  1. People who talk on bluetooth headsets or use speaker phone when on a phone call in public.
  2. I don't like to pay people to fix things I can do myself. Alot of projects are first time experiences. Have a front load washing machine with worn out bearings. Decided to replace them because parts cost $100 versus a new machine. Holy crap was it a job and a half. Took me 6 hours. Basically had to disassemble and reassemble the whole machine. But was ultimately successful. Because it is who I am I will probably do it again. Just needed to vent. PS. Had some leftover screws. But that always happens.
  3. I make my own mayo weekly. Since that recipe is too lemony for you try 1 tbsp of lemon 1 tbsp of distilled vinegar. The idea is to just have the acidity in there to retard any potential bacterial growth. I need to try this bang bang chicken salad. Sounds great.
  4. Since we are talking recipes. Get whole water chestnuts. Marinate in soy sauce 30+ mins. Wrap each one in 1/3 piece of bacon secured with a toothpick. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cayenne pepper. Bake 375 for about 20 minutes. Best. Thing. Ever.
  5. If it helps he was there in 1964 and had 17 years in service at the time. I do feel young though, but seeing less hair on the top of my head is getting frustrating😕
  6. My grandpa was part of an advisory team attached to an ARVN unit during the Vietnam war. One of the few things he talked about was the food. He had to eat what they did and he talked about a fermented fish sauce they put on everything. It's made by fermenting fish heads in barrels for 2 years. Bizarre foods has an episode that goes into detail. Back in October in Nashville I found what appeared to be an authentic vietnamese restaurant. Ive been wanting to try it forever so I went. I ordered a vietnamese rice noodle dish with shrimp and beef forgetting about the sauce. The smell would have gagged a maggot. My wife ordered the same so it was double whammy. Ended up being really good once I got acclimated.
  7. Generally a 1:1 ratio. Maybe 1.5:1 if making a gravy. It is very fine and more like regular flour where almond flour can be a bit mealy. Usually get mine out of a bulk bin at Kroger for 2.99lb I believe. I know Amazon has it if if none is available locally.
  8. I haven't heard of or made lefse before. But looked it up and I think a cauliflower pizza crust recipe might be an option as a substitute. I have also had good luck using almond flour or tapioca flour as substitutes in recipes.
  9. I love Kimchi. I eat it and sauer kraut for the probiotics. I get my kimchi from and international Asain market. I say try a few different kinds if you can. Could have just been some bad kimchi.
  10. I only mention this because I haven't known anyone that didn't specifically hunt for rabbits having had it. So people probably find it strange. Rabbit is delicious. Served with potatoes and gravy.
  11. I love me some grilled swordfish. First time i had it was a few years ago when i bought some from the freezer at trader joes in indy. First time i went to key west the wife and i went on a fishing trip. She caught a hogfish and a spanish mackerel. Had it fried up at a restaurant. Later went to a place called hogfish bar and grill and had hogfish tacos. That is some good stuff too. Really neat looking fish. Ugly though.
  12. I really like head cheese and authentic mexican tacos made with the head meat.
  13. I had alligator tail when I was in Louisiana. People seem to think that is weird. I liked it though.
  14. Yes and yes. Kenneth bowersox for the tool time question.
  15. Inspired by the new movie first man, which I have yet to see. What Indiana county has produced 3 astronauts? The most famous of the 3 died in the Apollo 1 test run. What was his name? Which one made an appearance on the tv show Tool Time?
  16. William Henry Harrison. Battle of fallen timbers i believe
  17. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=a4B45DHl5UM I dont know how to embed videos but this cheers me up every time I watch it.
  18. From the tv show Coach. Who was the real life coach the character Hayden Fox was modeled after?
  19. https://www.si.com/vault/1985/02/18/622308/back-home-in-indiana Sports Illustrated even did an article on that mentions that team. Pretty good read.
