He still might have time but get him out before the Jets go 0-16. The seeing ghosts quote from his Monday night game last year puts some worry in me.

It doesn't bother me at all. That said I wouldn't give up more than a 5th for him at this point and someone will give more than that and I don't think Ballard will trade for him this season unless they trade Jacoby which I don't see happening.

yes I agree and I would take him.  Better than the idea of Darnold IMO. I think the Jets have ruined that man

I don't think he's ruined. He has a bad o line and limited weapons. Get him with a good system and a better head coach and who knows but it has to be at the deadline this year or next year. He stays in a bad situation much longer and I'll agree with you.

Agree that it's overblown, but not sure who is pushing it. Could be his agent like you said, could be the Pacers to try and gain leverage on other candidates in negotiations, could be something else. Never know what the hidden agendas are or who they're coming from IMO

I've heard on a couple of Pacers podcasts that some of those guys are hearing that there is a lot of smoke and mirrors with the Pacers gig. The reason I don't think it's the Pacers with Finch is because he was called the favorite before the Pacers ever finished their zoom interviews with Craig and Quinn who were thought to be serious contenders coming from Miami. That just makes no sense for the Pacers to leak that out imo.

I think the whole narrative that Finch is the "favorite" is over blown and probably been pushed out by his agent and not the Pacers especially since they aren't even starting their in person interviews until this week.

If the Pacers hire Finch, it makes me question somethings. Since he was an assistant for both the Rockets and Pelicans and both have coaching openings was he considered? If not why? What does that say? Maybe nothing  maybe something

He’s had talks with the Pelican’s and David Griffin. I think they are big name hunting with their hire though.

What are the odds that Billups could be the dark horse for the Pacers after all? It seems his Clippers associate coach position is pending on if the Pacers actually hire him....

I don’t think he’s a dark horse if he is one of the 3 finalists as J Michael believes.

Of those guys which one was not camping around the 3 pt line. What I saw was basically a 5 out Harden dribble the air out of it drive and if help comes early kick out for 3. If not draw the foul or throw up bad shot.

This year was an exception after the Capella trade. I would look at what he did with Stoudemire in Phoenix as what he would do with Sabonis.

I feel that a player like Sabonis will not strive in that offense. I think it woukd be great for Myles. I just dont see the overall shooting needed to spread the floor. Its a layup or 3 with Dantoni which is great offense if.you can force the defense to play the whole half court. I don't see Brogdon doing well for some reason. Just my take

That’s actually not true on the centers. Sabonis is actually a better fit because he doesn’t shoot the 3. D’Antoni centers don’t shoot 3’s. They are typically used in pick and rolls and cuts to the basket with shooters and playmakers around them.

Before Vic's injury Pritchard was looking like a genius, highly regarded, and the Pacers were trajecting very nicely.

Each of us are entitled to our opinion and mine is I wouldn't want KAT on my team unless he's the 3rd or 4th option.

I never said that I did or didn’t. I was referring to the statement on Pritchard to which no one knows the answer to.

Months back someone mentioned KAT as a pacer trade option.  Thank God Pritchard is smarter than that idea.  KAT won't win anything until he is like the Dwight Howard of a Lebron team.

How do you know KP is smarter than that? The Pacers likely aren’t in a spot to make a deal for him but who says that they wouldn’t if he could.

Someone said that former Pelicans assistant Chris Finch might be the front runner for the Pacers job.  I have not heard of him and hove no idea what is qualifications are so I couldn't say what I htink of this if it happens.

He is known for being a creative offensive mind and was part of using Jokic as a focal point of the Nuggets offense in his 2nd season in the league.

To each his own, but first, crap, even second round money can be life changing money. Not too many pass that up.

Yes, it can be. He's not projected to go in the first 3 rounds. That said can his draft stock go up? Of course but it might not if there are already rumors he won't sign. That happens every year were guys fall in the draft or don't get picked at all because they are set on going to school. Look at Jack Leiter at Vanderbilt as an example of that.

Saw a rumor out there about VO going to the Knicks.

Knicks get Pacers get Handle, Smith Jr and 2021 and 2023 first round picks that the Knicks got from the Mavs.

To me it would have involve the Knicks first round pick this year which I think is 8th this year.

This will all be dependent on what kind of players fit the new coaches style. I think there will be a few teams lining up to make a trade for Vic and Turner this offseason because the free agent class isn't great.

    Ainge was a 3rd baseman.

I know but the preparation is a little different today than it was back then. Not to mention do you think a college baseball coach would want a kid to miss 2 months of the season because the basketball team made the NCAA tournament. That's the problem. College baseball starts in February. Not to mention you miss a ton of practice time trying to play basketball. It's much more possible if you are a bullpen pitcher than a position player.

    Danny Ainge says hello.

I know Ainge played professional baseball and basketball. Garrett played minor league baseball and college basketball. Playing minor league baseball and college basketball would almost be easier than college baseball and college basketball based on the way the seasons line up. It's hard to do especially for a position player and that's my point with Montgomery.

I'd put that as being very unlikely. The only people I could see thinking that are locals at Southridge that don't understand the overlap issue. I can see why Tracy Smith, Michael Earley, and Bobby Hurley tried it. I could see a pitcher try and pull it off but a SS is a whole different story.

The Clips struggled to beat Dallas who lost KP and didn't have Powell. Eventually the Mavs just did not have enough fater losing KP.   I think the Clips thought they were going to walk through this thing.  I don't like the Lakers but I think they were going to roll the Heat injuries or no injuries. Rondo's return has energized their defense especially in the back court. Adebayo is a super star on the rise but Laker are deep.  AD, Lebron, Howard and even McGee. The lakers can throw more at him than entire East opponents did.   The Lakers best backcourt defender opted out in Avery Bradley. IMO, Miami benefitted just as much in the playoffs with breaks as the Lakers.

I hope the Pacers hire Billups. The current team really didn't play together much and it seems there is a lack of cohesion off the court.  Nate fired, VO and Turner rumors.  Low ball offers. Sabonis out.  Billups seems to maybe bring a sense of calm.  I think he can be similar to the Suns coach and at least get everyone on the same page.  If I'm the Pacers, I don't make big player moves until the trade deadline.

Low ball offers??? Sabonis out (hurt)? The rumors around indy are that the cohesion problem is guys on the team having problems with Vic having one foot out the door. That's why they can't wait until the trade deadline to trade him like some people suggest the Pacers should do.
