According to the NCAA rules, in order to be granted a medical redshirt, the athlete must:

    • Suffer an injury that is deemed “season-ending”
    • Their injury must occur before the halfway point of the season
    • Not participate in more than 30% of the season’s games

Yep.  So thats where my confusion is... why did IU even bring it up then?

Don't understand the hate on Reneau.

Agree. Then I mentioned, "I don't care if Cupps transfers on BTBers" (with the context of Hemenway committing) and it was like I told them to learn Spanish.

Some guys catch flak, some get passes. Idc that Cupps was a FR, he wasn't good, at all. Malik is a stud and needs more coaching and skill development.

    Malik SO eFG%- .579

    TJD SR eFG%- .581

I was wondering about why only 4 years for Goode wam mentioned. 3 years played plus one year left was what I heard. So found this interesting:

TDH:  You missed a significant part of your sophomore year with an injury.  I’m curious if you’ve assessed whether you’ll have an opportunity to play a fifth season of college basketball?

GOODE — They (IU) actually brought that up to me on my visit.  I went into that year knowing that I potentially wouldn’t get it back, but the staff did bring it up that I could potentially get a fifth year.  That’s 100 percent something that I would look forward to.

In the Goode thread, but yes, fingers crossed.

I would be highly surprised.  he hasn't played basketball in 2 years.  I would expect him to be rust AF this year and maybe come back to form in the 25 season.  Gotta build up the endurance and game speed skillset.  Shooting is so much about the legs.  Gonna take a while.

true.. but he's never going to play long stretches this year, anyways

And.. to be fair... I assume most thought that about Myles Rice last year..

There will be high expectations next year, and rightfully so. With the MM, MR and TG returning, and the influx of talent coming in, we should expect big things next year. Barring injuries, no excuses.

meh--- even then, I don't want to hear it. Fill every scholly, develop depth, grow players, etc etc. It would take a massive amount of injuries for me to care about those excuses.

We now have plenty of talent on this team, at all spots.  Cupps and Galloway can come off the bench like they should have.  This is going to come down to coaching and execution.  Can the coaching staff get this team coached up and playing together and can the team execute what the staff wants them to do.

To many time over the last couple years we either haven't been coached well or the players weren't able to execute well enough to succeed.

I will be very disappointed if we're not SIGNIFICANTLY better with the talent we just added to this team.

    I agree.

    Way too early BIG outlook!

Some good info about the comings and going’s around the conference!

Spoiler they have IU #1 and Purdue #2.

While IU has a lot to prove next year, I’m not sure I buy Purdue having one of the best backcourts in the country? Time will tell for both teams!

That link made we click on another link--- https://bustingbrackets.com/posts/big-ten-basketball-way-too-early-power-rankings-for-2024-25-season-01hwf5wjcykw

I think that'll make it more direct

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I don't buy Purdue's backcourt, at all.

  8. The dumbest move this offseason had to have been the Reds giving Candelario 40+ million over 3 years. That's insane. He sucks.

Idk why I didn't register that move until now. And epically awful decision.

I'm pro Nick Krall but jesus christ.
