  1. They’ve done a good job so far in the draft. They also will be acquiring some more prospects in a couple weeks. They’ll have a top 5 farm system after the draft and deadline.
  2. They won’t even look at signing a center until they trade 1 or 2.
  3. I’ll be curious to see what the Pacers do now. I would look for them to possibly deal Turner to acquire another asset of some kind and possibly make a trade or two acquiring a bad expiring contract with some assets attached. Then have their cap space again next off season.
  4. I feel like their is some serious bluffing going on. It’ll be interesting to see what happens come midnight.
  5. The Ayton and Haliburton combination could be a major problem for teams around the league. Haliburton and Ayton are both elite in the pick and roll. The reason to sign Ayton is to help put Haliburton in a situation to help make him great. If you pair them together with some other pieces on the perimeter it could be a solid foundation.
  6. He was. Teams don’t have to do that though especially if the team doesn’t have the cap space.
  7. Agreed. I just don’t understand the perception that restricted free agency is stealing a teams player that is floated around by casual fans on Twitter and historically Herb Simon.
  8. I don’t understand why some people view a team signing a restricted free agent to an offer sheet as undercutting the players original team and stealing their player. To me it’s better for that team because they at least get a chance to match the offer which they don’t in unrestricted free agency.
  9. My take on Ayton is that from an on court stand point he compliments Smith and Haliburton better than Myles because he is much better in the pick and role. Myles is terrible at that. His contract would be expensive but it would be at the end of it by the time you need it off the books to pay other guys and he is an upgrade over Turner. Do I think he would make a huge difference in total wins and loses next year? Probably not but he provides a skill set and experience in the league that the Pacers don’t have much of.
  10. They are. They’re supposedly meeting with the Nets during the summer league and if they can’t get a trade for Kyrie worked out then the Lakers are going to shift their attention towards Buddy Hield or Eric Gordon.
  11. Yep and there is still the chance of a Hield trade as well.
  12. If the Pacers offer him a max they are in a bind because they won’t be able to trade him for some time and neither party wants him to remain in Phoenix. The Pacers could cause a serious problem for their pursuit of KD.
  13. I fully expect something to happen on Saturday with Ayton and the Pacers. Whether he signs an offer sheet or there is a sign and trade.
  14. LeBron wants Kyrie. That’s really all that matters.
  15. It has to be about being a 3rd team. It makes no sense to try and acquire KD. There also so much crap being floated around right now I don’t think anyone knows what’s really going on and likely won’t until the Nets decide on KD’s destination.
  16. Wiggins can’t go to the Nets as long as Simmons is on their roster due to the type of contract they are on.
  17. Nets don’t want Ayton. He’s going to get moved to a 3rd team. The Pacers could also sign him outright if they wanted to as well and Phoenix couldn’t do anything except match the offer which they won’t. Nothing is happening until Durant gets traded though.
  18. I wouldn’t mind maxing a guy like Bridges or Ayton right now because of the Pacers having so many young guys on cheaper deals for a few years. I also think it’s a rare opportunity the Pacers could acquire a talent in FA that could be a valuable piece. Bridges could ply that 3/4 spot at a level that the Pacers haven’t had in several years. I want Bridges over Ayton but I’d be happy with either to help grow this young core even further.
  19. Pacers are being viewed as a strong candidate to add Miles Bridges if he chooses to leave Charlotte. The Pistons are a possibility as well.
  20. They both did some. Bilas did some as well. Bilas just annoys me and his best available list wasn’t the greatest either because he let his Duke bias show big time.
  21. That’s why I watched the one on ESPN. The worst part about that one was Bilas with his awful player comps.
  22. Brogdon will be gone. The Pacers are waiting for a team to miss out on someone in free agency to capitalize on the situation based on that teams need.
  23. The Pacers draft haul was pretty impressive without trading any players to get them. Getting Kendall Brown at 48 could be a steal. Now the Pacers can make trades as the off-season plays out.
