  1. It will be interesting reading the responses of current IU players about this hire. How many will now jump into the portal, decide to stay or withdraw and want to come back (if Coach Cignetti wants them back)...??
  2. lol…. You can tell he colors his hair, just like Coach Woodson colors his eyebrows and goatee! lol …..sorry, my wife’s a hairstylist. lol
  3. Several posters on the Michigan board seem to think Hart is gone and will be at IU.....
  4. ….has one foot in it’s football program. This NIL boost tells everyone the IU is serious about this hire and about the program.
  5. If there are actually legs to this…. Gruden has to be chomping at the bit to be coaching again, especially the chance to compete in the BIGTEN.
  6. Gruden would definitely be our “Prime Time” like hire.
  7. Look at the date when those were posted.....Candles was 10 months ago and Lewis' was 2 years ago
  8. This is why Dolson has to get this hire right. It could be his best decision yet. He knows he's behind many other schools as far as facilities and salaries. If he can actually make a great hire and somehow right this ship, why can't IU have the sustained success of other schools. I'm not talking about the Ohio St.'s or Michigans, but teams who regularly attend bowls and are often ranked in the top 25. There's zero reason why we can't be one of those teams. It all starts with Dolson, Indiana University and the boosters. We HAVE to spend some money on this coach. I really think that is one of their main objectives. JMO
  9. ....I wouldn't say rock bottom. I would argue the BIGTEN is the best conference in the nation. I would say that given the right amount of money, most coaches would love to be in the BIGTEN. I want one who's gonna come in and make some noise right away.
  10. I have thought all along that Dolson and some other boosters really want ARE,.....BUT it's contingent on building an impressive staff of assistants to surround him. I also think they definitely want Frye in the fold and would be a big piece of the puzzle to compliment ARE. JMO. I checked back in with my old IU room mate who's worked in IU athletics for years. He still says his source thinks it's ARE..... Just passing along what's been shared with me. We will know soon enough how true the rumors are.
  11. I believe Chris007 on BTB also said that he wouldn’t be surprised to have a new coach by the end of the week.
  12. Scott has GOT TO get this hire right, (at least move the needle)... I can't imagine the large amount of money the donors/boosters paid to help cover CTA's contract, was offered without some good interest from appealing coaches.
  13. .....players leaving and entering the transfer portal is only going to get bigger, the longer it takes to find a head coach. I can imagine whoever the coach is, some of those players may want to transfer here, IF the new coach still wants them....
  14. .....maybe it could be that ARE is one of their top 2 or 3 choices so far.... and they are wondering what a coaching staff would/could look like. JMO
  15. The new coach will know what kind of players he wants. We naturally want him to want our guys because of our connections with them. However, the new coach most likely will have players want to transfer to IU with him as well. That usually happens. He will most likely try to re-recruit his ‘24 commitments….. This will be a new uphill battle at IU and I really hope that Dolson and the boosters can pull in someone to make splash from day one. A mediocre hire, in my opinion, is unacceptable….
  16. For all we know, maybe ARE’s dream was to someday come home and coach IU.
  17. Hilarious Parakeet!! Yes at IU. I’m 55 and those days at long gone….lol
  18. Not only is he a leader, he is a tremendous man with great character too.
  19. I had a few earlier lol…. Man, those were some crazy times.
  20. I would love ARE, but who knows how solid his source is in athletics…. One of my fondest and crazy memories when we were roommates (1990-92 at Woodbridge Apartments)… We had a huge party and he invited several IU players …I had a Foosball table and they were all play us. It was Matt Nover, Pat Knight, Pat Graham and Brian Evans. Pat Graham was on my balcony throwing wood of our deck (we had a fireplace) and people were complaining and called the cops. Matt Nover was absolutely hammered and threw up all over my bathroom floor and forgot his wallet. He came back the next day to get it…lol!!
