  1. This isn't where you want to be almost halfway through year 3.
  2. NET isn't gonna matter at this point. This team is going to dig too deep a hole to get out of.
  3. I expected to lose tonight as I said in the pre-game thread but man this entire program has just been pretty flipping disappointing for the majority of 25 years now. Indiana athletics, the ones that people are usually interested in watching, are just not up to par.
  4. The likelihood of that happening is between slim and none.
  5. I am losing faith that this potential we have is ever going to become kinetic. The way we have played to date is going to have us in the bottom half of a down BIG this year.
  6. There is absolutely room for growth particular if Johnson comes back and plays a certain way. I hope he is back and the team makes me look foolish for my pessimistic feelings but I haven't seen "it" yet this year and even with a Johnson return I am not expecting him to be really up to speed for several games. Would love to be proven wwrong. Woodson has pulled a rabbit out of a hat on a couple of occasions in his time here, I am hoping to see it happen again because right now, even at 10-3, I have concerns.
  7. Let me know if it works. I am pessimistic about the game right now (I think we are going to lose) but I still usually end up being irritated during the process. Maybe if you figure out the path to that enlightenment you can share it with me? Lol
  8. I didn't get a chance to watch this one because I am not paying for BTN+, but it seems like we are still saying the same thing at the end of December that we were saying at the beginning of the season. The get everyone healthy thing is out of their hands but all the other stuff still being question marks right now should be concerning. I think the only performance we have put together where you could say that we looked like a team that should be in the tournament wad the loss to Kansas (I am basing this on the box score for last night as I couldn't watch). All the easy ones are done now.

  10. I know this isn't the super popular opinion but I think there are a bunch more guys who could stand to stay a few more years in college to grow their game like Trayce did. Yeah, there are some dudes ready to go from jump but I think the NBA draft has been littered with guys who left too early and were out of the league pretty quick. With NIL, staying in school and developing with actual in game time might become more of a thing. Having a 23 year old TJD ready to go is better than a ton of the 19 and 20 year olds that were drafted above him.
  11. I have a confession to make...we got up about 20 and it was at some point after the under 8 timeout but I conked out during the game and didn't wake back up until 1:30... That being said, I liked our 3 point shooting in the game. I don't think we will always shoot that well but it gives other teams something to think about if we are more aggressive with that shot (and have the right people taking it).
  12. Yeah, I think it is like 30% coach and 70% players. They have to have that self drive and the coach is there to push for that extra.
  13. To me for stuff like that it is the players.
  14. I like the fairly quick turn around on this one. Hopefully the coaches are really challenging the players today: "You come with that BS energy tomorrow, you will be an assistant coach. I expect everyone that hits that floor to bring it like they are playing in a championship game."
  15. He would have played usher for a little old lady on the other side of the court....
  16. Enh, getting emotional during the games is part of what makes people fanatics. To your in the heat of the moment point, no, we don't need to fire Woodson. What we probably need to come to grips with is that he is hopefully just a bridge. We are doing some things as a school that appears to be having us modernize the program. Woodson is helping that process off the court (if not completely on it). This program was an absolute dumpster fire when he took over. We have been more bad then good for over 20 years now. We need Woodson to get and keep us at a point where we are mostly a tournament team. He needs to make the program look like a good buy for the next guy in 3 to 5 years. We have now done the "Bob Knight Guy" hire. Dolson has proved me a bit wrong in how he has handled some stuff with both basketball and football. I think we just need to position ourselves to show that A)We have the resources and B)we have the institutional support to make a coach a winner here. I am hoping we can squeak into the tournament this year (going to be an uphill climb IMO) and then we see the staff actually go out and retool the team like they said they were going to do this year. Get a few deeper runs in the NCAA towards the end of the Woodson tenure and then have him hand over a better program to the next guy than he was left. The next hire is more likely to be the "guy" if we can do that.
  17. He has been a bit better than Miller (2 NCAA appearances in 2 tries as opposed to going 0 for 5) but they both have systems that appear a bit outdated for modern basketball and teams with a tendency to not play up to the sum of their parts on a consistent basis. They also both have/had recruiting issues where the loss of a player at a key spot really leaves them behind the 8 ball because of lack of quality depth and/or development. Woodson has been bringing in better players overall and I think that has been the major difference. Miller's main issue was failure to land players. Woodson is landing players but he hasn't done a good job of constructing a winning team (IMO). I think the most maddening part of this year is that we have an open scholarship and even me, as someone who hasn't coached and doesn't have the pedigree of our staff and blah, blah, blah could see that we needed another shooting guard. Failure to land another combo guard or shooting guard that could get his own shot up is a big miss, particularly with 2 of our recruited guards sitting out all year or a major portion of the year. That was a big miss by the staff.
  18. We won. Anthony Walker should be a key player off ghe bench. That is all I have nice to say.
  19. Hell no. Doubt I ever will to be honest. No offense to the kids but I fundamentally don't agree with it.
  20. If I donated to NIL this year I would want my money back.
  21. If we lose this game the season is basically over barring an almost perfect Big Ten performance.
  22. You thought we would be down double digits at half? Really? Sorry, I don't believe that at all. I think you may have thought we would have a bit of a hangover but I seriously doubt you would have predicted this. In fact, I think anybody who predicted us being 11 point dogs at half in this game the past few days would have been labeled a negative hater.
  23. We might go on to win this game but anybody entertaining tournament with the way we have started the year is kidding themselves. We are outside looking in unless something drastic changes quick.
  24. Yessssss. Thank you. Players today are so flipping lazy when they set that screen. It is a moving screen or foul on almost every play and it is rarely called.
