Great photos! And of course the two doxies are right there waiting for the treat. 😂
Not surprisingly, it was the only way to keep their attention long enough to snap a picture 😂😂

How about Milehi Hoosier Nation, since I think he was one of the founders, was he not? And the most Senior?
Eric/ColonialCrester was our founder. But mile has been around since the beginning.
Mods are discussing this, just so you all know.

Honestly it's not looking good for my grandma, but she's in her late 90's and her quality of life has been suboptimal for the last few years, so when her time comes, it may be a blessing. I'm more concerned about my aunt, who has otherwise been in good health, but spent the last two days visiting my grandma in the hospital, feeding her, handling her dentures, and f*cking singing songs with her, basically everything you would NOT want to do around someone who has Covid, she did.
In my lifetime, I've lost four relatives/family members in the last week of December. I have a feeling my grandma will be #5. This is why I don't look forward to the holidays anymore.
Man, that is tough. Keep plugging along. Easier said than done, but sometimes that's all you can do.

Thompson was a great add. The Celts now have two starter quality 5s that have different skill sets. Good move by Ainge.
Now I'm gonna go vomit after giving Danny that compliment.
Great personal growth KoB. We are proud of you!

50% of the debate is whether it protects you.
I am not dismissing anything, but this statement is simply not true.
Maybe more bout 80-20, and that's being generous.

What are your thoughts on this Drs conclusion / analysis of the Danish study?
https://sebastianrushworth.com/2020/11/19/covid-19-new-evidence-on-face-masks/
His own words....
"The main thing lacking with this study is that it only looked at risk to the person wearing the face mask. It says nothing about the risk that the person wearing the mask will infect another person. That is an equally important parameter, and at present there are no high quality studies looking in to it, so before we can truly say that masks fill no function, we need another large randomized controlled trial that looks at the ability of face masks to prevent the mask wearer infecting other people"
Hasn't everybody primarily said the biggest benefit to wearing a mask was to keep you from spreading to others, not so much to protect yourself?
This study, and his analysis didn't even test what the main purpose of wearing a mask is. Not sure what point there was in this study. It measured something that isn't really part of the mask wearing debate.

The retail places around here demand it. At the entrance of the New Caney Walmart, a polite lady checks everybody coming into the store. If you don't have your mask on, she asks you to don one...
Doesn't hurt that she's got another Walmart guy standing beside her who looks like the Missing Link...and I don't think he's there for window dressing...
Texas does have its charms...
@Hoosierhoopster part time gig?
Good for him!

The deal, for me, on masks....
Do they work? Do they help? I say slightly, just my opinion. You can find plenty of studies to argue both sides. So it is what it is. I suspect it helps, but far from eliminates risk.
For me, it is more about social responsibility. An overlooked fallout from this pandemic is anxiety, depression, and a myriad of mental well being issues.
Wearing a mask gives people a sense of comfort. A sense of community. My wife suffers from major anxiety. It is so hard to watch what this is doing to her.
If we go grocery shopping and ONE person is not wearing a mask, she sprints to the car.
So, maybe wearing a mask helps reduce the spread. Maybe it gives a little sense of peace to a neighbor.
There is zero risk to wearing a mask, beyond pride.
There ARE proven benefits to wearing a mask, my wife.
So I do not care what any study says in either direction. To me, it is doing the right thing for my small community.
(Sorry if typos are abound, typing quickly from my phone)

My wife who is a healthcare worker tested positive this morning. I was tested Saturday after having symptoms for a few days. Should get results today or tomorrow.
My symptoms seem to be flu like. We are now quarantined for a couple weeks. Thanksgiving is down the drain.

Get well Jeff!

This is a very worthwhile thread. Its a tough time and a tough topic. It is easy for emotions to take over. All I ask is remember, we are friends on an IU fan board. Lets discuss without jeopardizing that.

Thread is about to come to an end. Be adults. If you get emoyional/political, step away. Just do not post.
Look gang, nobody is going to change anybody views here.
We just lost our founder Eric. Evety mod will vouch for me when I say he wanted to vote this thread long ago. Our forum is built, partly, on a zero politics policy.
Honor that. Knock off the personal attacks and political jabs. Or just don't post.
I am not giving any further warnings here.
You are adults. You know the rules. Respect them or find somewhere else to post.
Sorry Lostin76,
I did not mean to quote you. Although you clearly are spitting on the face of our rules, you are not alone and I am not singling you out.

Not sure what planet you're living on Fouls lol. There were all kinds of repeated "media" statements, you know since we're inclined to bash the "media" generally, repeatedly noting that large social gatherings / protests could spur the Virus and pointing out gatherings / protests where people were wearing masks, as opposed to those large "gatherings" when people weren't.
Wait, are you seriously claiming the national media treats all mass gatherings equally in how they portray them regarding covid? Come on now. I love you but come on.
And its both sides, to be clear.

Early in the process. But there seems to be connections. And his mentality does match how Archie coaches.

Heard it was coming. Curious what surrounding suburbs and other counties do in area.
I was in the city a few weeks ago. A restaurant literally asked for my ID. When he saw I was from Kentucky, he said due to covid they could not serve me.
I got booted out. Lol
