Purdue plays to win the state. IU plays to win the National Championship. Might help bringing in local kids in beating us in a rivalry game but I don’t see it helping them win a NC. I trust the staff to bring in nba talent to run their nba sets.

Amen! I don't care if Purdue sweeps us every year, as long as we are competing for National Titles or deep runs often

They got a very good one. This kid and Washington were the 2 I wanted most. I will gladly eat my crow if he doesn't become a very very good player and I will be shocked if he does not light the Hoosiers up. I trust our staff but this was a big miss

He jumped on that offer fast!  He is either a Purdue fan or knew that's the best he was going to get.

  3. I'm pretty certain its him. That guy has a very distinct nose. Same nose as the original pic...  Justice would be letting 3 dads do what needs to be done.

Having two daughters and a granddaughter, I can't imagine the rage and pain these people are going through. I don't think my soul would ever be at peace until I got him myself. Heartbreaking

Analysis piece on India's current status.

    https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/29/india/india-covid-crisis-world-problem/index.html

This paragraph is why it is important to us, even though the numbers in the U.S. have improved.

The more the virus spreads, the more chances it has to mutate and create variants that could eventually resist current vaccines, threatening to undermine other countries' progress in containing the pandemic, experts warn.

The problem is it spreads even after you take the vaccine, and it is going to have variants regardless. Just like the flu and flu shots...  we are chasing this thing down a deep rabbit hole I'm afraid.

Agree, 1000%. This has always really annoyed me. If restaurants are so important, then vaccinate the staff. All of them!

I'm not sure about NY, but I know for a fact if you tried to force staff to get vaccinated here. You wouldn't have a business for long...  we can barely get people to work as is... our local fast food joints are always apologizing on social media for lack of staff. Or they close early, or out of the blue, middle of the day

  6. I have personally never seen Smith play.  How does he match up against high level D1 kids when they play each other? I understand some of your frustration.

When Nic Moore was at Warsaw,  I never saw him get outplayed. I always felt like he was the best player on the floor.  Better than Deshaun Thomas or any of the North Central kids he played against at state.. I was in the house when he dropped 50 on one of Painters kids, while Painter was present.  It blew my mind that Purdue never offered

Why is everybody so high on Clowney? As of now, isn’t he a 3 star kid (or am I thinking of somebody else) that just happens to be 6’10?  Why are we drooling over this guy? Did he just blow up this past year and his ranking hasn’t reflected it yet? Not that I’m a huge fan of rankings, but that’s part of the anti-Smith argument... fact he doesn’t get much attention from the rankers and coaches. Believe I did see Clowney had some P5 offers but I don’t remember them being impressive schools. I could be way off here, going off aging memory!

I definitely want this kid. Nothing against Smith, but this guy is oozing talent

Pretty stupid if you ask me.

I completely understand the NBA drafting on potential. You have to be a top athlete in the NBA first and foremost. For your questions.. I have no idea how much better each can get, that'll be up to them.

I don't disagree with you.  Just pointing out that physical limitations weigh into recruiting.

Nic Moore played here at Warsaw and was phenomenal.  I think he could have played just about anywhere in college,  but his height kept the power houses away

It literally means "ranked higher".. because rankings still matter for some reason. Truthfully.. I think Braden Smith is better than Khristian Lander.

How much better can Smith get? How much better can Lander get?  A lot of this recruiting stuff is just like the NBA, based on potential...

I personally think that every player on our current roster is a Big Ten caliber player.  Are all of them all-conference level?  No,  But, that rule applies to every single team in the country.

Not saying they aren't.  But there are a few who would get spot minutes at best on a top 3 team in the BIG. Just my opinion, but Woody and Fife both know what a National caliber team looks like. To get to that level, we need to make some hard realistic decisions on the front end of this thing.   Again, I would be fine keeping everyone we have.

I also think Woody will push harder due to his age. I would want to reap the rewards of my efforts,  instead of build it slowly and hand it off to the younger guy... but that's just me
