  1. ...he could be a dead man walking.
  2. Seriously? This guy has Purdue at #1? lol https://www.news-gazette.com/newsletter/content/sports/illini_basketball/who-has-big-tens-best-home-court-advantage/article_13e6b91a-35d5-5a54-96a4-fc72fd8d7c7f.html
  3. ...good question. I can see Cupps, X, and Galloway and more minutes for Gunn this game.
  4. I like our chances..... Not gonna lie, there is always something special about being the favorite. However, being the underdog always fuels you play harder with the opportunity to upset the favorite.
  5. ....Wow, sounds like someone brought in their clock radio! lol
  6. Well, one good thing, I guess. We won’t have to worry about facing him in the BIGTEN.
  7. Coming from a huge Knight fan and follower since the 70's........we all know what Coach Knight would have done. With Knight, there was black and there was white, no grey area. I'm not saying that was good or bad, we just knew what would happen in any situation like this with Knight.
  8. I was just reading an article on ESPN about UCLA getting beat by 46 pts. to Utah. UCLA has now lost 8 of 9 games and appear to be in some sort of a tail spin. Mick Cronin's roster has a some NBA talent, but he gave an interesting take on the current state of his team. "I think guys got punch-drunk," Cronin said after the loss. "They're good kids. We don't have bad kids, trust me. They listen. They're embarrassed, but that doesn't help. I was concerned with this. They're punch-drunk and you've got to fight your way out of it. I've been there before. It's been a while, but I've been there before." This sort of reminded of me of our team a little after a few of our disappointing losses. I've often wondered if this carries over? We play gun shy and a little nervous. JMO.
  9. Wow… the Bucks are crushing the Celtics by 40 + late in the 3rd.
  10. In all honesty, Leal is the only Senior worthy of being the team captain. Although he doesn't get the playing time of a Captain (he should be playing more than he does), but he definitely has the leadership skills, respect and admiration from coaches, player and fans. MHO....
  11. Is it just me,.....but why is there never anyone around basket to rebound after we attempt a 3 or longer outside shot? We never have an option to put it back up or pass back out?
  12. The only way I could see Dolson and the boosters even briefly entertaining the idea, is if we completely bomb the rest of the season, coaches unable to agree/work together with Woodson, multiple players wanting to transfer and 24' commits backing out. This sounds similar to what was happening with Coach Miller before he was fired. JMO
  13. .....bottom line. This team reminds me of a car when the check engine light comes on. lol
  14. I just want a player, any position with the smarts, heart and motivation to not let your team down. Does anyone really know what goes on behind the scenes? What do all the assistant coaches think of this team, or of Coach Woodson? Is there actual disconnect with the players and coaches or even between players? I don't know. I mean, TJD and JHS both credited Coach Woodson for his influence and player development on them. If there is ongoing negativity, disagreement or disconnect from just one of the above, then that is why we aren't getting better right now. JMO
  15. IUFLA,.... you and I always appear to be on the same page, viewing things very similarly. I'm purposely leaving Coach Woodson out of this equation/discussion because my post is directed specifically towards the entire IU roster. This about the same exact time last season that TJD said "enough is enough", (I believe, had a players only meeting), got tougher, became a more vocal leader, took the team on his back and the entire team responded. Do we have anyone that can step up and make an impact even half way close to what TJD did? We desperately need something from someone who is well respect and has great leadership qualities. This season is definitely not over, but something has to change from the player performance aspect. I really think a players only team meeting needs to happen to help plug the hole in this ship.... The thing is,....is there A player, ANY current player on the bench who cares enough about the state of this program to want to right this ship and make a change? This is what we desperately need and fast. I've enjoyed teaching HS for 29 years and loved coaching for 20. Sometimes, students/players are just tired of listening to you at times. They also need motivation and direction from their peers. It starts with well respected, successful and motivated students/players who won't accept failure. JMHO
  16. IMO......The header about IU in the today's Indy Star says it all..... Woodson can't fix IU mess alone. His seniors need to lead the way
  17. IMO and the thing that stands out the most right now is… We are in desperate need of consistent player leadership from guys like XJ. The Ohio St. performance was what XJ can do and we should be seeing on a consistent basis. I’m not saying he hasn’t, but today seemed unimpressive, selfish, stale, and rudder-less.
  18. ...out 2 weeks and then re-evaluated. It could have been a lot worse!
  19. I hated seeing Penix so uncomfortable in he pocket last night. It brought back bad memories when IU's O-line couldn't keep him safe. I was surprised he didn't scramble and use his feet more.
  20. This game could be a huge one for IU move forward. Last year, around this point of our BIGTEN schedule, we lost 3 games in a row….. 1/5/23 - @ Iowa 89-91 1/8/23 - Northwestern 83-84 1/11/23 - @ Penn St. 66-85 Not only were the fans questioning IU’s toughness, but TJD was getting called out too. Trayce had enough. I know we don’t have the same players, but we went on to finish the regular BIGTEN, 11-4. We are in a very similar situation right now. We’ve been lacking team toughness as well as a “rudder”. For starter, XJ’s play was the much needed missing “rudder” that we desperately needed last night. In addition we’ve got to have a much stronger and tougher Ware at the post down the stretch. If we can get consistent production from Gunn’s defense and shooting it will be a welcome addition to our lacking guard play. I know he’s only a freshman, but MM is a big key to our success down the stretch. Go IU!
  21. Here’s a tough one,…..lol …..Last night, my son in law and I were at Assembly Hall enjoying the IU game. In addition, we were trying to keep up with the Colts and Pacers as well as our HS girls/boys double header bb games, all during timeouts and play stoppages. To make things worse, the WiFi inside Assembly Hall was crappy at times and inconsistent the most of the game. 😳😂😅😅
  22. I just left the IU game too!!! Good game down the stretch…
  23. …..Shew! Just got back from watching Jennings County upset #4 Brownstown Central. Jack Benter was held to 21 pts. tonight, ( I know, he was supposed to be a little gimpy and possibly not play) but he looked pretty good. Carter Kent lead all scores with 30. We came back from 19 down in the 3rd quarter and won by 8. What a great game and atmosphere!
