy flight or drive. Way to represent Hoosiers!
  3. True. Just saying Penix never played a complete season while at IU. Unfortunately extremely injury prone.
  4. As much as I liked Penix, him being gone should help with the health of the qb room. He was hurt every year.
  5. Must have been the entrancing food that kept you there so long!
  6. Now you're talking. My wife and I once opened and closed a BW3's in December because we played UConn in hoops 2pm, and UK played UNC at 11AM. There was more football in the afternoon, then conference football championships in the evening. We filled in spare time with Golden Tee and trivia. Went through 4 servers. Good times.
  7. Oh, I absolutely agree with you. Have an entire day of coverage and analysis. It would be a great Saturday event.
  8. Fair enough. But the championship is still a Monday night.
  9. Television ratings and ad spend. Prime time weeknight. Same reason NC game in basketball is on a Monday night. Screw the fans that travel and work.
  10. That always concerned me with Warren. Same with Sheridan. Hopefully the knew DC has a proven track record, and familiarity with our defensive system and philosophies.
  11. They've solidly positioned themselves in the second tier of the east after Georgia. UK, UT, and Florida if they can ever get their act together. Stoops has the exact blueprint UK needs to succeed; recruit Ohio, Georgia, Florida, and Nashville, along with Kentucky's best. Staff continuity is also huge. Hope Allen can get us there consistently as well, although the B1G East and SEC east are MUCH different levels currently.
  12. Unfortunately probably true. Assuming his injury is minimal, I think it shows NFL teams Corral is tough and dedicated to his team. I like those qualities in my team leader. You're going to get hurt in the NFL, it's how you respond that separates some guys.
  13. The announcers have been unanimously promoting the players that are playing instead of sitting out. Seems ESPN doesn't appreciate people hurting their ratings and product. Hope Corral's injury doesn't encourage more to sit out. There have been some great bowl games this year.
  14. If Georgia applies strong pressure the entire game and dominates Bama, it might raise some questions about Georgia's motivation in Atlanta.
  15. As long as they keep the pressure up on defense, they should be successful. They inexplicably stopped pressuring Young after the first quarter, even though it was very effective.
  16. Would've been great to see OSU's offense vs. Georgia's defense. Still think those are the two best teams this season.
  17. Very cool. As a former qb that ran mostly I-formation, I love play action. I talked my coach into letting us run the run-n-shoot one game, and instead of passing for a ton of yards like I thought, he kept running qb draws that were wide open. Probably had double the yards rushing as passing. You take what the defense gives you. Love your passing efficiency, btw. Very impressive numbers.
  18. That's actually a pretty cool perspective on learning plays, formations, or concepts. I literally just talked with a high school OC about this two minutes ago. He said it's things they discuss and play with in the spring. Not much transfers, but it sometimes sparks creativity.
  19. Don't care whether he lines up in the backfield or the slot, that kind of speed and quickness is lethal. He seems thicker and more powerful than I thought too. He's gonna be fun to watch.
  20. Remember watching Danny Nee at Ohio University. He had some really good teams there in the 80's.
  21. That's interesting. Part of the Bo Nix mystique was created his freshman year with the hail mary touchdown pass that helped Auburn beat Oregon. Talk about a serious culture and geographic change.
  22. Appreciate what you bring to the board. I absolutely love IU football and recruiting. There is much to be excited about.
  23. I would think there will be more hit the portal after bowl games and the playoffs. There definitely will be transfers after spring practices and guys see how things are shaking out with first team reps. Save a scholarship, don't reach, and be ready when an opportunity arises.
  24. I'm not much of a NBA fan anymore, but the player he reminds me of in college is Julius Randle. Dominant college player with no outside shot, and only went to his left. With my wife being an UK fan, I watched most of his games. He was obviously much stronger, but their size and skill level in college seem similar. Randle has obviously had a nice NBA career and learned to shoot, so could TJD play that kind of role?
