  1. Hearing some interesting info that Pacers had in mind that they wsnted and did not think he would be available. So the extension came and with the uncertainty of next year Nate was the option. Now I'm Hearing said coach is available. Who that is I don't know. So based on this it seems to me the coach they want is either gong to get fired or he has an expiring contract and might not be retained or he chooses to leave his current team. That doesn't sound like a Van Gundy or Atkinson because those guys were on the market when Nate got the extension. This leads me to think they want D'Antoni, Popovich, or Brett Brown. I could also see a situation were D'Antoni gets the head job and he brings in a guy like Atkinson to be the associate head coach who he has coached with in the past if Atkinson doesn't get another job.
  2. I’m not surprised they haven’t offered yet. They waited until during the junior year to offer for Phinisee, Leal, and Galloway. I’d expect one to come in the next few months.
  3. He’s really good. His mechanics are little more violent than I personally like but some guys are able to get away with it.
  4. I don’t know him personally. I’ve coached against New Castle the last 2 years and I’m now at a new school but it’s in their conference. He doesn’t play basketball that I know of and I coach basketball too. I was curious to see him this spring but that didn’t happen unfortunately.
  5. He’s shot up the rankings as his fastball has increased by about 8-10 mph since last year.
  6. Except for the fact that Watson did an interview that can be found online from when he was doing the draft process and he said he met with the Bears so he either lied then or now. Not that it really matters that much.
  7. Maybe but almost every talent evaluator had him as a first rounder. The problem is he hasn’t been developed and wasn’t put in a place to succeed imo. Is some of that on him? Of course it is but not all of it.
  8. That’s why I said what I did. It can be. You should go back and look at the TO’s Manning and Brees had early on. They grew out of it. As for the time put in there are plenty of guys that need to learn that part but it helps if a veteran is in place. That’s why Eason behind Rivers and Brissett makes sense time will tell, Mahomes behind Smith, Rodgers behind Favre even thought Favre wasn’t a great mentor and I could go on and on. Trubisky wasn’t a day one starter and the Bears didn’t do him any favors imo.
  9. He’s a decent athlete, he’s got a strong arm, and he’s got decent size. He was thrown out to the wolves to soon and he’s still struggling because of it. I must say I’m not a bears fan so I don’t feel to strongly on this one.
  10. Trubisky has the tools. That said he should have never been a starter his rookie year. They should’ve had a veteran stop gap in place for him to learn from and they didn’t. Glennon wasn’t anything more than a back up and didn’t benefit Trubisky at all. I tend to think Pogano was more at fault for Luck’s injuries than Grigson.
  11. Mitchell Trubisky is going to get a lesson in how to be a professional quarterback from Nick Foles.
  12. Next year seems to potentially be an extremely deep OT class which could also be great for the Colts.
  13. So here’s the deal with the Colts at quarterback. Eason will be at best a franchise quarterback if he reaches his potential. If he doesn’t maybe he can be a long term backup. Next years QB class could be really good if they decide to get a first round QB to be the face of the franchise if they don’t like the way Eason is developing. The 2021 class has Lawrence, Fields, Costello, Purdy, Trask, Newman, and Lance could all be first round candidates. Lance from North Dakota could be the prospect that shoots up boards into the top 3 prospects with Lawrence and Fields. So we’ll see what they do but they’ll have options.
  14. Here is an article from 2013 that talks about it. https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/1624948-breaking-down-why-the-two-tight-end-offense-is-the-best-in-the-nfl.amp.html
  15. I agree. I don’t see Ballard taking him if there are real concerns. I think he could be a good player to develop and even if not as a starter he could be a solid backup.
  16. Positions in the 4th round could see the Colts drafting include TE, OL, WR, CB, or and Edge rusher.
  17. I’m not surprised at all despite Wingo and the other guys on ESPN pushing for them to get picked. Eason doesn’t work hard and has an attitude and from is a good 5th rounder.
  18. I’m good with it though. Colts need playmakers and they’ve drafted two tonight. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ballard somehow acquired another pick or two before the draft is over.
  19. Picks 44 (2nd rd) and 160 (5th rd).
  20. I hope they trade down. That said I want a WR and if they go OL I like the guys from Louisiana and LSU because they are big and have some nasty to them. WR I like Pittman, Claypool, Mims, and Higgins. I also wouldn’t mind Chinn as a safety because I think he would be great for covering up TE’s with his size and speed.
  21. I would especially with all the options still on the board. Trade down 3 or 4 spots. Still get a good player. Then depending on the board they could do it again at 44 depending on who is picked and if their are runs at any positions.
  22. It’s do bad the Colts don’t have about 3 or 4 second round picks this year. There are way to many guys that I want them to draft.
  23. I do find it funny that the Packers have had first ballot hall of fame level QB play for 30 years and only one 2 championships because they do a bad job of putting weapons around them and that seems to continue. Granted the WR position has depth in this draft.
