  1. Any idea about high school or college graduation ceremonies? Or is that still far enough away?
  2. Only 128 confirmed cases so far. So we will see how well it does there soon. Also, since Australia is in the southern hemisphere their seasons are reversed. Will be winter there in a couple months.
  3. The only thing that's changed for me is being forced to buy a little extra TP and not ordering chinese takeout or really eating out in general.
  4. Anybody know what NASCAR plans to do?
  5. As with the test kits...maybe the individual states should grow a set of balls, develope their own kits and, forget about the FDA.
  6. Congress has to vote to change their status but Puerto Rico voting for statehood is taken into consideration. Puerto Ricans dont have to and dont want to pay federal taxes. Only those who work for the US.gov or work in CONUS have to pay in.
  7. I guess it just tells us congress doesnt care. If they helped fund the elections and got of their hands and did their job then it would be decided.
  8. I think it really depends on where they are coming from. Being in more rural southern indiana its business as usual. No toilet paper shortages for me. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/world/coronavirus-ma
  9. I think their problem though is voter turnout. The 2017 referendum only had about 23% voter turnout.
  10. Turn off the propaganda and watch a movie. Enjoy yourself. BTW, it was the Puerto Ricans that screwed up the hurricane response. Maybe they should vote to be a state instead of riding our coattails.
  11. We'll see how it plays out but so far Australia has 128 confirmed cases from what I read. Summer heat wont eradicate it but should slow the spread significantly. It's also possible this virus is an anomaly and not affected by heat but I dont think that's likely.
  12. I say this in a very non political way. If anyone trusts any government officials from an administration in any country they need to be evaluated. Trust no governments EVER!
  13. Not a verified source but saw this on another forum I visit and thought I would share here. Seems like some good info in it. A friend forwarded this information that she received from a hyper-vigilant professor friend who is quarantined in China and teaching her university classes on-line. It contains information about how the sickness presents and some further precautions that I have not seen elsewhere, so I thought I would share. The new Coronavirus may not show sign of infection for many days. How can you know if you are infected? By the time you have fever and/or cough and go to the hospital, the lung is usually 50% fibrosis. Taiwan experts provide a simple self-check that we can do every morning: Take a deep breath and hold it for more than 10 seconds. If you do this successfully without coughing, without discomfort, stiffness or tightness, there is no fibrosis in the lungs; it basically indicates no infection. In critical times, please self-check every morning in an environment with clean air. Serious excellent advice by Japanese doctors treating COVID-19 cases: Everyone should ensure your mouth & throat are moist, never dry. Take a few sips of water every 15 minutes at least. Why? Even if the virus gets into your mouth, drinking water or other liquids will wash them down through your throat and into the stomach. Once there, your stomach acid will kill all the virus. If you don't drink enough water regularly, the virus can enter your windpipe and then the lungs. That's very dangerous. Also: 1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold. 2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose. 3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 degrees C. (About 77 degrees F.) It hates the Sun. 4. If someone sneezes with it, it goes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne. 5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if you come into contact with any metal surface, wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap. 6. On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. normal laundry detergent will kill it. 7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice. 8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but - a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on. 9. You should also gargle as a prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice. 10. Can't emphasize enough - drink plenty of water! THE SYMPTOMS: 1. It will first infect the throat, so you'll have a sore throat lasting 3/4 days 2. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about 5/6 days further. 3. With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing. 4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're drowning. It's imperative you then seek immediate attention.
  14. Well if this is it at least I wont have to go to work anymore.
  15. Something that will be interesting to see if it develops is the constitutional issues with quarantines and travel restrictions.
  16. For perspective, as of now, roughly .000000195% of the estimated US population have confirmed positive. No way to know how many may be infected.
  17. Yes they did. Apparently people dont know the real cure for coronavirus. Pickleing yourself with beer and alcohol. Lol😂
  18. Wife dragged me to Bloomington today for our biweekly grocery trip. Planned on going to the game but decided not to a couple weeks ago. Made a stop at target. There were only a few bottles of bleach left, no rubbing alcohol or peroxide, milk and toilet paper cleaned out, no hand sanitizer there or anywhere else really. OTC medication cleaned out. If you need everyday supplies I would get a couple weeks worth while you can. People are buying this stuff by the cartload. It is so over the top but I need TP too. Cant expect work to pay me for all of my office visits.
  19. I wonder what effect the human trafficking of chinese people to other countries will have on the spreading of the virus.
  20. I try to spin negatives into positives when I can. I think the coronavirus will be good for my waistline. I dont think I will be ordering general tsaos chicken for awhile.
  21. Might need to find a reason to go back sometime. Nick obermeyer is who I hung around with in college. We showed some city boys the joy of snipe hunting among other things. Lol.
  22. @Billingsley99 have you been to carriage on the square? I think I remember this place. Had a college friend from Greensburg and visited his house a few times. Last name was Obermeyer. His dad owned an agricultural type business there.
