These are the 247 ratings (HS or transfer) for the IU roster. Will any other team in CBB have this combination of talent and experience? I don't know who it would be.

Ballo, Mgbako & Tucker - 5 stars. Two McD's AA

Carlyle, Cupps, Galloway, Goode, Leal, Newton, Reneau & Rice - 4 stars

I'd probably just go ahead and pull Cupps, Newton, and Leal off the list of 4 stars--- that seems silly.

But, I agree, especially in the B1G. There isn't a more talented team in the B1G.

I can’t imagine Woody would actually play Goode at the 4.  He wants a different element.  Maybe for a minute or two but  not  a regular thing.

The way the roster is set currently, I see Goode regularly playing the 4. Who else is going to get those minutes, based on the roster?

MR/MM are the only 4s on that roster and we aren't recruiting one.

I really like Myles’ game. He can really get in the lane and create.  He is really savvy, knows how to change speeds to get defender on his hip.

Carlyle seems to bring a different element in that he’s more electric but maybe not as savvy.  But let Rice control the ball and put Carlyle off it and they can potentially be lethal together.

People would say we had talent last year.  Yet as a group we had subpar guards and that’s basically a proven fact.  You can’t have guards like that and then claim you’ve got talent.

The only thing people have to backup that claim is... "but but look at the stars on their recruiting profiles"

    Kiper's observation of the Colts.

I don't really understand the complaints about corner, and don't get knocking the draft because they didn't pick a position that HE felt they needed to upgrade.

Jaylon Jones JUST turned 22 years old and started in 10 games last year, playing in all 17.

Julius Brents 2nd rd last year, Kenny Moore is a Top 2-3 slot corner, Dallis Flowers comes back from injury, and with 20+ million in cap, I would be pretty surprised if they didn't sign, at least, one vet corner.

Either way-- the corner room didn't need anymore youth.

From the draft grades I have seen, the consensus seems to be the Bears and Colts both received between B+ and A for the draft. I don't put much stock into draft grades for 2/3 years, but I do think both teams drafted well this week.

I have no clue. Simply sharing what I see. I'd be pretty happy as a Bears fan getting the only QB prospect, imo, that has a chance to be a star in this draft and a top 3 WR.

As a Colts fan, we need some depth places--- found that.

The two safeties, corner, and Day 3 WR are all gunna be excellent special teamers and with the new rules could be very valuable.

Colts still have 20+ million in cap space-- with maybe needing a vet Free safety as their only hole? As their only starter spot missing. Maybe you sign a vet corner, too? But idk if the roster space was there.

Outside of spending on that--- I wouldn't mind seeing a chunk of that used to extend Ryan Kelley for a year or two.

I did laugh at espn for having "TE" as a position of need for the Colts, its not.

    A) not to be confused with McCorkle Jones, current Jaguars QB. :coffee:

    B) That’s a solid get for Coach Cig if he had offers from Florida, Florida State and Iowa.

He has official visits lined up at Kansas, Iowa, and Florida.

This is very well-thought of guy.

Lost amid the slavering over the quarterbacks who went No. 1, 2, and 3 was Nix's supremacy in several critical statistical areas that Payton highly prioritizes. The Broncos had eyes for Nix dating back weeks, and late Thursday night, Payton talked about how the Oregon product "stood out" from his fellow first-round QB brethren.

"I would say that probably early into the process, shortly after these workouts, he stood out in a lot of areas," Payton said on Thursday night following Round 1 of the draft. "You pay close attention to all the film study. Obviously, he’s played a lot of football, but [he stood out in] sack differential, turnover differential, accuracy, third-down passing. [He was] first, first, first, first in this class. First in end-of-half, first in end-of-game, two-minute situations, second in red zone. Then let’s do another passing statistic and remove a lot of the short, underneath throws. Obviously, that’s part of what they do offensively, and you remove that, and you come back with the analytics, and it’s still first. I would say his arm strength was—we saw it at the Pro Day—but even in the private workout, was very good. He’s super smart."

He should be better at those categories lol... he's 2 years older than the rest of them!!

All I did was respond to the video that was posted in this thread.

I'm sure you are busy typing to the other participants in the coach conversation that their posts don't belong here either ;)  I know you didn't single out my post just to silence an opposing opinion ;)

You chose to respond to the 5-second ending of that video. You completely glossed over the fact that, Goode hasn't committed anywhere, at all, and Bardo was literally acting like it was a done deal/had been announced... that was the "story", that's why it was posted....

Would have loved for the Colts to get up to 8th and pick Adunze?

The Falcons situation is deeper than just "I don't think Penix should have gone in the first rd"... like if they had signed Cousins, and then picked, you know the YOUNGEST QB in the draft JJ McCarthy, maybe I would have understood it, probably not, but JJ is almost 3 full years younger than Penix. Last night was wild.

You would think they would have at least looked to trade down before taking them. Ballard said he tried to trade up and would thought the Falcons or Broncos would have been willing to trade down. It is obvious either of those two QB's would have been their for their at 15

It's unimaginable to me the Falcons not just trying to get Penix with their 2nd rd pick. Idk.

Vikings, Colts, and Raiders should be thanking other teams.
