Burgess has been described to me as “really good” by somebody that has seen him play multiple times. He would be a great pickup and has been to IU around 6 times already for this keeping track.

Back to Carey being the OL coach. He made some interesting and likable comments in his first appearance since becoming the OL coach today.

I haven’t heard anything new since last week. Should hear more sometime this week about the visit.

It’s possible since that’ll be a couple years down the road and he may very well be an OC somewhere at that point.

I’m not wrong. People are good at saying nice things when talking to the media for articles. Being the RB coach at Notre Dame is a higher profile job and closer to being a HC of a D1 program than being the AHC/RB coach at IU. It was never part of his plan at the time but a better opportunity presented itself and he jumped. As I said before. Believe what you want even if you’re wrong.

I never said it was all about money. However it was a factor. By going to Notre Dame he got closer to being a college head coach. The AHC role is nothing more than a title used to add some extra bucks to a contract and allows that coach to step in if the HC ever has to miss any time. Him leaving wasn’t about the OL coach but believe what you want.

This was always message board bs. Notre Dame handed out the money $ to land a good running back coach.

Nope, when the coaches left that did they used that money to replace them. Allen had to pay to fire Sheridan not the athletic department and he wasn’t paying to replace 2 assistants himself.

They didn’t have the money to fire Sheridan and Hiller in the off-season. I think the amount went down once the season started. I also believe it was the last year of his contract so that was a factor as well.

It’s typically a combination of coaches that are assigned regions but also who the position coach wants to target as well.

I will say this. Allen hasn’t been pleased with the OL play at all. Hiller looked defeated on the sideline yesterday other than his argument with Bedford that was supposedly broken up by Tuttle. I didn’t see that but heard talk of it happening. I still think Allen wanted to make the move in the off-season but wasn’t able to contrary to popular belief.

Just rumors right now but it’s definitely something to keep an eye on as the next day or two progresses.
