  1. I didn't see Parker's 4th, but the 1st was questionable and the 2nd and 3rd were absolutely awful calls. No one else on the floor is getting that sort of thing called on them.
  2. If getting guys on campus won games, you would have needed a new username years ago.
  3. I would argue a better summation of the past 20 months would be too many people refusing to take simple measures to protect themselves and others, and as a result more than 800,000 Americans and millions worldwide have died. Also not a shot at anyone.
  4. I think you're right, but my random internet sources on South Africa tell me that large swaths of people there wouldn't go to a hospital even if they were about to die. They also tell me that overall death is up in SA, though it's unclear exactly how much. So, we will have to see what happens in a more westernized country before we can really know.
  5. He does not do those things at an NBA level. TJD at least has some NBA level skills. I don't think his overall game translates well, but he at least has some skills that would interest an NBA team. Race does not.
  6. Brunk didn't even count against the scholarship limit, so I can't imagine he was forced out.
  7. Has any IU player in the past 10 years ever made a step back jumper? They seem to like shooting them, though.
  8. I feel slightly bad about it, but I smile each time Franklin has a bad game. I'm rooting for Al and Hunter, don't care one way or the other about Brunk.
  9. No doubt. I think the bottom half of the conference is considerably worse than 2/3 years ago when we were so deep. The top of the conference is still quite good, though. I think Michigan probably brought in enough to replace their losses. Wisconsin and Illinois did not.
  10. A rule that applies differently based on whether you are "approximately" 3 feet outside the lane - what could possibly go wrong? The foul on the Nevada kid was really remarkable. Both players, including the one who was just fouled, looked at the ref with absolutely no idea why a whistle was just blown. And that's what they pick to exemplify things being done properly. If someone who has spent his entire life playing organized basketball just got fouled without knowing it, you need to rethink that rule.
  11. Can someone remind me how Big Ten + works. If you subscribe, you can see every IU game, regardless of where it was originally aired, but only the day after - is that right?
  12. I don't know a whole lot about these guys, but do they really have the level of success that people could be jealous of?
  13. I figured you would come out of the woodwork for this conversation. If you look back at the results from last year - obviously the tournament, but there were signs before that - I think the conference as a whole was overrated. So, your success from last year isn't quite as impressive as some make it out to be, and therefore returning the guys from that team isn't as big of a deal as some make it out to be. I'm not suggesting you have a bad team, but I would drop them down 10 spots in the polls.
  14. I didn't grow up an IU fan, so I don't have the ingrained Purdue hatred that a lot of people here have, but I still think they're overrated. I will be surprised if they compete for the BIG title. I think OSU and Michigan will be at the top. By tournament time MSU and IU will be right there with them, but both of us will lose a few winnable games early in the conference, so we won't have a shot at the regular season crown. I agree with you on Illinois - I'd say they're a bubble team. They'll make it, but not by that much. Northwestern is more of a true bubble team and might not make it.
  15. I have no information, other than what I read here, but this is the only thing that makes any sense. Even if half of our team had broken legs, why not let the other half and a bunch of walkons play? The only thing that makes any sense is that we didn't want to risk exposing the other team.
  16. I came into the year with low expectations for the football team, but we do need to acknowledge that every team we've lost to has spent significant time in the top 10. We have a killer schedule, too soon to get down on Allen.
  17. I'm sure they are going to tell people that he drives their car, and they'll have to use his name to do that. This is exactly what should be happening. I hope we have car dealerships that want to do the same.
  18. It's entirely possible that the dealership makes out in this deal, but that's not why they are doing it. They are trying to help the team by giving cool stuff to players. I'm sure there are tax implications, if nothing else, he is taking in the equivalent of a free lease. But, I'm sure the dealership, or some other booster, can just cover that.
  19. I don't see us going 11 deep. Seems to me that if Leal wants playing time, he is going to either have to take it from Kopp or Stewart. If Galloway wants it, he is going to have to shoot.
  20. I won't pretend to know how many years a guy like Race wants to stay in college, but IU brings in a lot more money than some 2nd tier European league, so I would guess the NIL will cause IU players to make more than those guys. It's one thing to leave a year of eligibility on the table to go start making money (basketball or otherwise), but to do so and take a pay cut makes a lot less sense. But, that is contingent on IU boosters being proactive in a way that I have no evidence of them doing. I would love to be wrong, but Kopp seems a long way from declaring for the draft.
  21. Where does the talk of Kopp and Race leaving after this year come from? They're starters that have virtually no chance of playing in the league. They can probably go to Europe if they choose, but I doubt they would make the high paying leagues. It very much seems like they will be with us for 2 more years.
