  1. You must have gone to East Middle School. That's where all the townie's and most of the rich kids went. I first went to Green Township Elementary for two years, then moved to town and went to Smith Elementary, moved again and ended up going to West Middle School. I lived about 5 miles from the Paragon Speedway. We could always here the roar of the cars on a Friday and Saturday night.....šŸ˜† I am ashamed to say that I have called people back then Bucktowners a time or two....
  2. No I didn't....I know the place well. When I was a kid, that place in Martinsville scared me.... I moved to Paragon in the 6th grade and hated the image that people got from that town. I lived out in the country. I always said, " I live in Paragon, but not in town, the country." Sounds shallow, I know....I was a kid in the 80's.
  3. This is how I'm feeling about the state of this thread.....lol šŸ¤” šŸ¤ŖšŸ¤£šŸ¤£
  4. I'm going to respectfully disagree....lol To any of us whole went to high school in 80's this is by far one of the top 5 movies! I listened to and loved (still do), 80's alternative music and the "Breakfast Club" sort of personifies a time capsule to those fond 80's memories. Man, I love that movie.. Give me The Fixx, Psychedelic Furs, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, etc.....all day!
  5. It's just that simple.....We've needed shooters, desperately for years. Those guys had impressive "shooter's" resume's. Sometimes it takes just one game when a player finally "lives up to his billing". Coach Woodson was counting on one or both to the entire year.....The only other guy I would have liked to have seen a little more in those 3 pt shooting situations was Leal.
  6. Well that's good to hear..... Yes, it was nice to actually talk in person for once...
  7. Wow, two of my friends scrapping it out....lol I think all three of us need to actually get together and have a beer!
  8. With X and his friends gaining in the rocket car,.... I still put my money on Speedy Gonzalez!....lol
  9. Woodson Prototypes?ā€¦.. You should be talking about Painter.
  10. Little ā€œ5ā€ā€¦ā€¦The Devilā€™s playground!šŸ˜ˆšŸ¤”šŸ˜³šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
  11. Yes, but there is ZERO reason to have XJ's "off-season" issues to be put "on blast" separately for the whole world to see. It just draws too much negative attention.....JMO
  12. Nope.... Still, I never once liked Duke....the only think I would say was that I was always envious of the players they constantly got and their winning record. Coach K was an assistant to Coach Knight at Army...that's the only thing positive I can muster....lol
  13. Good post!..... Ultimately, we all want our children to respect and appreciate all we do for them because we love them. When our kids mess up or do the extreme, we most likely become angry, disappointed or hurt. I'm sure CMW is feeling the same way. As an IU fanbase, we become deeply invested in players and when careless or selfish things happen we often feel the same way.
  14. Absolutely....That is why I posted this. I'm only going off of what's been public knowledge on this matter, however.... The dad in me says X will have to deal with some strict repercussions, but not excused from the team. Coach Woodson will go to bat for any of his players, good or bad, unfortunately this will take more that just his voice or opinion.
  15. ....Interesting post I found on a rival IU message board..... "Some people who were there are saying another car with a gun was at a stoplight next to X's car, there were some words exchanged or something like that. I'm not sure this is solely a Mike Woodson decision,....this might be a Scott Dolson, President Whitten, and Woodson decision. We've had some football players make some really bad decisions lately, beating up girlfriend, having pot in the car, and running from the police, none of them were dismissed."
  16. Well knowing how CMW suspended those five players one game for curfew violations (and other undisclosed issues), should tell you he means business. We will seeā€¦.
  17. Kinda funny thoughā€¦.That night, when I saw a guy carrying a keg, I thought to myself, ā€œ What good is that keg without it being tapped and a pump?ā€ šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£
  18. Yep, true story. The small fish surrounding the large naked lady in the center were all removed and/or stolen, but eventually returned. Looking back at those photos, makes your appreciate having a cell phone now days. There were no cellphones or digital cameras in those daysā€¦.šŸ¤“
  19. ā€¦..any of you guys (old fellers) who were lucky enough to be on campus in Bloomington, that monumental night in 1987 would have witnessed pure pandemonium!!!! Not only were students climbing in and all over the Showalter Fountain, but the fish were all removed too! They were climbing up on the light poles, tree and anything they could pile up on. After that, we all ā€œtookā€ Kirkwood!šŸ¤£ Again, every light pole had a student at the top, a sofa was ablaze in the middle of Kirkwood and a Chevy El Camino was pushed over on itā€™s side in the street across from Nickā€™sā€¦. Here are a few picks of that historic night at the Showalter Fountain. I couldnā€™t find any from Kirkwoodā€¦ Absolutely NUTS!!! I was right in this mess! I literally looked through all of these pics to see if I was actually in one!!!šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
  20. Not meā€¦..I was one of those guys trying to figure out how I could get up on one those light polesā€¦.šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£
  21. I was 19, a freshman at IU. I was watching it with my, then girlfriend, in the lobby at Reed. There were tons of students down there watching that game. As soon as Smartā€™s shot went down, the entire place went nuts and we started gang rushing the doors for Showalter Fountain and then on to Kirkwood! It was absolutely insane!!!!
  22. You know, Iā€™m glad that CMW is taking a vacationā€¦.Coach Knight took hunting and fishing trips during the year. Everyone needs a reboot and a refresher. CMW is still in touch and in the knowā€¦..
