Who knows. Not much has been said about Matta other than he really doesn’t know what his job is lol. He’s getting paid well though to do a lot of nothing but he got a contract for several years.

I was frustrated by the situation earlier and had heard a few different things. That said Woodson made the right call. I do think he could’ve done things differently with the dismissal.

I’m starting to step off the cliff and understand the move. I still have concerns but we’ll see how things play out. I just feel like it’s never ending stupidity with this program.

One thing I know about Woodson is that soon after taking the job he was supposed to speak at a coaches clinic in the state. The morning of Fife showed up and said Woodson sent him because he couldn't make it. I guess it really rubbed some people the wrong way. Overall I’m still not sure how to take Woody as a college head coach. So this second year will be a massive test.

Mike Woodson wants yes men. That’s not Fife. The dude lasted 10 years with a hall of famer at MSU but can only last 1 with Woodson.

It was known that he and Izzo butted heads at times. That said Izzo didn’t want yes men and knows that it’s okay for assistants to have different opinions. Izzo also would listen to those same assistants so things didn’t always fall on deaf ears.

If heard he’s enjoying retirement and has several other things going on. That’s why he was a consultant and Woody already listens to him over his assistants anyway

This isn’t good and it’s starting to look like Woody wants yes men on staff that just do what he says.

Possible but these situations are typically more complex than that.

All I know is Woody is going to have some hard conversations this week with some folks and there could be a players or 2 decide to leave on their own.

The key is to draft a QB to develop behind him. There’s zero chance this causes years of rebuilding when that’s what they’ve been doing. He was the best option.

Hurst, Uzomah, Engram, and Hooper all could have been additions to the TE room. WR would be a little trickier.

There in lies the problem. They moved on from a QB without a plan as to how to move forward with adding offensive weapons and getting an upgrade at the QB position. It looks as though a decision was made without a plan for the most important position in the sport. I get Wentz wasn’t the answer but at some point you have to have a real plan. There have also been a few other contracts that have been signed by receivers and tight ends that were reasonable.

I just want Ballard to improve the skill positions. There have been several sign on reasonable deals and it feels like he hasn’t tried on any of them. As for the QB situation it’s just a theory until he actually gets something done.
