I liked the pick of Leaf at the time of the draft because I liked him at UCLA. He wasn't overly athletic but he could shoot the 3. He just plain did not develop into what the Pacers were hoping. They'd been looking for a stretch 4 for years. I think he was partially a product of playing with Lonzo Ball but McMillan also did not help him either. That said OG/John Collins should've been the pick.

Jay Wright has been an assistant with team USA and has a good relationship with Popovich. I Know he said he's retiring and becoming the assistant president or whatever but so did Urban Meyer when he stepped down at OSU prior to joining the Jaguars. Yes, Wright is not Meyer but you never know what will happen when a team comes knocking on your door.

Doc has been mentioned with the Lakers too fwiw.

The Big East is going to be tough next year but things are lining up for Butler to be much improved in the conference with the hiring of Matta and now Jay Wright retiring.

Unless Holtmann wins more next year that ain't happening because he will likely be on a very hot seat at OSU or on the way out. UK would have to strike out on several other coaches before they go that route. Unless of course he wins big in the tournament.

It does not matter who is better on April 15th. The question will be is who is better in October and November and has JG progressed to where he can play the 3 like he wants. That is the question and that is if JG is even back at IU.

Simas Lukosius from Butler pulled his name out of the transfer portal yesterday and announced he was staying at Butler. This was always the most likely scenario even with IU showing interest. It was a done deal as soon as Matta announced he was keeping Ragland as an assistant.

I really like the idea of adding Dennis. He has a burst that IU hasn’t had in a long time. Not tom mention he is a really good defender.

I don’t see that being it. IU will likely lose a guy. What position will that guy be idk and neither does the staff. It could be TJD, Race, JG, or someone else. They have an open scholarship at the moment. Take Dennis now and figure out what to do if Reneau decides to commit. If he goes somewhere else there’s nothing to worry about.

I was not surprised by the Indiana State offer. I knew they were at one of his games watching him and at least one other kid that I know quite well who Benter plays with on GPP.

Matta still has a spot open. He has talked to Fife but he had certain things he was focused on filling first. Areas that he knows are not his strong suite like coaching bigs for example. That is why he targeted Pegues. I do not know if he is going to keep Ragland as assistant #3 or someone else. That is TBD. Fife is unlikely but not out of the question.

Thad Matta has added former Louisville assistant and interim coach Mike Pegues to his staff at Butler.

Peegs put it back up as one of the kids over there took it down for now reason. There mods jump the gun on stuff sometimes and it’s rather ridiculous.

There was a thread on Peegs about this and it got taken down by one of the mods. Speculation that IU didn’t want it out there but it’s a little late for that.

He met with Kenya Hunter yesterday. I still doubt IU is legitimately recruiting him.

I don’t know if I buy this but here’s a rumor on Twitter tonight.

Rabby said that no school is actively recruiting him. Wouldn’t say why.
