Did you ever think that the play calling was intended to be a bit vanilla for Penix's sake. I know Coach said he was 100% ready, but was he 100% mentally? I'm sure the coaching staff caught on right away that Penix was off from the get go. I'm not making excuses, but really,.....Wasn't our offense a it boring and plain last Sat.? If eit got any more complex with Penix's poor start, it would have snowballed. Besides......Iowa played two deep safeties almost the entire game with constant pressure on the the QB.

Coach Allen will leave no stone unturned in his preparation for next week. You can bet Coach will evaluate every single player who played or sat as well as those who didn’t make the trip and the entire coaching staff, starting with himself. I wouldn’t be surprised if Coach takes a longer, harder look at Donavan McCulley as well as Tuttle. Don’t get me wrong, Penix is our starter…..and CTA has faith in him, but he’s gonna be prepared if Penix crashes and burns again. I hope and pray, that’s the last we see a performance like that.

Just listened to the post game show with Fish and Coach was very disappointed and dejected. He said he never expecting the team including Penix to play that way. Said they prepared well and Penix looked good all preseason. He also mentioned play calling from his coaches….He also took blame for the outcome as the head coach.

Coach OBVIOUSLY looked very, very disappointed on the sideline…. Many reasons to be. There, towards the end of the game….It looked like Coach was ripping one of the coaches as he was yelling into his headset mic. Did anyone else see that?

Right?!…..You would almost think they were calling for Coach Allen’s job. I can’t remember a time where we have ever played Iowa well…..

Wouldn't want to wish that on anyone......

This is exactly the kind of crap from opposing fans that I can't stand! mill1634 #22 Hawks fan here in peace. Should be a good game. Just a note, Iowa defense hasn't given up more than 25 points in 21 straight games.

Kinda funny.......I was looking over on Rivals, HawkeyeReport football message board and their hottest topic is the upcoming game versus Iowa St. There are 8 pages about that game. The two IU/Iowa pregame threads have been pushed to the bottom with only 4 and 5 pages. I hope they're over looking us........cause we aren't them! GO IU!
